Conor:
Once upon a time, I was hers, and she was mine.
Forever was ours until one day, it wasn’t.
Over the years, I learned to stay alive. But somewhere amid all the pain,
loss, and heartache, I forgot how to live... until her.
Cassie Davis is everything I never wanted.
A ray of hope that infiltrates the darkness I’ve become accustomed to.
She wants to resuscitate me, revive the man I once was.
But how do you bring a man back to life when his heart and soul died long ago?

Cassie:
Once upon a time, Conor Maguire held the sun in his hands.
Until, one day, all the light faded to black.
Now, he conceals himself behind a fake smile.
He doesn’t know that I’ve been there.
I’ve worn the same shoes and walked a hundred miles to find myself again.
I want to free him, be the one person who can reach him in the dark.
I see him, a man with wounds that still bleed.
If only he’d let me in, he’d see the life he has is still worth living.

"Don’t lose hope because the sun has gone down. Search for the moon, and she will guide you home.”

Hope, book four in Shauna McDonnell's 4Clover series, takes readers through the depths of despair and back for an emotional read.

Conor Maguire seemed to have it all but he lived a half life caught up in a past that held his heart. The struggle he had to embrace the joy in life was heartbreaking. Cassie Davis had a past that made it difficult to move forward even as she strived to do so. When these two lost souls met each other the connection was electric which both invigorated and terrified them. The processing of this pair's feelings from dealing with their attraction to the angst over their desire to move on was intense. Standing out with this couple was their kindness to each other and their recognition of the pain they each felt. This author did a wonderful job of not minimizing Conor and Cassie's feelings for their first loves even while showing that while the love they developed for each other was different than their first it was just as significant, there was no settling or second best. The conversations throughout this work were meaningful and moved this story forward adeptly.

Often when you come across a series later in it's progression the earlier books tend to take a back seat to the current work in the review process but in the case of Ms. McDonnell's 4Clover series the previous books merit mentioning. Each book was well put together and thoughtful, the perfect mix of humor and heartache. As the last book in the 4 Clover series, Hope, tied things up it did not take long for it to sink in what a great series this author put out. Each book took readers on an individual journey even as readers experienced the overall evolution of the band spanning across the series. It was clear from book one onward that Shauna McDonnell writes with her heart. Her stories are filled with genuine emotion that shows a depth that translates well to her audience. The easy flow of her writing makes her work approachable as well as absorbing. With an abundance of thoughtful interactions her works are anything but trivial and give readers a glimpse into the full potential awaiting them from Ms. McDonnell. A highly recommended Jenerated Reviews series, get ready for the 4Clover guys to rock your world!

Oh, Conor! My heart broke for him. I wanted to climb right into my kindle and give him a hug.
This book was amazing. Beautifully written, heart breaking and heart warming at the same time. I could not put it down.
Shauna, you did an amazing job on this final journey with the 4clover guys. I’m so sad it’s over and now I need a Sinners series. Saint is my man!
A fabulous 5 star read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “This girl is going to save me from the dark.”

What You’ll Find:
✔️Rockstar Romance
✔️Second Chances
✔️Tortured Hero
✔️Slow Burn
✔️Dual POV

You know what I love about reading series’ where the characters are interconnected? You get to know each of the characters, bit by bit, and with each new book, you look forward to the next... where you’ll get a characters story who might have grabbed your heart or intrigued you. You become invested. Well Hope is one of those stories for me. Throughout the 4Clover series we got snippets of Conor, and Cassie. Hints. Which left me anticipating Conor’s story. But I was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster it is!

“Life is composed of moments. Each one is sewn together, stitched and seamed to weave our past, present, and future.”

From the opening paragraphs of the prologue, combined with the playlist chapter song selection, I knew I was going to be in tears. And I certainly was. The authors words pierced right through me and I felt Conor’s pain. Conor is a tortured soul. Drowning in grief. Struggling with so many emotions in moving forward. And there’s Cassie. She’s such a bright light despite her own heartbreaking past. I truly adored her. So caring, selfless and patient. But not afraid to be who she is or speak her mind.

“Every time I’m near her, I can feel it, the inevitability brewing.”

These two had an enemies type of banter from the start, but infused with chemistry they both denied. Their story is definitely more of a slow burn, and while it got steamy, it wasn’t the focus. I found myself turning the pages, not wanting to put it down. Rooting for them through the highs and lows.

“All our broken pieces are whole when we are together, and all the risk and fear is worth it.”

This story is technically a rockstar romance. Conor is in a band. But there isn’t a huge focus on the that aspect in this story. This story is an emotional one. One of grief and pain. But also hope and healing. Second chances. The FEELS, my gosh. You’ll feel them ALL. It also has snippets of the authors humour I have loved from the start. She couldn’t have written a better ending to this series. I absolutely loved it. Highlighted the crap out of it. Have your tissues handy and cue up that playlist! It only enhances the reading experience!

“The truth is life goes on, and it’s up to us to decide whether we let it pass us by or live as if each moment will be our last.”

*I received an ARC for my honest review. All options are my own and given freely.

If you’ve read the previous books in this series then you’ll have seen how Conor is but at the same time you’ll have seen just the outskirts of him, but with this book you get to see all the ins and outs of what goes on through his mind. Shauna McDonnell has really poured her heart and soul into this book and it shows within her writing, there’s so many emotions that take place and you can’t help but feel them all. Whilst this book has been coming a long time, it’s honestly worth the wait as you can’t help but get lost in the story. It genuinely feels like you’re there in person as the characters and I seriously love that it’s so gripping and raw. You will honestly feel so much and there’s a lot of heartache, so be warned now if you’re a crier then Shauna will most likely make you cry with the words and the heart-breaking events that take place, so make sure you have tissues at the ready.
It honestly feels like yesterday that I started reading this series, and the journey’s that have taken place have all been incredible but grip worthy. I’ve loved getting to experience all of the boy’s experiences and lives, I know that they’ve all had such difficult adventures, but still they’ve done everything in stride, despite how much it’s hurt them at times.
I am honestly shocked and impressed how much Shauna has grown as a writer, she cares about what her readers want, and then goes off and does that but in her own incredible way.
I thought that she did a great job at creating both Cassie and Conor, she managed to perfect them in such a way that I could visualise them. I’ve been intrigued by them both since the beginning, but I honestly had no idea how she would tell their stories, but she gave them both the justice they deserved.
I honestly can’t fault anything that she did with this book, I thought she nailed everything perfectly. She is extremely talented, and I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us.

Conor had everything once upon a time, his career taking off, he was engaged to the love of his life and he had the most precious baby girl who was only a couple of months old. Yet the moment both of his amazing girls got ripped away from him, he couldn’t see the light anymore. It hurt him so badly and no one else seemed to understand what he was going through, so him not being a man of so many words, did what he always did, be there when everyone needed him, but the minute he’s alone he wallows in self-pity and hating what his life has become.
However, the minute Cassie comes stumbling into his life, he starts feeling things that he never thought he’d feel again, but still in his mind he feels so guilty for it as it’s like he’s cheating.
Whilst Cassie isn’t known to keep quiet, she has her own story to tell, but will only do so in her own time, so when Conor finds it out for himself, he can’t get over how incredible she is.
Will Conor be able to put the past where it needs to be instead of letting it consume the present??
Is Cassie the person he’s been gifted in order to help live life again???

Beautiful

4Clover’s previous three books were favorites of mine and the wait for this one seemed to take forever, but so worth it.
Conor has suffered unspeakable tragedy and has been closed off for six years until Cassie arrives in Ireland.
This series timeline runs parallel and I strongly recommend reading the books in order to get the full picture of everyone and how they help propel the series forward.
Conor and Cassie are magical together and I do believe that their story can help heal others that have gone through what they have. After all hope springs eternal.
If there’s one series that I need to do an entire re read of. It’s this one.
I do hope there are more rockstar stories coming from this talented author.

Deeply emotional, wonderfully moving, and heartbreakingly beautiful....Hope is one story that will utterly CONSUME your Heart and Soul from beginning to end! ...

It has been the most amazing ride with Shauna's 4 Clover series. Each book delivering a soul-searing love story that I hold near and dear to my heart ❤. I found divine Luck with Cian, a fairy tale Love with Cillian, and found ultimate Faith with Ciaran. Nothing could prepare me for the incredible amount of Hope that I found with Connor...

This second chance romance is a dazzling concert of emotions that grips you heart. You'll want savor every word and embrace every moment of Connor's heartache and triumph. The feelings of grief, pain, heartbreak, and healing are so beautifully written, the emotions just pour out of the pages. Shauna definitely put me through the ringer with this one and there was nowhere else I'd rather be than alongside Connor on his journey to find the Hope he's lost....

“Once upon a time, I held the sun in my hands, then she set, and I lost all hope of ever being happy.”..

Oh Connor you beautiful broken man...you broke my heart with your pain, anguish, and sorrow. How I wanted to heal you myself. Never have I been so emotionally invested in a character. I needed him to find his second chance at happiness. To find Hope and love once again...

"This man is going to own my heart."

Cassie Davis is sweet, sassy, beautiful and strong. She also knows tragic loss herself. Not even Tarot Tina could have predicted the journey that's in store for her. This bohemian Moonbeam sees beyond the carefully constructed armor surrounding Connor's heart. Can she be his guiding light out from the darkness he inhabits. The one to show him how to feel again and teach him how to heal....

OMG this book!! This beautifully brilliant story stole my heart. From beginning to end it was the most amazing reading experience! Although I'm sad that this series has come to an end, Shauna sends her guys off in the most beautiful way and I couldn’t have been happier to see them all happy and content. Maybe one day we'll see the next generation of 4 Clover in their children?
Hmmm Shauna...maybe Croi ???😉🤞😍❤

I can't recommend this series, book, and author enough! Shauna McDonnell is a wonderfully gifted author who's stories have the most amazing ability to steal your heart and sear your soul! Get this Gal's books on your TBR NOW! You'll so thank me later! 😘❤

Hope is the fourth and final book in the 4Clover series, and Shauna McDonnell is so talented; she gave us a book that was an amazing conclusion to the series.

I went through a lot of emotions, including crying. This book was an emotional rollercoaster from the beginning until the end. This book is full of grief, pain, and heartache, but it also has healing, hope, and love. I could not put it down!!

Cassie is a strong, smart, sweet, and sassy woman. Cassie has been through a lot, and even though it is hard, she tries to move forward day by day.

Connor is someone that carries so much pain, grief, and sorrow. Connor has been through a lot as well, he lost everything, and he is truly broken.

Two broken souls find each other. Connor never expected to find someone that can understand his pain, someone that can help him heal, someone that makes him want to give life another chance, but then Cassie appeared in his life; she is the light he has been missing in the middle of so much darkness. Connor & Cassie's story was beautiful, life put them through a lot, but they found each other. Their chemistry is undeniable, and they were truly made for each other.

I highly recommend this book, as well as the whole series; you will not regret reading them!!

THIS...

I've been a fan of this rock star series of Shauna McDonnell's and am so sad to have reached the end, but, oh, what an end.
Ms.McDonnell has this brilliant ability to paint the picture and the characters as if you are there through a clear but whimsical composition of words that is melodious and easy to follow.
Conor is a grieving man, and the way she describes the struggles and confusion he experiences with trying to move forward and be happy without letting go and forgetting, is completely spot on. I think it's how any person in that situation would want to explain it if they could find the words as she did.
In addition, Shauna has a knack for writing very likeable heroines and Cassie is quirky, dynamic, intelligent and fun. I so enjoyed reading her own journey in all of this.
Thank you Shauna, for the most powerful and beautiful end to this fantastic series!

Wow... Wow! I am truly amazed by this book. I was not expecting the twist and turns, ups and downs. My emotions were on a rollercoaster while reading this incredibley well written book. It just hit me in all of the right places. I truly love these characters, and I'm so happy that I got to be a part of their journey. I have read books where you have the heroin go through such a deep loss and the hero brings her back to life, but this book; it's the opposite.

Cassie brings up past memories of Conor's past loved one, and with these memories brings an enormous amount of pain with it. What Conor doesn't know is that Cassie understands his pain all too well.
I'm truly at a loss for words...

I have only read one book that has made me cry before this one. I thought I was going to be able to hold it together, but boy was I wrong. Just some parting words from Conor: "She's the moon, a beam of light that infiltrates the blackness. She bleeds through darkness that I've lived in, guiding me towards hope." 5 stars, because it is that fluffin good.

A wonderful conclusion to the 4clover series.

Hope follows the final member of the band, Conor has he learns to move on from a terrible loss. This book has so many beautiful moments that will capture your heart. You will be crying from the minute you open the book. I swear, Shauna has done an amazing job capturing the feeling of grief. As a reader, you will feel that when you read Conor. And of course, Shauna’s book wouldn’t be complete without a leading lady. Cassie is sassy and understanding. She is the type you want in your corner not only as a partner but as a friend. It was great to see the series and characters come full circle.

I highly recommend the entire series to anyone who enjoys a good love story with a bit of spice and a bunch of feels!

Shauna did an amazing job writing Conor and Cassie's story. I enjoyed tagging along with them on their journey to healing and learning to live and love again. There are so many emotions in between the pages of this beautifully written book. From gut-wrenching heartache, grief, pain and loss to understanding, healing, hope and love. It will hurt and you will cry but you will also smile, and even laugh at times but it is all necessary for their journey. Conor and Cassie brought each other back to life, and taught each other that's it's ok to move on, after all, "moving on does not mean letting go." Your heart will be torn apart and slowly pieced back together, and every single word, every feeling, heart flutter, smile, every tear is absolutely worth it. I love Conor and Cassie together, their chemistry is undeniable. This was the perfect ending to a beautiful series.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! This book will tear your heart out. I cried so many times while reading this story but couldn't put it down. Cassie is a strong, smart woman who has been through a horrific tragedy but works through her pain to find happiness in her life. Connor rips your heart open and makes you wish for him to find light and happiness in his life. He has been through so much and lost everything but somehow finds light through Cassie. Their story is one of the most tragic but uplifting love stories I have ever read. The pain the author puts you through feels so real and alive you can't help but cry and then finally feel Hope! I highly recommend this series just make sure to have a box of tissues nearby for Cassie and Connor's story.

This story wrecked me, but in a good way. It tore my heart in two and had me crying ugly tears. This story is phenomenal!!

“— just two lost souls finding their way back home.”

Conor and Cassie both know grief and loss. While Cassie was able to move forward every day, Conor has yet to move past his heartache. That is until he lays eyes on Cassie. Burdened by his feeling of guilt, Conor tries to distance himself, but luckily for him Cassie never lets him retreat very far.

I absolutely loved Conor and Cassie together. They had a connection that sparked immediately. She was the light to his darkness.

“…I never saw you coming, then all of a sudden, I was blinded by your glow.”

Shauna McDonnell killed it with this story. Brilliant! Emotional! Absolutely wonderful! I wholly recommend reading Hope.

This book will make you believe in second chances at Love...

You will go through every emotion from prologue to epilogue in this dual pov romance between Conor and Cassie .

I enjoyed the depiction that healing isn't a quick or easy process and it never looks the same but that doesn't mean you can't live in the mean time.

I enjoy the role reversal that a woman help heals a man and gets to be the knight in shining armor.

Conor and Cassie have amazing chemistry such a great closure to an amazing series even more sad it's the end ...

Hope is phenomenal!!
From the opening prologue I was emotionally hooked.
I am utterly heartbroken this series is over. The rollercoaster of emotions in Conor & Cassie’s story broke me, but I couldn’t have loved it more.
A story about second chance love. Two broken souls burdened by what they’ve lost, and struggling with their opportunity to live.

Conor’s story is the final instalment of the 4Clover series, his story is constantly intriguing throughout the series but nothing prepares you for Conor & Cassie’s story. Heartbroken to finish the series, but what a story to finish the series with.💚
The author, Shauna is unbelievably talented. I was in tears as I absorbed the first few pages, to laughing at the initial banter between Cassie & Conor and swooning at their blossoming romance.
This book and series *needs* to be on your TBR list.

Final book in the 4Clover series, and this one focuses on Conor.

I have to be honest and say I read the other three a bit ago and don't remember a whole lot. Ugh, my memory sucks. I just remember the series was good, not overly anything, just something I enjoyed. And I am a complete sucker for two things that are in this series: Rockstars and Ireland!!

I ADORED this book. It was so heartfelt and so crushing. Two people who both have had their hearts ripped from their souls manage to find love again. So emotional and I just loved every single moment of Conor and Cassie's story. It melted me, completely.

Great little series, if you need something with just a little angst.

Tears Tears and more Tears

What a bitter sweet moment to a great series. From book one I was hooked and wanted to know everything about the 4Clovers and their lives.

Conors pain is so real and Cassie creates a great balance of grief while healing for him.

I’m actually sad it comes to an end but I’m truly happy Conor finally realized he could heal, grieve, love and cherish while still move forward.

Hope is the fourth and final installment of Shauna McDonnell’s 4Clover Series.

As someone who have followed the stories of Cian, Cillian, and Ciaran, I knew coming into Conor’s book that it would deliver a heartbreaking story about love and loss.

From the snippets of Conor in the other books, his quiet and reserved personality made him the mysterious one amongst the group. While I personally like Ciaran’s wit, easiness, and humor, Conor’s seriousness and not-much-of-a-talker attitude easily won my heart.

There’s a certain depth to him that I appreciate. His quiet demeanor and being a keen observant made him (for me) the most interesting 4Clover member (sorry guys, and I still love you Ciaran. LOL).

The heroine in this book is Cassie. She is Ella’s (Luck) best friend. She and Conor could not be anymore different from each other. The battle of wills between these two started from the get go, but the attraction is undeniable the first time they met.

Without giving away too much, let me just say Hope is a beautiful story of trying again—trying to get back on your feet when you are crushed by a tragedy, trying to trust oneself when it seems daunting to gamble falling in love again, and trying to live with a guilt and reconcile with the fact that life goes on.

Shauna McDonnell beautifully wrote a story of two people finding each other, who shares the common bond of experiencing profound loss. Two people who managed to support each other and help one another take the huge step of moving on.

My favorite part of this story is witnessing the friendship of Conor and Cassie, and how their relationship evolved into a second chance kind of love.

While the story touches on a heavier topic, Shauna’s signature wit and humor shone through in some interaction between the characters who couldn't be any different from each other--A woman who loves her tarot reading and colorful outfits and a tattooed man who seem to have a permanent scowl on him. So fear not, the beginning might break your heart into pieces, but you’ll be smiling the next with the banter of Conor and Cassie.

Hope is by far my favorite of the 4Clover series. I’m not only a sucker for second chance trope, but I also loved how the characters developed from (somewhat) nemesis, to friends, then to lovers.

A perfect close to this series—heartbreakingly beautiful, but will leave you HOPEful.

I was in love with this book before I even read it. It was the way the author described writing the book and how much she connected to the character that drew me in. You can tell when an author believes in her characters and they are apart of her soul. This book gave me all of those vibes. It was emotional, yes and Conor's grief felt like my grief. When he started to fall for Cassie, how conflicted and guilty he felt, was my guilt. What a beautifully written story about resiliency and finding love again.

I always knew Hope was going to be my favourite of the series and boy did Shauna hit me in all the feels. Ready yourself for an emotional rollercoaster. This one I did not want to put down and read it in one sitting. It resonated with me on such a deep level, and is definitely one of my favourite reads of 2021! Thank you for the book hangover Shauna!

This is the final book in the 4Clover series and the story I've waited for since almost the beginning. The stories are all interconnected and take place, in parts, at the same time so you know a little about what is coming for Conor.

I knew going in that this was going to gut me...and it did. Shauna has a way of breaking your heart and then building it back up again. Word by word, scene by scene, until it is so full to bursting you cry for all the good reasons.

Conor and Cassie were wonderful together. Helping each other, understanding each other, feeling each other's pain and loss. They were two tortured souls who needed healing and that is what they did.

This book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the entire series...in order. Trust me. It is so worth the ride.
