A letter perfect reprint of the very rare 1931 edition of Enright's "Al Capone - On The Spot" containing about 115 period photos and three maps. The story of America's most violent era and the violent people who were key players in it.
Thank God for this reprint of an old pulp (non)fiction publication. The original's impossible to find, and even if I did have one, I'm sure its paper manufacture would be so brittle that I wouldn't want to turn the pages for fear of cracking the spine. Too bad the original full-color cover illustration was not reproduced for the reprint. The book is fascinating, and chock full of black-and-white photos, and a few illustrations. You'll see corpses littered about on the streets, in ditches, and on slabs in the morgue. Incredibly morbid and brutal. I enjoyed the challenge of trying to keep all the gangsters' names straight!
