Are you in a battle with type 1 or type 2 diabetes? Did you know that over 30 million Americans suffer from diabetes (90 percent of them with type 2) and the ill effects it can cause their bodies? Exposing the Spiritual Roots of Diabetes reveals the unseen forces that trigger disease from within and how we can overcome them. Dr. Henry Wright’s teachings, based on medical findings and powerful biblical truths, affirm that it is God’s will for you to be healthy and whole—in your spirit, soul, and body. If you think you’ve read all you need to know about healing and disease prevention, it’s time to take another look!
Henry W. Wright is the president and founder of Be in Health Global. He was exposed to the power of spiritual healing at an early age when his mother was miraculously cured of terminal cancer and a fatal tumor that was wrapped around her jugular vein. Today, Wright is committed to the belief that human problems are fundamentally spiritual, with associated physical and psychological manifestations. With his pre-med background and insights into the medical as well as the spiritual aspects of disease, he brings a fresh perspective to the process of ministering to the sick. He has presented seminars worldwide and across broad denominational lines for a number of years and is a frequent guest on many well-known television and radio programs.
This book is one that I have been interested in reading since I saw the title. I know several people who have diabetes and I wanted more information about it. The author is very informed about the disease and has done a lot of research on the subject. I like how he uses scriptures throughout the book and emphasizes that God can heal you. Having diabetes can be scary and I always hear that there is no cure for it. But we must remember that God is out healer and nothing is impossible for Him.
It was interesting to read the types of spiritual roots that we may be harboring. I never thought about forgiveness in the way that the author illustrates it in relation to illness. There are some things in the book that I’m not quite sure I agree with. I did have to really take my time reading this book because it has many examples of healing and I wanted to do my own research in the Bible for this subject.
When the author talked about his findings dealing with Type 2 Diabetes he got my attention. “Over the years, I have found a very specific spiritual root associated with type 2 diabetes. In almost all cases that I see, the person struggles with a fear of failing others.” That seemed like such a bold statement and I’m not sure I can agree with this. I do know that stress can cause physical pain and illness . The author does give sound advice about keeping your immune system healthy.
Overall the book is filled with ways to overcome illness like diabetes in spiritual ways. Focusing on the body, soul and mind can help your health. I did like some of the information given but at times I didn’t like the case studies and the references he used about being recommended by people to help them in their battle with an illness. Our mind loves to tell us things that go against the Word of God and in that respect I agree with the author. The enemy wants us to be anxious, fearful and hopeless. God is our healer and it is important to keep ourselves grounded in the Word.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
I have mixed emotions about this book. The author did a good job providing their views and thoughts. It was definitely interesting to read and I can see some of it being true.
As a person who has some health struggles, I like thinking that God can heal anything. And He can! He can heal anything He wants to. But that doesn’t mean He will. It also doesn’t necessarily mean that everything can be cured by simply following these steps or anything.
While I feel that everything that the author said has a kernel of truth and that they are good things to do, I don’t believe necessarily that just by doing them or being in total compliance with the book is going to miraculously cure someone from diabetes.
I don’t have diabetes so I can’t attest to whether it could or not. I would be interested in knowing if anyone has read the book and used it to overcome and be free from diabetes. If you do read the book and use it please let me know!

Exposing the Spiritual Roots of Diabetes is written by Dr. Henry W. Wright. I am always curious to how authors will relate medical issues to spiritual roots. The author uses scriptures throughout the book to show that 80% of our illnesses/diseases have spiritual roots. This is because we may have had a breakdown with our relationship with God. It was interesting to read this perspective. This book will give step by step plans to how to identify the breakdown - I liked the one where he focused on forgiveness. The way he illustrates it and lays it out for you is different then any way that I have ever heard it unpacked for me. He also notes that if you focus on your body, soul and mind - it can help realign everything.
As any self help books, pray that God shows what he wants you to reveal. I know the forgiveness was the lesson that God wanted me to learn while reviewing this book. The book is well written with bible verses to back up his teaching.
I received a copy of this book through the Celebrate Lit Blogging Program, all thoughts are my own.
I was very interested in this book as Type 2 Diabetes is very prevalent on my Dad's side of the Family. Even more so, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes about 5 months ago.
I was very intrigued as I read this book and I really LOVE how Dr. Henry W. Wright explains that Diabetes does have Spiritual Roots. The "root" of many illnesses and diseases is that we ourselves have had a fall in our relationship with God. Dr. Wright gives info about the medical and Spiritual Aspect of healing Diabetes and does so in a very laid out way! Dr. Henry W. Wright gives Scriptures and Biblical references as to how to apply this info to our life so that we can heal from within and get right with God. I must say this book is VERY Thought provoking and the Scriptures are really encouraging. I suggest anyone who reads this book, pray before and after reading and allow God to work in you through this book. I would recommend this to anyone who has Diabetes or is a caregiver to someone with Diabetes. GREAT BOOK!
This is an interesting book. It is quite obvious the author has done a lot of research and knows a lot about the disease. I know quite a few people with diabetes as well and was intrigued by the description. The author uses Biblical scriptures and explains his points fairly well throughout.
I am not sure I agree with him on quite a few of the points he makes, but it is a book that I will have to do some more research. Realistically I know I don't agree with him on a couple points, but I do know that our mental health affects our overall health and can cause some issues.
3/5
Thank you to the author/publisher for the review copy of this book via Celebrate Lit. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
As I began reading this book, I felt like the author put a lot of time into presenting his point of view and supported it with Scriptural references. I also agree that sometimes diseases result from breakdowns in our relationships with God. However, I also believe that other causes for diseases also occur. If you suffer from diabetes, or know someone who does, I definitely believe this book might be helpful.
The author presents steps to overcome the disease and restore a right relationship with God. One thing I feel a need to caution about regarding this book stems from the constant promotion of the author’s retreats. So check out this book for yourself.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” – Proverbs 13:12
This was a thought-provoking book, and it gave me quite a bit to chew on. I loved that it provides both Biblical understanding to our battles and ways to apply them to our lives. Although this book is not a cure-all, I enjoyed the insight into possible causes and how they relate to our thoughts. It definitely gave me the opportunity to reflect on my thoughts, and take some things to the Lord in prayer.

Non-fiction is definitely not one of those genres I willingly pick up unless its something that captivates me or want to learn more from. This was not it for me but I will say that the author definitely knows this topic of diabetes and he believes that the disease stems from a spiritual battle within ourselves. He gives lots of examples of healing in the Bible so if you are not willing to put some effort in doing your own research and dig deep in the Word then I don't think you will get much out of this book.

Henry W. Wright gives his thoughts on how to can overcome diabetes in his newest release, Exposing the Spiritual Roots of Diabetes: Powerful Answers for Healing and Disease Prevention. It was interesting how he uses the power of God to help those to heal from disease. Even though I am not diabetic, I did find some inspiration and principles that I should live by and stay healthy with a wonderful life outlook.
Exposing the Spiritual Roots of Diabetes: Powerful Answers for Healing and Disease Prevention is getting four stars from me. I recommend it for readers who are diabetic and looking for some inspiration about their disease.
I received a digital copy of Exposing the Spiritual Roots of Diabetes: Powerful Answers for Healing and Disease Prevention from the publisher but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
Highly recommended! You want to be set free? This is a must read book!
My goodness!!!! This book has been such a blessing in my life. I could not put this book down. As I read it, it has taken me through a process of deliverance. Now I can say that my prayer and relationship with God is so different and pure. GOD is so faithful! I definitely recommend this book to everyone!
As a diabetic for a number of years, I was intrigued by the book Exposing the Spiritual Roots of Diabetes. I hoped to gain some knowledge that would at least help work with my meds to help control my glucose levels more efficiently. Naturally I’d love to be healed from this awful condition if possible.
This book is much more than I expected. Not only does it explain how diabetes affects the body and some of the spiritual issues that may be responsible for it as well as keeping it active. The doctor also goes into detail about how the body works and how our minds affect crucial systems within our bodies. To top it off, this book has a clear explanation complete with a wealth of scripture to back it up of how our relationship to the Lord affects every aspect of our lives, even our health.
This is one book that not only applies to diabetes but probably every other disease that affects us. With detailed scripture, the doctor shows us how to apply Biblical truth to our lives in order to develop the relationship we need and the faith that results from it.
Obviously, overcoming physical disease will not be an easy one time fix but will require concentrated effort toward recognizing the problem, repentance, and drawing closer to the Lord. Exposing the Spiritual Roots of Diabetes would make an excellent Bible study and a personal handbook for deep study.
