Have you ever wondered what it was like for Eve to be the first woman, created as an adult but with the mind of a child? What must it have been like for Deborah to be the only female judge in Israel’s history? Ever considered how Esther felt about being chosen as queen in the ungodly kingdom of Persia—particularly when she’d have to share her husband with a harem? What mus ...more

C.A. Gray is a truly talented author. I absolutely loved these Biblical stories written from the perspectives of female characters. What’s even better is that she focuses on stories in chronological order starting with Eve all the way to two perspectives of Mary for the resurrection of Jesus. I found the book very inspiring.

Two of the women have entire books with their stories (Esther and Ruth), and Sarah has a fair bit in Scripture, and I pondered whether it was

I absolutely love these Biblical retelling by C. A. Gray. The stories take life and leap off the page, and I feel like I’m right there in the story as the characters become 3 dimensional. It helps not only to understand the emotions, feelings and turmoil that accompany the facts of the stories, but also to help the reader see themselves in the story. And I have to say this is the best one yet. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s about women of the Bible and as a woman I can relate or that the auth ...more
