The Nannies #7

The Beast's Nanny

Rate this book
When Grace pays for a customer’s breakfast, she assumes she’s just doing a favor for a miserable man. But he repays her by kidnapping her. Before he took her, she was living a normal life, worrying about bills and money. Now she’s a nanny for his nephew, the cutest little boy she’s ever met.

Caleb Raine is a beast, having built his reputation from the ground up. All he knows is betrayal and pain. On one of the hardest days of his life, Grace is a beacon of light. He wants her, and he’s used to getting what he wants.

She’s everything he’s not used to—a woman who cares, who loves. When he offers her an ultimatum, he expects her to reject it. For a year, she'll be his personal fuck toy in exchange for her freedom. He doesn’t expect to crave her or need her.

Taking her is easy. Keeping her is even easier. Falling in love with her, though, that’s not part of the plan.

Sam Crescent

Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

When you first meet Caleb he is a jerk and a asshole he kidnapped Grace for 2 reasons to watch his nephew and become she is so sweet and nice he has to have her.

There relationship is very rocky at first and the banter between the two was sassy and kinda jerky. We also have family moments between all three and its cute but the drama is coming for the "lil" family. Also both are fighting there feelings they tried to keep it as "just sex".

No ow/om drama, No cheating, drama, sexy times, virgin gal and sorta playboy (wasn't shown)

Really loved this one by SC. i always love a conquering hero romance where the hero will do whatever it takes to claim the heroine. He was hard and slightly cruel and he wanted the heroine but was totally clueless of how deeply he felt for her. And not too much was made about his past which was great. Only a couple mentions.

Safe. Hero’s past is mentioned briefly. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero. No others, no cheating and no abuse. HEA with epilogue

Forced into caring

With each new book this series just gets better and better. This story starts out with a scene from a nightmare and ends with a HEA that is meant to last. I love how the characters relationship grew and expanded until it was full of joy and love. And what good romance doesn’t have the bad guy trying to ruin everything. The author did a fantastic job with this story and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

At first I didn't like Caleb but as the story went on, he changed my mind about him! LOL Grace is a strong woman who gets kidnapped by Caleb to care for his nephew, James. The connection between Grace and little James is beautiful and Caleb hates the fact that he is becoming attached to her. He's not a good man and he has enemies that are after him. He thinks he's just using her for se# but when the enemy targets her and James, things have a way of changing! He doesn't want to fall in love because he doesn't believe in it, plus there's the fact that he feels guilty over his sister's death. Will he change his mind? I love that Grace challenged him at every turn and didn't put up with some of his stuff! (you know I can't say that word) This is a wonderful addition to this series and is a standalone. Loved the epilogues of course because I like seeing where the characters are down the road. And I would love to see James get a story when he gets older!!!! I feel he needs one!!

The writing of Ms. Crescent is superb. She takes what appears to be the dregs of society and shows him to be something more. There were many times I wanted to hurt the man myself, but Grace handles everything he does to her and throws at her in stride and never waivers. Both characters are fleshed out clearly and leaves the reader on the same relationship wave as Caleb and Grace. I highly recommend The Beast’s Nanny to any reader who desires a true alpha in their life.

I loved this book. Older man and younger woman. A exciting, emotional and entertaining storyline. The characters were an interesting pair, complete opposites. Caleb is a complete arse and arrogant jerk when you first meet him, actually he is on and off through the whole story., while Grace is lightness and goodness all rolled up into one sweet person. He does redeem himself at times and he did have a really horrid upbringing, but you want to reach into the pages and hit him up side his head at times. Grace is such a great nanny to James, and his a real sweetie. They do make a really great couple who eventually find their HEA.

We have another Nannies book from one of my favorite Sam Crescent series (well, not MC related) and it was trying at times. I loved Grace from the first page. Caleb goes through the stages of really hating this jerk to understanding (barely, at times) where he's coming from in regards to everything in his life. However, he does love James and will do anything for him. This will include Grace. Interesting story, but I did enjoy it by the end. And I love Sam's epilogues! She writes the best epilogues and it doesn't leave you feeling like you don't know what happens to the characters in the future.

I made it to the end

I found this on Instagram and instead of reading a pirated version, I paid too much on Kindle. There are poor transitions, repeated paragraphs indicating a lack of editing, and the overall writing is stilted and cliche. The overall story of beauty and the beast just doesntbwork; one sentence, the FL is being threatened or abused and the next, she makes excuses for the ML's behavior and is in luv for no reason except "he needs love". Classic enabler and manipulation themes that play out too often in real life. The old adage, "if he shows you who he is, believe him" is never more true.

Very much enjoyed and highly recommend

The beast is very entertaining with his anger and posturing. Such a savage beast. h is very likable from my point of view, she carries the storyline well. Young boy(age 3) James is a great binding character, he really brings these two lovers together.
There is great chemistry and heat between these two. Both are likable characters. Storyline was well paced and never felt rushed or choppy. Best Easter Gift.

Beyond Poor Writing…Try something else

This book has some pretty poor writing right from the start. The story is written in third person, which I don’t mind typically. But because the story switches between past tense and present tense almost immediately when you start, it’s really hard to follow along. Maybe I’m biased and being too judgemental, I honestly didn’t even get past the first page. But I was genuinely confused on page 1, chapter 1, by paragraph 2.

I think approaching 40 me has a different taste than 30 year old me! This is Stockholm syndrome. Plain and simple! No redeeming qualities when she was first abducted, it's all her fault cause she was been nice to a stranger. That's the moral point, be rude to stranger and don't act kindly !

Wasn't really my thing. A kidnapper who forces her to be a ... nanny? Extorts her with a sex-for-your-freedom offer, but every time they're about to have sex, he leaves the room. He says "no" more than she does! Not much of a beast in this beauty and the beast tale.

Just ok

This one had potential but just missed the mark for me. Too much information is crammed into a short story while still missing important information. I wanted to like it but it was just ok.

eh

He stole her but kept hot and cold. I’m not a fan of redundant paragraphs. I felt that he kept repeating himself. You’re the big bad… we got it. Then he put her in her own place for 0.5 seconds….

I loved Grace. She was loving and kind, but she grew into her dirty. And she did not take any stuff from Caleb. This was a great story!

Estuvo entretenido. El cliché del secuestro no es de mis favoritos, lo suelo evitar como la peste, pero estuvo bien y fácil de leer.

This series started out strong but seems to be getting more disjointed and clunky as they go along. Even being only 150 pages this felt very long and drawn out.
