Anderson Special Ops #3

Barriers: Anderson Special Ops - Book 3

Rate this book
Hendrick Meeks, also known as Green to his military brothers in arms is in trouble — big trouble. There are two women in his life that want a piece of him, and he doesn’t know which way to turn.

Hendrick’s has always been the youngest man at any stage of his career. He was a sniper for the US Navy SEAL’s and knows how to nail his target. Green stands over six feet tall, and with his baby face, blue eyes, and dark hair, he’s melted hearts from the time he stepped into his first classroom. He always knew he was going places in life, and he joined the Navy at the age of seventeen, then entered the SEAL program as the youngest member to this day. He’s also the youngest military member to receive the Medal of Honor. Nothing in life will slow him down.

Though Hendrick’s is reserved, it’s only because he’s always watching everything around him, sizing up every situation, and getting ready for his next mission. He left the military after eight years of service to start his own company, becoming a multimillionaire after only two years. When Chad Reddington asked him to join a Special Ops team founded by Joseph Anderson, he didn’t hesitate to begin a new chapter in his life.

Barriers is book three in the Special Ops series written by Melody Anne and John Henley that continues the journey of former military men now working to purge Seattle and her surrounding areas of drugs and crime — which is no easy feat. We’ve all watched as two of the team members have busted the bad guys while also managing to fall in love. Now it’s Green’s turn to step up to the table.

This next chapter in the series follows our Special Ops team, and dips into the Anderson lives as we follow Damien Whitfield and his involvement in crime that’s running rampant through Seattle. We also find out just who Senator Anna Miller is and why she’s running for President. Will she make it all the way to the White House?

Continue to follow this group of men led by Chad Reddington as they dive deeper into the underworld controlling Seattle. They fight hard, and play even harder, and at the end of the day, they won’t stop until they have a victory.

Barriers

What a great book! With all that we have been going through politically this past year, there were times I felt I was just living out everyday moments. Of course, I don't mess with drugs or happen to know anyone on a Special Ops Team, I definitely wouldn't mind meeting Joseph Anderson. Have the last name, wonder if we could become some of his long lost relatives? LOL. Okay, don't care for endings like this book had, but I am already on pins and needles for the next book in this awesome series. Melody Anne and John Henley make a great writing team bringing these stories together.

4 Star Review Barriers (Anderson Special Ops #3) by Melody Anne

This is Hendrick Meeks (aka Green) and Mallory’s story and it was a good addition to the series. The Anderson special ops team continue in their fight to rid Seattle of drugs and crime and this book brings to light more clues and details.

There were times when I was on the edge of my seat. Hendrick and Mallory are well suited for one another but as Green is undercover what happens when his mission is over? I am enjoying the writing styles of Melody Anne and John Henley as they work well together.

The camaraderie between the members of the team is witty and I love how loyal they are to one another, Barriers is full of steam, mystery, danger and suspense and be prepared for one explosive ending to this book and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Awesome series.

I loved this book and couldn’t stop reading. Loved how Joseph Anderson had formed his own Special Ops team. This story focused on Hendrick and how he falls for Mallory while undercover. Loved how we get multiple points of view plus other romances in this story. There’s also a lot of suspense, even in the ending. I highly recommend each book in this series and can’t wait for the next one.

Intense and Amazing!!

This book is well written. It was hot and intense. It had humor, romance, mystery and suspense. The storyline played on my emotions... especially the court scene with Katherine and the man who attacked her. I love the plot, the settings, and way all the characters were portrayed. I love the way the writers connect and link all the different characters within the storyline. Love the chemistry between Hendrick and Mallory... that rain scene was hot. Also, love the camaraderie between the team members. I am glad Damien turned out to be a good guy. The ending was unexpected and shocking. I am so looking forward to reading the next book in the series. The writers did an amazing job. I highly recommend reading this book.

Not Joseph

OMG... say it ain’t so. Not Joseph , he is the Anderson. Who is behind this mess. Another seal bites the dust. Green on assignment fell in love with an FBI agent Mallory. They were hot from the start. She was also a former Seal. There story is unique. You live it.

It's heating up

Okay, the story is heating up and getting juicy. I wish you guys would leave Joseph and Catherine alone. I did, however, enjoy Green and Mallory's coming together. They will make a formidable team alongside the fellas. I like the way the story is going. I'm ready for more.

A side series off the original great Anderson family books. The group are all ex-special forces and totally led Military men. The group of 5 work for the Great Joseph Anderson to handle the horrendous drug network in Seattle after Katherine Anderson was badly assaulted as she interrupted a drugs deal. In this book, the group have a mission in which Green goes undercover. After lots of twists and turns Green and his FBI girlfriend find their HEA much to everyone else’s amusement. The group are toppling like skittles in the marriage stakes. The action scenes are brilliantly written by Melody Annes co-writer an ex military man himself. A great read

Another great addition to the Anderson Special Ops Series and in Barriers we get to follow Hendrick Meeks better known as Green and Mallory Black’s story. The team are still fighting to rid Seattle of drugs, crime and wrong doing. Once again Joseph Anderson has found the perfect match in Green and Mallory but does Mallory know the real man and is she in love with Green or Hendrick.
How will couple deal with real life once the mission is over and will the attraction still be there
Barriers is full of suspense, danger, with plenty of heat and I’m sure like me you will be kept on the edge of your seat. This team are certainly full of surprises and I loved the witty banter they shared when looking at the face of danger.this is a series that is getting better with each read as you get to know additional members as well as catching up with the team. Melody Anne teaming up with John Henley has added another dimension to this talented author and they certainly seem to work so well together. Looking forward to the next instalment in the Anderson Special Ops Series.

Finally, some answers

More of Joseph, and this time it's Green's turn, even if we still see plenty of the rest of the team.  This time Hendrick, aka Green, has to go undercover, and finds himself an unexpected ally.  Things get a little blurry for him as he has to endure his mission while trying to find what is going on between him and Mallory.
In this one we still get to follow a little of Joseph Anderson and the rest of the team, with a very fun addition to it in the form of Joseph's granddaughter Jasmine that wants in to whatever they are doing.  We also follow Green as he works and play, but we also get a few more clues about what is going on and who might be involved.  At least now we know who is really involved, even if we are still to see the mastermind.
I like that we saw a little more action this time, even if we are still missing a few key things.  I'm not to happy about the big cliffhanger at the end, but it was a good scene.

So invested in this suspenseful read! This installment in the series focuses on Hendrick and his story of falling in love when he least expected it. Working towards getting information on the senator and finding out what is going on behind the scenes by pretending to date her, Hendrick meets Mallory and finds out that her job within the senator’s life isn’t what it seems. Not only that, but he also finds himself extremely attracted to her and wanting to know more about her what brought her to working for the senator. When Mallory and Hendrick find out they are on the same side of things, they decide to work together while also finally deciding to explore their budding feelings. I was happy that this couple was able to get their HEA, but I found myself extremely intrigued in Jasmine and the role the Anderson’s granddaughter starts to play, as well as the explosive ending! Without giving much away, this book ends on a MAJOR cliffhanger that has me dying for the next installment to get the many questions answered that come about with said cliffhanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The Special Ops team led by Chad Reddington and founded by Joseph Anderson continues on their mission to rid Seattle of the drugs that is destroying the city. They also are trying to get answers to what the US Senator is involved in and how or if Joseph's nephew Damien is involved.

Hendrick "Green" Meeks is caught between two women: a US Senator Anna Miller who has presidential aspirations and her assistant Mallory Black. The senator does everything she can to get her claws into Hendrick. Once Hendrick discovers that Mallory is FBI they will work together to get the information they need. Hendrick gets to the point he can no longer tolerate going along with leading the senator into believing that he is interested in her. He only has eyes and desires for Mallory. The scene between Hendrick and Mallory during a rain storm when they get a flat tire is unforgettable!

The team will get some expected conclusions to the drug underworld mystery and who is behind it. The Anderson family will once again get caught between a life and death situation.

Cleaning Up

I liked Hendrick Meeks (aka Green). He's been a bit of a boy wonder all his life and he's clearly talented and intelligent, in addition to handsome and rich. Now a former SEAL he is working with a team of former special operators to eliminate, as much as they can, the drug underworld in Seattle, Washington. Their investigations have led them to the political world and maybe even to a family member of their benefactor, Joseph Anderson. I also enjoyed Mallory Black, US Senate aide who brings Green more grief than he expects and turns out to be much more than he anticipates. I found the cynicism and negativity about government a bit off putting. Certainly there are issues with some politicians and processes, but assuming all are bad based on their interaction with one bad apple seemed heavy handed. The story didn't reveal any government conspiracy, rather just a greedy, arrogant and power hungry individual. I was also not pleased with the cliff hanger ending of this book. The story was good and the action well played but the unearned political opinions were a bit too much.

Love the story

I took away a star because I was left wondering about why Green thought something strange was going on. It seems I missed something. Actually I went back to check to see if I overlooked what he knee. I still didn't get my answer. It did not change what was going in per se but I feel it should have been answered somewhere on the book. I love love love the ending with the wedding and everything that went on there except for the shooting which again left me wondering what in the world and why would he... Oh maybe he was programmed with the drugs? Hmmmm yeah my guess. So it's a good read . it would be a great read for me if I wasn't left feeling like I missed reading something. I simply love these characters.

Excellent

Green and Mallory's story was excellent! Definitely deserved well over 5 Stars!! Every page was remarkable. The whole array of characters had you eating out of their hands. The plot is definitely thickening. The whole team has you laughing out loud. Even the Anderson family. Green definitely had his hands full with two women. For me, this time, Melody and John came together seamlessly! Bravo! The story flowed as one grand movie with all the feels! Great job! Their cohesiveness was flawless. I had been critical before this story ... wanting these two authors to come together seamlessly and with this third book they finally achieved that! I am so happy with this story. I look forward to Smoke's and Eye's stories.

A curve ball nobody saw!

I love and hate this book at the same time!
I don't want to give any spoilers, so will keep it short.
Green and Mallory are super hot and steamy, the Senator makes you cringe and gives all women a bad name! Eyes and Smoke being brought to their knees...awesome. Jasmine joining the team - she is amazing! The epilogue...haunting!
More black ops, Green goes undercover, Jasmine gets one over on Joseph, we have the promise of more weddings, and babies.....and a nightmare you can see playing out in slow motion, but have no ability to stop. We may not survive if our worst fears are realised after this cliff hanger!

Am Loving This Series

I had thought there was nothing left for Melody Anne to bring to the Joseph Anderson saga. I am embarrassed. After reading each of all of the entire series by Melody Ann I should have known better. Although this military type action series is different from her other offerings she does an excellent job of tying them all together. This book finally brings answers to one important question and I hope it doesn't mean the series end is getting close. I never tire of watching what this family is up to now.

Will leave you wanting more

Family of Anderson are back. When a special ops member goes under cover, he didn't expect to find someone he would care about. Hendricks aka Green, goes under cover to find information about Senator Anna Miller, and the link with Damien Whitfield. But what he hadn't expected is FBI AGENT ALSO UNDERCOVER. . Sparks fly from the moment they are in close contact. The team fight a go fight and see how the pull one over on Joseph Anderson... Love this series..i didn't want it to end.. Knowing what comes next..

Special ops guys are always sexy beasts!

This is Barriers, book 3 of the Anderson Special Ops series, written by Melody Anne and John Henley. Hendricks and Mallory are so much fun to watch as they dance around each other and try to accomplish their own secret missions. We also get to spend time with our beloved Anderson clan. Add some intense plotting and sexy good guys with skills of a special sort and you get this great book! I am now going to sit in the corner and have a meltdown until books 4 and 5 come out!

Book three of this series focusses on Green and Mallory. Nice line "relationships she'd attempted over the past ten years had fizzled faster than Rice Krispies in milk." Lots going on this book with a few Segway's into the next possible chapters, especially with their women aspect near the end, after all the Anderson family is quite large. Loved the curveball and taking a swing. Kendrick is in quite the pickle and he has to find a way out between the two women he's caught between. I will definitely be reading the next chapter.

Barriers

Warning: Cliff Hanger extraordinaire! If you have been reading from the beginning then you know a great deal has been happening. In this book Katherine confronts her attacker with an offer he shouldn't refuse, although Joseph Anderson is not at all happy about the entire situation.
Another SEAL bites the dust, but which woman will actually land him?
The team gets closer to cleaning up the drug mess in Seattle, however have they caused more problems than they can handle?
