This book provides a fascinating insider look into the changes in utopian-dystopian news coverage of silicon valley and tech giants - the breadth of evidence and detail in this book is superb! I was specifically impressed by the number of journalists interviewed for this project, who were able to shed light on how the coverage changed and shifted over time. I was curious to learn the background story of the Techlash and discovered much more than that. It wasn’t only the 4 years of having Trump in office (good riddance) but also numerous stories that I wasn’t aware of. The amount of arguments and counterarguments about the tech companies’ behavior and their coverage in the media was overwhelming. This book is narrowly focused and adds a lot of unique research to its specific field. If you are wondering why and how there’s a techlash with quantities and qualitative data, this is your book.
