Rebel Vipers MC #1

Whiskey on the Rocks

Rate this book
Kiana

I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure my sister's missing. So, I go to the last place I know she was - the Rebel Vipers MC clubhouse.

I've been on my own the last few years and having to ask for help isn't something I like to do. Right now I don't have any other choice. I can't find my sister and these brutes might be able to help me, so I'll take any assistance I can get.

His offer of help was great until he starts to order me around like I'm one of his people. But for some reason, his dominance doesn't turn me off . . . it turns me on.

Whiskey

The second she appeared at the clubhouse gate, I was thrown for a loop. I'm the Prez of my club and I don't take shit from anybody, not even a fiery, pissed off woman who's got one hell of an ass.

Then she tells me why she's here, prompting me to figure out what the f**k's going on in my town. It's bad enough her sister's missing, but there's other shit in play here. I try to stay optimistic at first, but I soon realize we're up against something we've never faced before.

If that wasn't bad enough, what the hell am I supposed to do when the duchess I've come to care for won't accept my claim?

Good read. Whiskey and Duchess had great chemistry, I wished it focused more on the plot though.

I liked this story but it fell short for me. I felt like it was just throwing these characters into situations only to have them try to dig themselves out of the mess that the author created. Yes I understand the view of the author but I did not understand her thinking when she set these characters. I also did not like the fact that this book was more about the relations than the story. There was a numerous amount of passion within the pages but the writing was good! The writing flowed but the story itself I just could not get into. I really wanted to like this story and connect with these characters but it did not go far enough for me to be able to link with these characters. Will I read this author again why heck YES! Her writing is not the problem I think it was the way she developed her characters for me to engage with. But that is my issue not hers. All in all I will be looking for this author in the future!

DNF—I can’t do it. The bad dialogue. I can handle rough writing for my biker romances but the dialogue has to feel like real people are speaking. Harsh words, but needs to be said.

I like MC books and I love strong female characters. This was completely annoying though. I was trying to struggle along but then got to this portion where Whiskey lays down the law about her not being too sassy with him. No da— way does a guy talk to a girl like this and she jumps on him to kiss him. Nope. DONE!

“I know you’re angry, but I will not let you speak to me that way. I’m the man here and you’ll listen to what I say and not argue with me. Until I have more information, I can’t tell you any more. This is club business, so you don’t need to know every detail. Do not make me repeat myself. Do I make myself clear?” His eyes are bright blue, but you can only see a bit of silver because his pupils are dilated. And the woodsy and leather smell coming from his t-shirt and vest are intoxicating. I don’t know what comes over me, but having him be this hot and aggressive right in front of my face proves to be too much for me to hold myself back. I move my head forward that last inch and kiss the hell out of him, throwing my arms around his neck and pushing him backward.

Kiana knows her sister is missing and she wants answers. Kiana never agreed with the fact that her younger sister wanted to be part of a MC club but she accepted her decisions as long as they stayed in touch. After several weeks pass and no contact, Kiana head to the Rebel Vipers MC for answers and gets in the face of MC president Whiskey.

Whiskey doesn't like the fact that Kiana has low opinions of his club but he plans to correct her assumption's as well as find out what happened to her sister. Something is going on in town and he wants answers, but he also knows that Kiana is the woman he wants to make his old lady. Can he get her to take a chance on him?

This was fun, I was anxious to see what happened to Kiana's sister as no one realized she was missing, they thought she went home. Great story and a terrific way to start new series.

Great New Find

This is a first time author for me and she has me hooked. Whiskey is the Prez for the Rebel Vipers MC and he is definitely an alpha. Kiana comes to his clubhouse looking for her sister who seems to have gone missing. She is a spit fire who wants nothing to do with Whiskey but he is about to change her mind. This was a fast paced page turner. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

I found the writing to be totally immature and childish.
Really stupid dialogues and they totally forget that there is a "missing sister" and go about their lives fuckin' and celebrating Halloween and so on.

Needs Help

The Start of the Book was the best part. After that it became a Rech on how I wrote a MC Book. The meeting between the two Main characters was cookie cutter and did not feel authentic.

I think the Author needs more experience.

Whiskey on the Rocks by Jessa Aarons is fast paced hot sensual romance story that was full of suspense, drama and violence and so much more. This was a solid biker romance. For some reason, I feel like Biker romances tend to be very fast past in terms of building the love connection between two characters. I felt the same with this novel.

Even though this novel is fast past, it was very enjoyable to read. I love the name " Whisky on the Rocks," it's so fun and creative. The biker's names were amazing to read about. I love that we got to see a prospect patch in.

This book hits all the high notes for me and is a good one to read if you want an MC romance fix. But like I mentioned, it was a fast paste for character development and could have used maybe a flashback or two. I just wanted more backstory, especially for our Heroine past.

But I did love how she came in with all guns and fire trying to find her sister. That could just be what I am used to but, overall it is a great read. Sexy Funny and very Enjoyable.

I liked the story. It was fairly good for a new series. Whiskey and Kiana are strong characters and their chemistry towards each other works as soon as they meet. Whiskey is the President of the Rebel Vipers MC and and Kiana comes to the Rebel Vipers clubhouse to look for her sister Wings who is a club girl and has been missing for 2 weeks. Over the next month Whiskey tries to help Kiana find her sister. But nothing shows on the radar of where she could be. But Whiskey and Kiana relationship goes to her becoming Whiskey's Old Lady. Now the reason I gave it 4 stars was because I felt there were some under answer questions. Like after 3months of being missing Wings shows up at the club house after being kidnapped by a rival club. And there is the mysterious man name Bullet who is the leader of that club that kind of left who wondering. Also there was a secret that Wings told Kiana about Hammer one of the club's brother and Whiskey's best friend. Hoping maybe future books will reveal the answers. Read and Enjoy.

Had the potential to be great but was let down by several things.

Dialogue- so corny it was embarrassing.

The plot was almost all but forgotten. Forget her sisters been sold to sex traffickers, she carries on as normal. Bizarre

The way she talks to Whiskey when she first meets him is just plain ridiculous. He isn't much better tbh.

Insta love- he's claiming her after a couple of days!

They have sex for the first time- think a day after she arrives. No condom, no contraception and they dont even get a shower when they get up. Sorry I don't know any women who has a man ejaculate in her and she doesn't shower before dressing. Thats just plain skanky. Then she comes out the shower all stupid. Seriously this woman is pathetic.

Her business is all but forgotten cos right you can do that yeah n then at the very end she slips in oh she just hired 2 new people cos small businesses can afford to do that easily right.

She never asked if he'd slept with her sister! We only find out at the very end that yes he did and they had discussed that. Nice! It doesn't bother her hed had sex with her sister. Skanky

No Scottish IS British!! They have a British passport - do your research ffs

At times the writing was childish and so over the top girly.

Skimmed to the end just bored.

The only reason I'm reading book two is because its a mmf and I love menage otherwise no chance. I have low expectations

Boring list of mundane, unimportant, everyday actions that readers surely do not want ir need to read. 'I went to the bathroom, I took a shower,  I took a leak, I brushed my teeth, I brushed my hair, I pulled my hair back and tied it with an elastic, I pulled my jeans on, followed by my boots, I had a coffee, I took a sip of ny coffee, I walk out my door, I pull the door closed behind me'. I couod go on but enough said to show it's seriously boring.

The dialogue was stilted, instead of him asking 'why were you about to knock on my door', something like 'what's up', is more fitting. The writing was just so flat, dull and paint by numbers. The story was cliche and the hero sounded like an idiot when he described a Mexican wave in detail, like a five year old would and thinks he doesn't know what 'clear as a sky' means. Maybe that's because it should be as clear as a cloudless sky. I did wonder if English was even this person's third language, let alone first, and I refuse to call them an author. Eye roll bad.

DNF

I'm an extremely lenient reader. I can put up with bad grammar, spelling, first person, third person, etc. I read for the story. I believe the premise of this story had some good bones. But the execution was crap. All the characters were unlikable, nasty to each other, no real compassion or communication. Not only was the writing stilted, but so was the dialog. This is the worst MC I have ever read. The leader lead with emotion instead of logic. Sex replaced conversation quite a bit. I read a third of the way but couldn't take anymore. Fast forward to the last five chapters and the missing girl conveniently rescues herself? And the sisters are nasty to each at their reunion. Nope. Crappy story. I'm done.

Her sister Temperance hasn’t contacted her in two weeks, which makes Kiana more than a little worried and upset. Even more so when she finds out that her sister isn’t with the bikers at the Rebel Vipers MC clubhouse. Hot headed tempers, it seems, are not just Tempy’s forte, especially when it seems like she is butting up against a brick wall as far as information about Tempy’s whereabouts. Kiana doesn’t need a headache as well as a heartache when it comes to that guy called Whiskey.

Whiskey didn’t know that Wings was even missing until her sister came and started making a lot of noise. He thought she and Hammer had argued and that Wings had moved back home to her sister Kiana’s house for a while, then comes the realization that something had to have happened because she isn’t either place and its not like Wings to leave without telling her sister where she would go. Add to that an attempted kidnapping of another club girl, and Whiskey suddenly has a whole lot of trouble, the lease of which is the beautiful red headed Kiana.

With very little information to figure out what is going on, Whiskey and Kiana find themselves in the middle of a dangerous mystery. Plot twists and surprises abound. Just when you think you have everything figured out, that is when the plot upends and changes direction. This was, quite honestly, a fun book to read, despite the dark plots and setting. The characters were very relatable and made me think of living in a dorm full of guys being guys instead of stiff and broken men. I especially loved Mountain and his wife. Even though they were not the main characters, they accentuated the story and brought out a feeling of family in a way that would have been missed without them. Their tenderness with Kiana and concern for Whiskey and the MC members really fills out the “Home Sweet Home” vibes.

Obviously, I enjoyed reading this one very much. I can’t wait to see what else is brewing for the Rebel Vipers MC in the future.

What a disaster of a book. Where do I even start? Okay so overall I’m just confused it’s a very inconsistent book and quite childish. Sorry let me rephrase very childish. They fell in love overnight nothing really bad happens. The men are very sappy not the typical stereotyped biker which is fine but it was too much. I’ve never gotten the ick over a book before but the men in this was given me the ick. Although there is sx they’re not as crude it’s more innuendos. For example, they’d get shy over talking about it, they say it understand of sx, they say I’ll do that thing you like.. LIKE NO UW! Just say it it’s a biker book for godsake it’s meant to be crude and no filter. Very inconsistent with the fmc not seeing her sister at all when she was in the clubhouse because she doesn’t like bikers but meats one and now forgets she doesn’t like them anymore and there’s no problems like okay we’re just going to forget that then? The author also skips over the important parts and then it just feels so dragged on. And the important parts are so vital you only found out some in the end like the mc has slept with the fmc sister I’m sorry but WHAT?! Nope had I known that I’d not have read that’s disgusting. But again it was skipped over like nothing. The entire book was about the sister being missing and by the last page she’s found but not because their looking noooooo they’re too busy falling in love and being happy she just appears and then tells the fmc a secret but as a reader they don’t tell you like???? Not sure if the author is just new or if there was confusion when writing it cause it’s all over the place! Not for me but I did give two stars as I see somewhat potential but not an author I’ll read from again.

After reading the last biker romance series I really needed something I’d enjoy, I found a few lists of recommendations for MC books and the description for this series seemed right up my ally, I wanted something full of action, suspense and a lot of plot line that was fast paced and feeling like a life inside a biker club.

I think this book was right up there! It ticked all my boxes, the main character Kiana shows up to the Rebel Vipers MC club house after not hearing from her sister for two weeks, only to find Whiskey has no idea where she is, she left to visit her sister and hasn’t been seen since.

This book has a long plot line and one which is very fast paced. Which I very much enjoyed, there was action of one form or another in every single chapter. I love that we see the whole story of this couple go from strangers through to lovers and everything in between. I will say if your not familiar with how biker romances or biker books/ tv shows generally go then I don’t think this would be enjoyable. I saw a lot of similarities between this book and some of the plots in my favourite biker show, although the book follows a very different and unique story line, it’s the sense of brotherhood and family, the clubs main feel that I saw the connection to.

Now onto the spice, whew did I enjoy the spice level in this book. I’d say that it’s about a 4* on spice. You need to know that if your not into dominance from a male character then your not your going to like this book at all. It feeds into the concept that bikers are big burly men who will protect a woman and will want her do exactly as they are told, no questions asked. It’s part of the lifestyle. While I’m not attracted to that in any way, I kind of love the dominant aspect in the setting of a biker world. I think it definitely adds to this books feel. I love that Kiana is a strong woman and knows how to tame the main male character Whiskey and when to listen to what he’s saying. It’s a duo that gels well and this adds to the spice, keeping the scenes fresh.

A book I highly recommend and am excited to see where these characters end up through the other books which focus on other couples. I already have a few characters from the bikers I’m interested in finding out much more about!

This is a first in new series and it starts out interesting especially when Kiana and Whiskey first meet she gives him sass and he likes it but he's also irritating by it because he's the President of the Rebel Vipers MC and know one talks back to him. The mystery that brings them together is interesting Tempy (Wings) Kiana's younger sister is missing she's a club girl and yes it's exactly what you think a pass around girl but know one new she was missing and everyone thought she was with Kiana this was a good plot line but then it just disappeared for awhile and it was all about Kiana and Whiskey you are only given so much as too why things are happening but you never really find out who's behind it all only some of the players are mentioned. There is a HEA for Kiana now Duchess and Whiskey but there were parts I didn't care for slight spoiler when Duchess disappeared Whiskey lost it and his Sgt. At arms took over this just felt wrong in the plot of the book. And one other issue for me Kiana is independent at the beginning owns her own business but then it too took a back seat and almost disappeared from the storyline this book had some highs and lows but I am at least interested in the second book and I hope that in the next book the inconsistent plot holes get plugged up.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review I also purchased a copy as well.

I absolutely loved Whiskey on the Rocks! I read it in one night; I just could not put it down. The characters are realistic and compelling, and the storyline is very engaging. Kiana is a sassy, feisty, strong businesswoman who loves her sister, Tempy (aks Wings), and wants to make sure she is okay. Whiskey (aka Conner) is the President of the Rebel Vipers MC and is a second-generation Rebel Vipers. His dad, Mountain (aka Jethro), is the former president. He and Blue raised Whiskey when his Mom died. Blue is also his mother's sister. It is not so complicated. Let's not even talk about what is going on with Wings and Hammer. Hammer is also a second-generation Viper and the MC's Enforcer and Whiskey's best friend.

The storyline is full of MC type of action; an almost love at first sight kind of thing between Kiana (who becomes Duchess) and Whiskey, well, at least some intense lust, a few twists, a what the heck is going on kind of mystery, and it begins and ends with a bit of a surprise. Kiana becoming Duchess is one of my favorite scenes in the story. I can hardly wait to see how the whole Penelope story plays out!

Note that there are some elements of murder, human trafficking, kidnapping, and violence that some may find triggering.

This plot line has been done before, so I was really interested to see how the author was going to put their own spin on it. Kiana's sister is a club girl for the Rebel Vipers MC, but she's vanished into thin air. With no word on where Tempy might be, Kiana's heading to the clubhouse to demand answers. She'll get more than she's bargained for as Whiskey isn't about to let her go.

It's not a bad story, but I feel like the original plot takes a backstage to the romance between Kiana and Whiskey. It's almost like it's an after thought that stalls out half way through the book. From a reading stand point, it doesn't appear that the brothers are actively searching for her as it's done off page. It just seems that clues pop out at random to advance the story in the weirdest places. Some things could have been tweaked to be more believable.

However, there are some warm moments between the brothers and showcase the family interactions. It was really nice to see road names that were completely different than other series. I am a little disappointed though that the next book appears to be a different couple than I expected. It's ok. I may still continue the series just to see if things get better. Overall, not bad for a first book to a new series, but there is room for improvement.

Whiskey on the Rocks is the debut book by Jessa Aarons and the first book in the Rebel Vipers MC series. There is a prequel novella about Whiskey's dad, Mountain that I also read. I would have loved a longer book with him and his old lady Blue. They were awesome characters. Whiskey is now the Pres of the MC after his father's accident that cost him his leg. Kiana shows up at his door looking for her sister who happens to be a club girl. Sparks fly and Whiskey is hooked on the petite baker. Now he is on mission to find the sister and get the girl. This was a cute read, Whiskey really surprised me. He was sweet but tough when it was important. Kiana definitely fell into a relationship with Whiskey rather quickly but its a family tradition (see Mountain's novella). What struck me was she wasn't super worried about her bakery while she was on lockdown at the clubhouse. It practically fell off her radar. Another thing that stood out a little bit was it didn't seem like there was much activity on figuring out what was going on with Kiana's sister. It could have been because Whiskey is the Pres so that would affect what we know about the nuts and bolts of the investigation. Other than that, it was a solid debut story and I will definitely check out more books by Jessa Aarons.

Whiskey on the Rocks started out with such promise, but I felt like I was on a roller coaster by the end. When the main characters first meet, Kiana has her own bakery and Whiskey has just become President when she confronts him about her missing sister. Towards the middle of the book, the bakery is completely forgotten about and I was left dumbfounded as to the sister at the end. I needed more of an explanation to carry over into future books. Kiana and Whiskey get their HEA, but the rest I couldn't even call a cliffhanger.

Throughout the book, the author did a good job building up suspense only to leave the reader disappointed when it came to any action. It was like riding the coaster car up the hill, but not getting to the enjoy the ride down. Whiskey would be decisive when needed, but when Kiana is in danger he was relegated to the sidelines because it was considered not his job and he was throwing a tantrum. The Sgt at Arms was the same when it came to the sister. The author had the basics down about MC life, but did not execute it very well. Good plot and characters, but needs work with execution.

Oh my, where do I start? I loved this book. Whiskey and Duchess are a perfect match. Like father, like son. Whiskey and Kiana(Duchess) meet when she is looking for her sister. From their first encounter sparks fly. They butt heads like no one’s business. The storyline that Jessa came up with for these two was fantastic. Whiskey is all alpha caveman and what he wants, he gets. Duchess is strong, feisty and spirited. The banter between these two just had me laughing. She is the perfect woman to stand with Whiskey. He just has to make her see it. Will he be able to get her to believe they belong together and will they find her sister? This is filled with suspense, action, surprises and some twists and turns. I was hooked in from the beginning until the end. This story just flowed smoothly and never slowed down or dragged along. The chemistry between Whiskey and Duchess is off the charts hot. I love this MC and can’t wait for the next.

Well this is a great book to read. S0 let's meet Whisky, he is the Prez to the Rebel Vipers MC. So lets start off with him jinxing the club. Its like saying it is slow and then bam you are busy til the end. So what he did was along the lines of saying that it has been too quiet. Well that is until Kiana pulls up to the clubhouse. She is there to talk to her sister however something is wrong. Kiana does not care that Whiskey is the Pres. She is feisty and a bit judge mental. So where is her sister? That is the good question. While the club is trying to figure out what happen, other things take place that also Kiana may be in danger. Well now things are getting interesting because Whiskey wants to get to know her even though she gets on his nerves. Kiana learns a lot being around the bikers and may have judged to quickly. Things start to heat up and the danger ramps up. Will they be able to find her sister? Will there be a happily ever after. All I know is that I found a new author to stalk! What a great start to a series.

First time I have come across this author but really like her style. whisky on the Rocks is a fast paced tale of Whiskey and Kiana. Kiana is a person that likes to be self sufficient and get things done on her own. Whiskey is a hard MC President who expects that if he asked for something to be done then it will be. The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!

Can’t say I didn’t warn you.

Kiana is so sassy, feisty, strong, doesn’t let anyone step all over her, she will stand up for herself and a good businesswoman who loves her sisters and her goal is to make sure she is okay. Whiskey is the President of the Rebel Vipers and his father was Mountain is the former president. The attraction is instant between Kiana and Whiskey and between the twist and turns will they find happiness?

A new to me author and this is her first book, as far as I can tell, except for the prequel which I quickly downloaded. Wow, I loved this story. I thought the characters were well fleshed out and the dialog was great. Whiskey and Kiana compliment each other perfectly. No backing down for either one of them. Whiskey is totally alpha and so smooth just like his name and Kiana is such a strong character. She is always questioning the way they live because she just does not understand. There are some great scenes in this story. There is a little mystery about her sister and I still have not figured out what happened but that is for another book (but not the next one). I really love the whole brotherhood. Looking forward to more books from Jessa.

This is the 1st in a new series and is Whiskey and Kiana’s story. Kiana is feisty and owns her own bakery, and she is worried that her sister is missing so she goes to the last place she was at, and that is the Rebel Vipers MC clubhouse. Whiskey is the President and when this feisty little fireball comes into his clubhouse, the sparks fly as they butt heads, and Kiana is on a mission to find her sister. There is more going on in the town than the MC fist thought, and Whiskey tells Kiana she needs to stay with him so he can protect her until they danger has cleared. The chemistry between these two is combustible and undeniable. This is a well written fast paced read, which is filled with drama, suspense, danger, violence, action, passion, witty banter, and is an all-co-consuming and steamy page turner. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I highly recommend.

Couldn't finish it. Made to about 28% when I gave up. It really grinds my gears when the female main character is suppose to be strong and feisty and hardcore but she ends up being whiny and annoying. If you as the writer want to make the girl be hardcore don't have her be so whiny. She legit stomps her foot like a child throwing a tantrum in the scene where she meets whiskey. She is pissed off one second and in the same breath want to get on her knees in front of the guy. As far as i could tell whiskey was alpha jerk like how the mc guys usually are written. I didn't get far enough in the story to find out how he develops, but I was not a fan of him literally meeting her and instantly wanting her to be his old lady. For me insta love works in some romances but it definitely does not belong in an mc romance.

This is the 1st book in the Rebel Vipers MC series and is Whiskey and Kiana’s story. She is feisty and owns her own bakery, and her sister is missing so she goes on a mission to try to find her. She ends up at the Rebel Vipers MC clubhouse, this is where she meets Whiskey. He is the President and when they meet prepare yourself for the fireworks that follow! She needs to find her sister but there is more going on in town than what the MC thought, now Whisky is protective mode and tells Kiana she needs to stay with him so he can protect her from danger. The chemistry between these two is combustible and undeniable. This is a well written fast paced read, which is filled with drama, and suspense, everything that makes for a terrific read and page turner.
