They’re oppressed and made to suffer. Will a monstrous twist of fate fly her into an unforeseen destiny?
Seventeen-year-old veterinarian Taylor despises the dictatorial corporation that oversees their lives. With its ruthless philosophy that adversity makes one stronger, she’s leery of her mother’s devotion to the organization. And when they enforce that principle by releasing a deadly beast on her village, the young woman’s animal-handling skills put her in mortal danger.
Working with a soldier who disagrees with PanTech’s policy, she battles the frightening threat to her home. But with his acts considered treason, Taylor and the new friend she’s falling for may find their solution was more lethal than the problem.
Can the heroic teenager survive long enough to take a stand against tyranny?
Shadowfalcon is the high-energy first book in the PanTech Chronicles YA dystopian series. If you like determined heroines, thought-provoking concepts, and intriguing visions of the future, then you’ll love F. Lockhaven & M.A. Owens’s suspenseful adventure.
F. Lockhaven is one of Grace Lockhaven's several pen names where "Teen and Young Adult Science Fiction & Fantasy" books are published.
Grace Lockhaven loves to read fantasy, paranormal, mysteries, and so much more.
Her favorite series are Harry Potter, Cirque Du Freak, and Spooksville.
She loves coming up with stories about witches and wizards, mythical gods, dragons, vampires, ghosts and demons.
Her favorite hobbies are reading, hiking, exercising, drawing and watching humorous anime with her family.
How did she meet the man of her life, Thomas Lockhaven? She was working as a personal trainer on the first floor of the gym. Thomas heard her laugh from the third floor, and he just had to find out who that laugh belonged to. It took him weeks to find her, but he finally heard her laugh again while he was on the same floor.
Captured me from the very first paragraph and wouldn't let go until the last word. The more I read, the more I wanted. This book ends in an "end of story" way while leaving you on tenterhooks because you KNOE there is going to be more just as good. As for content, it was well thought out, from a 'normal' person's perspective, correlates to current societal changes and ine the end, makes one wonder "is that where we are headed?" Or "is that what's really happening behind the scenes?" The storyline seems simple, but holds a profoundness that can't be described in words and must be experienced to be believed. I seriously recommend this book to other readers. I only hope this feeling continues into the other books to come...
This book was a unique one, and it completely astonished me. It’s the first book in an intriguing series by M.A. Owens and F. Lockhaven.
ACTUAL RATING - Rating on Amazon: 5 Stars. Real One: 4.75 Stars.
PLOT - Well, the plot is the most important thing in a book. You can’t write a book without a plot. The author did a really good job and crafted it so it wouldn’t be boring.
SURPRISES - Great surprises. Especially the earthquake in the middle of the book. However, I would’ve wanted a bit more surprises, but the quality was good.
CHARACTERS - The characters in this book are very insightful, and well-made by the author. You need to make a character real, and not an animation. And the author made the characters real!
ACTION - The amount of action, was a small problem. The story kinda stopped when the action died out, so that’s one thing. But, it had enough for the story to be read and enjoyed.
RATING OUT OF 100 - The amount of action and surprises could be slightly improved so I’ll give this 4.75 Stars. However, the plot was amazing!
LENGTH - The length of the book was perfect, I hate very short, and very long books. I don’t know about you, but this was the perfect length for me.

Amazing youth dystopian novel, which does not leave the reader indifferent. In an environment altered in such a way that people suffer, both life and the decisions that the protagonists have to make are the most challenging and transcendent, and expose the question: what is it worth fighting for on our life?

A bit different than the books I normally read but I really enjoyed it! I loved how it gave a fully developed back story to Taylor and why she made the decisions she did. It had beautifully developed characters and world. I especially loved the shadowfalcon and would love to read more stories about Ghost and Taylor.
There is a decent story here, but it is lost in long, pointless events. I ended up finishing the book, but skipped though scenes that never seemed to end.
