This debut novel has a very good idea for a plot and introduces a lot of characters that I’d like to know better. While at times I felt a little lost among the “tell more than show” pages, this story was relatively easy to follow and enjoy. Asia and Grayson had a lot to work through and the pain revealed in both their separate and shared pasts made for some emotional reading, but their heartbreak was all worth the happiness they found in the end. Sure, it didn’t feel worth it while they were mis ...more blog~
I thought this book had a good premise and the potential to be an engaging story but unfortunately it didn't reach my expectations. The first three quarters of the book developed very slowly and I was struggling to read on. To be honest, I didn't like any of the characters very much either.

I struggled with how to articulate my feelings through my review and one thought came to mind to describe it best. When I was a student, many years ago, I distinctly remember a lesson learned from one of my En

★★★ Spoiler-free Review ★★★

This chunker of a book (don't y'all love big books? I do!) is Nikki Leigh's debut novel, as well as the first book in a brand-new series. And lemme tell you, if you're looking for a highly detailed romance featuring an over-the-top alpha hero, a strong-willed heroine whose backstory will break your heart, an intricate plot that will leave you guessing until the very end, a big ol' cast of secondary/supporting characters then this book is for you!

So, without giving aw

While reading this book, you will need a box of tissues nearby. Asia and Grayson’s story is filled with a lot of emotional bumps, setbacks and unexpected twists. It is a romance, but it is also a story of survival, and of triumph and rebirth. The topic of child abuse is a large part Asia’s history in this book and may be a trigger for some readers. I found it impossible not to admire Asia and all she has accomplished in spite of a horrific childhood and her blindness. Her posse of friends, her S ...more

This book was heartbreakingly beautiful. Anastasia's backstory and childhood just broke my heart. I had tears in my eyes. No one should go through what she had. This book touches on some tough subjects, but it is also a book of hope. It's amazing the woman that Anastasia has become. Life could have made her give up and become bitter. She's admirable character that's going to capture your heart. Grayson is prime book boyfriend material. He's so good for Anastasia. It made my heart so happy to see ...more

I thought Blind Expectations was a good story it did take me a bit to connect to the story and the characters but the more I read the more I fell for the characters . Part of the reason it took me some time to connect to the characters they kind of frustrated me with some of things they did but they made up for it in the end I also liked the secondary character more then the hero and heroine . Over all this was a good story and I can't wait to read more in The boys of Tonopah with the little tea ...more

Anastasia aka Asia has known Grayson for several years. He is 8 years older and she was much to young when they first met. They have come in contact off and on over the years due to a mutual friend. When life puts them in the same place at the right time can they get past all their obstacles in order to find love?

I have to say for a debut novel the author did a great job. I loved the storyline and characters. Asia's girls and Ethan are amazing. Asia's past is beyond heartbreaking and will bring

*3.5 Star Review*

I believe this is a debut novel for this author and it has times when that shows. There were times throughout the story it seemed chaotic and not planned well in certain parts which can lead to some confusion.

By no means does this mean it isn’t a good story with characters you can connect with. It just means the author will hopefully hone in on her skills as her writing progresses.

The plot of the story is solid. Some minor improvements and this story would be stellar. The auth

This debut novel is actually really well done. I was very interested in all the characters and can’t wait to read more about them. I loved this story about Asia and Grayson and all the hurdles they go through. Highly recommend reading this book.

This is the 1st in a new series as well as a debut from this author and is Asia and Grayson’s story. Asia lost her sight suddenly at 7-years old and Grayson enters her life he becomes the light to her darkness, until she confesses her true feeling for him which leaves her heartbroken. Now Grayson is determined to persuade Asia to give him a second chance, but is it too late? This is a good story with intriguing and realistic characters, and with emotions, drama, heartbreak, and love. The only do ...more

This book needs a lot of improvement and polishing. Also needs all of the FSoG references knocked out of it. Which sadly would put it at a very short story.
There is just too much that isn't hers and too much that is hers. While I appreciate a well-detailed story, this one just had too much going on all at one time.
BUT, we get a HEA and the author definitely has the ability to hone her craft and put out some great reads!
