One of the best things about this series is all the amazing authors that are contributing to it and how many of them are new to me, like Rachel Lacey. Rachel Lacey did a wonderful job crafting a story about two women that were best friends and had a short summer fling when they were sixteen. Fast forward a dozen or so years and we have two women that haven't spoken to one another in a very long time but when they come face to face again you can tell the attraction is still there.

Poehe Shaw saw her late grandma’s house in Burlington as the best place to hide and reset her life after she went viral on SNS losing her job and her girlfriend. Taylor Donovan didn't expect to see her first love and first heartbreak when she went for her usual trek that day, but here she was Phoebe in the flesh in Vermont. When they recover from the shock to see each other after so many years of silence they start a new friendship, but will they keep their attraction on the low? Or will they r

something about this author’s writing has me adoring one heroine while rly disliking the other. in this case, loved Taylor. didn’t like Phoebe.
for starters, i kinda wanted a bit more angst? i know, im shocked too. overly angsty reads send me into cardiac arrest from all the stress, but this for sure needed way more angst.
i mean, this was a second chance romance where Phoebe broke Taylor’s heart when they were teens and literally never spoke to her again for 13 years. now they’re reunited, ...more

They were sixteen when they fell in love. Phoebe returns to Vermont, where she spent her summers as a kid, to escape the hurt and hardships she is currently experiencing in Boston. Taylor still lives in the same small town in Vermont and loves it. After being reunited at twenty-nine it will be interesting to see what will happen after all this time.

This is my first book by Rachel Lacey. It's also my first FF read. I absolutely adored this story! It's a second chance/summer fling story. Loved Phoebe & Taylor & their pups. Great addition to the Vino & Veritas series!

Usually, when I enjoy a book as much as I enjoyed this one, I have loads of thoughts about it. Once in a while, however, depending on what else is happening in my life or on the other books I read in the days before, I get one hundred per cent carried away and forget to take notes. When that happens, it also means all my feelings are so enmeshed, I can’t untangle them enough to analyse them. I don’t really feel like it either, I just want to bask in them, treasure them, keep them warm in my hear

This is the eighth book in a series of stories written by a collection of talented authors and set in Sarina Bowen’s True North world. I am really enjoying the connections, and yet the variety of styles offered by the different writers. This is a lovely story of second chances and a super cute rescue dog side-story!

Hideaway is a wonderful second chance romance for Phoebe and Taylor who were childhood sweethearts at sixteen but fear took Phoebe away. Now, years later she's back in Vermont to fix up her grandma's cabin whilst running from suddenly becoming an (unwanted) social media star but Taylor is still around, now working her dream job at an animal rescue and would love the chance to buy the cabin from Phoebe's family.

4 stars for Hideaway!!
I was so excited to read this book because not only is it my first book by Rachel Lacey but it’s also the first F/F romance I’ve ever read! As a bisexual woman, I’m surprised it’s taken me this long but now that I’m here I’m loving it.

This is Rachel Lacey's fifth (5th) lesfic at the moment, and I'd highly recommend them all! What's also great is they are ALL available on Kindle Unlimited, including this one.
(This is stand alone, despite being in a series.)

I thoroughly enjoyed this second chance romance between two former best friends who were maybe a little bit more when they were teenagers. Taylor has been living in Vermont and running an animal shelter, and Phoebe has been living in Boston as a financial consultant. They have not seen each other since they were teenagers... until Phoebe flees Boston after a series of unfortunate life events and seeks solice in her family's cabin, which just so happens to also be the same one Taylor is hoping to

Rachel Lacey is a new to me author but one I will definitely read again. I wanted to read this book because I was intrigued about how the books in the True North verse would play out. I'm a love is love reader so the fact that this is a F/F book wasn't the main focus here; I was in it for the romance plain and simple. Overall, I really enjoyed this story.

When Phoebe loses her job and her girlfriend she decides to head to Vermont to hide out for a bit. She figures she can help her dad out by renovating her late grandmother's cabin so he can turn it into a rental and it will be a huge distraction from everything blowing up in her life. What she doesn't expect to find is Taylor. Her first love and the one she ran from when they were teenagers. It's been a long time since they were teens but seeing Taylor brings back all kinds of feelings. Meanwhile

I enjoyed all the choices Rachel Lacey made for not just the story but also Taylor and Phoebe as characters, but I was detached from their romance. I totally believed in their friendship and their growth in that respect, but not the romance. I can’t even pinpoint why? #bananas Maybe it was too easy? This is a low, almost nonexistent, angst read. Hideaway is a nice second chance lesbian romance. This is Rachel Lacey's contribution to the multi-author Vino & Veritas series. Each book is a standalone.
When Phoebe returns to her hometown, she is given a second chance with her high school girlfriend, Taylor.

Second chance romance and cute dogs, I was so excited for this but it fell flat for me. I've said it before but this one I truly believe was just not the right time for me to read it. The story was very well written and put together, I just couldn't find myself enjoying it.

I'll be honest: I'm super picky when it comes to F/F romances, even pickier than I tend to be with M/M romances. I can count on fewer than the ten fingers of my two hands F/F romances that have stayed with me, so forgive me if I'm rather giddy over the fact that I can finally--FINALLY!--add a new title to that ever-so-short list. Truly stated by Rachel Lacey in her latest release, Hideaway!
Pheobe Shaw returns home to Vermont to renovate her grandmother’s house, as she re-assess her life and her future. Reuniting with her teenage friend Taylor Donovan was never in the cards. And neither was fostering a pregnant dog! But life has a weird sense of humor, and fate enjoys playing cupid and bringing two wonderful people who deserve to be happy and together.

Taylor Donovan and Phoebe were once best of friends until Phoebe ran away from Taylor and her feelings. They were each other’s first love so their parting was equally painful. Fired from her job because of a meme made out of a photo of her flipping the bird to a guy on the street, Phoebe retreats to Vermont to prep her late grandmother’s house for rental. Her time in Vermont was supposed to be her hideaway from the world, to lick her wounds, and figure out her future. It was also a time for her

3.5 stars
Phoebe and Taylor’s story is a quiet, small town romance. They were friends as teens and secretly dated one summer, but Phoebe wasn’t sure who she was at a young age and didn’t know how to handle the feelings she had for Taylor. The women have gone on and built lives, but they still haven’t found the relationship that clicks like they did together.

While this book is part of a series, it can most definitely be read as a stand alone story. The multi-authored series itself is centered around a wine bar/bookstore that in this case the couple does frequent. In this story, Rachel Lacey brings together Phoebe and Taylor who were each other's first loves. But at the time they were in high school and only one of them was ready to admit that what she felt was more than a simple friendship. Fast forward years later and neither woman has really ever

Hideaway was a pretty cute and also a bit of an emotional read. I loved that so much of the storyline involved dogs and puppies, I found that so cute!! I always adore stories that include dogs, they make me smile more with their cuteness. Taylor and Phoebe were good characters. I enjoyed getting to know them and see how they rekindle their relationship. They did get a little frustrating at times, but overall I liked them.
