This murder mystery is set in one of my favorite places: New York City. It was written in the mid-1990s, after Ed Koch was the real-life mayor of NYC. In a series of murder mystery novels that take place in and around The Big Apple, Mayor Koch makes himself the star and sleuth. This is the only book in the series that I’ve read, but I do plan to seek out the others.

Edward Irving "Ed" Koch was an American lawyer, politician, and political commentator. He served in the United States House of Representatives from 1969 to 1977 and three terms as mayor of New York City from 1978 to 1989. He also became known as a "judge" on the television judge show The People's Court from 1997 to 1999.
