I really love how this short Christian story moved me. It gave tears in my eyes. Very beautiful and with such lovely meaning, it makes me feel closer to God!

It is rare for my kids to get quiet and thoughtful while I read a story to them. It is even more rare for them to pause and sit quietly after I've read to them. That alone is worthy of a 5 star review. The illustrations and flow are great too and make this an enjoyable book to read aloud too.

I had already heard of this particular legend although I am not quite sure which format it was in but it most definitely charmed me upon my first taste of it and its wonderful lesson. As a result it is one of my most often go-to Christian legends when I am done.
This version of the legend basically follows the same format as most of the others as it introduces the reader to characters that would have normally been just indirect witnesses to the events of the Bible. As a result the stories mentioned are actually quite recognizable to many Christians and their families thus helping the reader to see biblical events from quite a different perspective.
The writing in this particular version is quite easy-to-read and understand so many age groups will be able to enjoy it although the much in-depth story will probably only keep the attention of older kids and above. There are no hard words and although the information for the state of the trees is more fiction than fact the trees themselves are quite relatable even for being characters that don't speak.
What I love the most about this version are the beautiful illustrations that are included within the story. They are bright, very detailed and much resemble scenic watercolors that will charm those who love nature art.
All in all it is quite a nice little legend and one that will help to remind readers that sometimes broken plans lead to greater paths. As a result I highly recommend this read at least once for Christian families while it can probably be used as a supplementary read for parts of the Bible that focus on But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. ~Gen 50:20

I read this book when I was a little kid. I never liked to read much for my age at the time, but this book intrigued me like no other and I never forgot it. Reading it now and remembering the deep spiritual insight contained within was a breath of fresh air. Definitely a book for ALL ages to read and to treasure.

What a thoughtful and beautifully illustrated book. This legend tells the story of trees that are cut down from the forest and would go on to be part of major events in the life of Jesus. The illustrations were captivating and fit the mood of the overall story. A great book that I remember reading around Christmas and Easter time.

I'm not going to lie I might have cried when I read this book, but it was just so special. I love how the author shows that even though you have plans for your life, God has bigger and better plans. Each tree had a desire to be something significant, but God used them for something extraordinary. I would recommend this book to be read to any elementary level.

I first read this while babysitting a 9-year-old for a few days while her parents were away. I found this on the nightstand of the room where I slept. Wonderful book! I gave a copy as a gift for a friend’s toddler’s birthday party.

Love the concept, but felt like the ending was a letdown

The story of life told through the eyes and hearts of three trees. This is a great story for younger readers.

A sweet, simplified rendition of The Tale of the Three Trees. The longer version is much richer, but this one is appropriate for younger children.

Tale of Three Trees is a folktale written for children from the ages of 2-4. This is a wonderful story that teaches children that God has a plan for everyone even a tree. This is a very endearing and tear jerking story about the holiday known to most as "Easter Sunday" and to others as "Resurrection Sunday". The story is about three trees that have varying dreams for their future. In the end, God had very specific and special plans for each and every one of the trees. I love this book because it helps to remind us that God is never too busy for us and if He has plans for a tree that he definitely remembers the plan that He has for each of us. Even though the trees dream doesn't come the way that they expected, God was still faithful and their dreams came true in ways that they could have never imagined. I believe that this book would help anyone to understand that we need to trust God with the outcome of our lives knowing that He will go above and beyond what we could ever hope, wish or dream for our lives. This book would be a welcome addition to any home, school or church library and is simple enough even for a small child to understand and for adults to reflect back on. The illustrations put you in the mind of a Walt Disney cartoon, and a very crisp and clear. The text in the book is very simple and will not overwhelm the youngest of readers. This book teaches us that the ultimate goal is to serve God in all that we do and be a yielded vessel to be used however God sees fit. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

This is a fable about three trees (olive, oak, and pine). Each had big dreams that its wood would become significant (treasure box, ship, and an arrow to heaven). None of the specific dreams came true, but each was significant.
The olive tree became an animal feeding box in the manger Jesus was born in. It served as his bassinet.
The oak tree became a simple fishing boat that carried Jesus.
And the pine tree became a cross on which Jesus was crucified.
God's ways are not always our ways, but they are the best ways.

I read this with my boys tonight and continually got choked up. Towards the end I admit that I broke into tears and had to stop until I pulled myself together. This is a beautiful story with a very valuable lesson to young children. Adults could use the reminder too!!!

A very sweet book about how the Lord is aware of our dreams and righteous desires. Though they don't always come true in the way we imagined, they do come true. His plan is always better than ours. Definitely want to own this one!

This is the story of three trees that have big dreams, but their big dreams are fulfilled in ways they don't expect. Each one gets to play a role in Christ's life. It is a very sweet book.

there are many different kinds of legends that was brought on by how trees have grown. One is Johnny apple seed planted all the apple trees. Mother nature helped plant some of the other trees.
