Sovieshu is the typical egotistical bastard who wants to have best of both worlds and doesn't appreciate either. He's like "Navier is cold and heartless" and "Rashta is naive and if she gets educated she won't be fun anymore". Dude, nobody likes you.
"That woman is willing and able to sway public opinion for her own personal interests. I can't do the same. I am the empress. I must consider the empire and its citizens."
SQUEALS! Another very fantastic volume! (AND THAT QUOTE!!)
At first, I found myself SUPER dreading reading, but ONLY because Trashta seems to have a lot of page time, and just UGH! Granted, it WAS scary hearing what happened to her in this volume, but I get more and more frustrated with her and the Emperor. Like do they really not see how atrocious it is to say Navier will be the adoptive mother of their child without even talking to Navier?? Do they not see how horrible that is in general because they're just using Navier's status and could care less for her, her feelings, or her wellbeing. UGH!!
Enter Navier's brother though. Look, I don't know if that man is considered a "red flag" because of his actions, but I am allllll here for this man! (Though I do NOT agree with how he went about things in that one situation at the beginning!) The way he stands up for his sister and gets angry on her behalf is EVERYTHING! I enjoyed(??) seeing him force out answers of a certain character because no one outside of him (Navier's brother) and her ladies-in-waiting even seem to care about Navier, which is horrible because she deserves nothing but happiness!
While Heinrey *barely* has any page time, I appreciate the times we DO see him, especially his knight who is delivering his letters! He is SO expressive and it brings some much-needed humor when I'm ticked off at the two characters that should not be named. Moving on though, Heinrey continues to be absolutely amazing! I love him and Navier together so much!! <3 <3 <3
Lebetti is so so so sweet! I DEEPLY liked her character and very much enjoyed seeing her friendship with Navier flourish!
Definitely another great volume where Navier slays like the Empress she is and me wishing Heinrey can hurry up and sweep her off her feet!
Oh. My. God. This story isn't just drama, it's DRAMA, and if you don't like being frustrated or being torn between hating characters and kind of understanding why they're acting the way they are, by this point you've probably dropped this series. But if it's flown under your radar and you like pseudo-19th century court fantasy drama or just need an excuse to be angry about something fictional, you ought to be reading this. It's the right kind of enraging.
Volume 4: Episode 46-58 The empress is barren?! Really? That's your point? For shame! The empress brother, Lord Kosair though. He wakes up and chooses violence all the time. What a loyal but unhinged man.
Heinrey makes a mighty fine King. All that's missing is his soon-to-be Queen. Whatever you're doing to get your ultimate love, Empress Navier, is very strategic and Duke Ergi's manipulations must be a part of your plan if he's feeling guilty about the issues he's raising around the empress. The emperor, on the other hand, looks like he has feelings for the empress but that's not the way to gain her affections. It'll just push her away and it will be his loss. And now, you're about to divorce her, I can't wait for everything to backfire on you.
I knew it. I KNEW IT!! Heiney was not to be trusted!! Now I want her with the Grand Duke more than ever!! Grrrrrr….see, this is why I hate politics, even in fiction.
And the mistress and the emperor are still trash.
I love Navier’s doting brother though. The scenes where he is throwing hands to protect his sister are very cathartic. I don’t approve of violence, but it’s more defensive, not the first punch.
4, Navier needs to run off with the Grand Duke and get away from all of that crazy, stars.

I don’t really know which book equals what episodes but whatever .Firstly Kosier , taking matters into your own hands and throwin them around is def it , but ummm maybe be a little less obvious ? The brotherly love and defensiveness is cute , now give her hell ! Nothing much has changed in terms of Sovieshu and rashta . Theyr both still infuriating and stupid . Sovieshu really talks of love and being fair after what he did ? I have never been excited for a divorce , it’s odd but boy am I ! Also yes I’m still in love with Navier
it really triggers me to read sovieshit taking trashta's side everytime... i mean how can you not love someone like navier she is the real empress and she deserves everything but this man is not capable of realizing her worth
The empress and her brother are by far the most interesting characters in this series. Is it too much to ask to make them the only plot points for my own personal enjoyment? Seriously though, if this series was just about them I would still read it
uff aqui se ciemza a complicar la cosa. Rashta mas ambiciosa, Navier intentando averiguar todo y el hermano de Navier que esta bien loco entra al juego 😅
Ugh! Rashta is sooooo annoying yet sometimes I feel bad for her. She was a slave, she had hardships to deal with but seriously get a grip girl and be dignified. At least now. She has become a manipulative woman for her and her unborn child's sake. She isn't even making an effort toward the child she already has out there, after knowing that he is alive and well. She is letting herself be blackmailed by Lord Lotteshu. Now if she only comes clean to Sovieshu who is head over heels for her, things might get better for her. But NOOOOOO!!! She is playing a bad game of creating rumours to save her face.
I love how Navier is always tolerant and authoritarian. She never loses her temper in any conflict. She has the best responses to any situation and doesn't need manipulation to get ahead. She truly is a remarkable Empress.
I see that Sovieshu is kinda hoping for Navier to get pregnant instead of Rashta. He does love both of them. His feelings are wavering between the two. All the young Navier flashback makes me wonder why she had to become so stoic and rigid. But I guess these are good qualities for a good Empress, and without that, all you get is someone loose and very unintelligible on the throne. Sovieshu in some scenes is asking Navier to smile as she used to when they were kids and I see him yearning for Navier's love. Now I don't get why she doesn't love him. Has she fallen out of love with him or has she never fallen in love in the first place with him? Because they were married very young and she doesn't know what love is at all. And that's why she is attracted to Heinrey now because he stands out, has a fresh presence in her life and yet she is bound to the throne that she just can't think of him as a lover. She also questioned what love is and what jealousy is, and I think she is discovering these new feelings all the while being in this scandalous situation.
My God the Empress is perfect. Too perfect sometimes.
The story is getting so much better... I just can't wait for the finale.
