Tells the story of the debates, disagreements, and compromises that led to the formation of the U.S. Constitution during the Constitutional Convention of 1787. Written in graphic novel format.
One of my ESL students is interested in U.S. History. This is a well written introduction to the Constitution in Graphic form. It is the right reading level and should be interesting to her.
This book offers a basic retelling of the cooperation and controversy surrounding the drafting and ratification of the U.S. Constitution, including the major players as well as the pivotal events which shaped this foundational document.
It's a good entry in Graphic Library's Graphic History series, and the pictures do a great job at helping to tell the tale.
The narrative itself is short and does not have a great amount of detail, but the additional information provided in the back of the book gives readers resources to learn more. It's a decent way to bring history alive and make it more interesting for young readers.
What a great introduction to this amazingly important time in our country's history. And thank you Lin-Manuel Miranda for making my kids interested in everything Hamilton! He is now the gateway to US History!!
