I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review as part of the book tour hosted by Lovebookstours.
Brain Teasers for Bright Sparks is a great boredom buster book for children aged 7-9 years. This book has 85 puzzles and brain teasers and there is something for every child in this book. This would make a great book for travelling somewhere and for rainy days. There's so much fun in this book in the form of maths, logic, quizzes, logic, mazes, spot the difference, food and more.
Each puzzle in on a single page and the answers are all at the back of the book for children to check their answers along with numerous notes pages for working out puzzles as they go along. My daughter who is 9 is really enjoying testing herself with this book!

This is exactly the kind of puzzle that would have (and still would) kept me entertained for hours when I was young. It says it's ideal for ages 7-9, for me personally, I'd say some are easy enough for 6year olds, perhaps even 5 year olds. Others I'd say could still prove a challenge for up to about age 11.
The cover is bright and engaging, it would definitely encourage me to pick it up when looking for a puzzle book.
There is a great variety in the types of puzzles throughout so no-one should get fed up following it through in order.
Great illustrations throughout and I like having the time keeping area at the bottom of the page so you can challenge yourself and others!

Oh.My.Gosh!! I absolutely love this book!
For as long as I can remember, I've loved sitting and puzzling.
This is a gorgeous book filled with a whole range of brain teaser puzzles aimed at the age group 7-9years.
A perfect age to get kids interested in these educational but fun activities. Filled with number puzzles, word puzzles, jigsaws and mazes, it's a brilliant mix to appeal to all.
Kids can practise their Maths and English skills, alphabet, writing and reading all in one handy book which contains 85 mixed puzzles, includes answers and a brilliant little section left as working out space.
It's cover is so bright and colourful and full of quirky characters who join you throughout the pages, with smiling faces full of encouragement.
There is also a little clock on each page so that you can even pop down the time it took you to solve each puzzle - great if you revisit the puzzles later and try to beat your time....or for siblings to have one each and try to beat each other.
This is a great book to grab out on a rainy day or to pack on a car journey or holiday and a brilliant alternative to spending time with all these screens.

✍🏽🤓 BOOK TOUR REVIEW 🤓✍🏽
Brain Teasers For Bright Sparks by Gareth Moore & Illustrated by Jess Bradley
Hugest apologies for my tardiness of this post to the publisher, authors and Love Books Tours - I thought it was tomorrow 🤦🏽♀️
Thanks so much to Kelly at @lovebookstours and @buster_books for Nico’s gifted copy.
So Nico hates any kind of bookish type learning but he loves a puzzle so this book seemed ideal for him.
He’s opened and engaged this book almost every day e which is a first for him - usually he loses interest quite quickly in anything educational based.
The book is for ages 7-9 but his brother Raff had a go at a couple of the easier ones with my support and really enjoyed them (he’s definitely a book learning type child) so I would say that it all depends on your child’s ability.
I actually had a go at a couple of these aswell whilst Nico was at school or out playing and remembered how much I too loved doing puzzle type activities.
There’s over 80 activities which range from quizzes to spatial awareness type activities, riddles and number games.
I would definitely buy something similar to this for Nico again as he has taken a liking to giving the activities a go when he is bored, which he wouldn’t have done previously. He just picks a page and has a go.
I think this would be great to take on travels as something to do for everyone whether solo or with another. There’s a little space at the bottom of each activity for you to time yourself and a notes section at the back in case you need more space than on the page at hand. The answers are of course in the back of the book too.

This latest title in the hugely successful series is packed with over 140 vocab-building wordsearches and puzzles to challenge curious minds, testing high-frequency words to lesser-known synonyms.
My 10 year old daughter Aria has really enjoyed it, and here are her thoughts:
“I loved this book. It was good to tickle my brain and keep me entertained in the school holidays. It would be a perfect book to pack for travelling to stop you getting bored on a long journey or it’s awesome for even just sitting around the house. After reading this book any crossword or brain teaser becomes easy!!
There’s a huge variety of different type of puzzles. A few favourites of mine are definitely the number word search and the page called circle sizes. It’s also filled with mazes, which I really enjoyed doing with my 6 year old sister. I also loved the pairing dominos and the geography quiz!
The illustrations are really cute and funny and make the book fun. I’ll be recommending this book to all of my friends.”

As a teacher, I jumped at the chance to be able to review this one, as I am always looking for new ways to engage the children and challenge their curious minds. I took this into school and shared with the children and they all loved the puzzles, particularly the fact that there was a variety of different styles of puzzles. The quizzes were by far the most popular, as they love a bit of trivia, but they were equally challenged and excited by the logic and number puzzles too.
Though the back cover recommends this for ages 7-9, I would definitely say that 10 and 11 year olds would get lots of enjoyment out of it too. I would definitely recommend for both teachers and parents alike.

My kids love a puzzle book. This one has been a godsend over the last days. Well couple of weeks as mini me has had many trips to the hospital. She has loved working her way through the puzzles to pass the time. The puzzles make the children think but not in away that stresses them out.
The illustrations are so cute and she has enjoyed colouring them in.
Sudoku is a big favourite of hers and she loved the alphabet version.
Great way to entertain the children this summer.

Review by Zethea age 9:
"It is a little bit easy because I am age 9. I enjoyed it because it has nice puzzles. It will be good for children a bit under my age like 8 or 7. My favourite puzzle was the triangle puzzle because they're always so tricky to do. I like that it gives you a space to say if you timed yourself and how long it took you."
