Does God punish sinners? A closer look at the intense love and justice of God Almighty. According to the Bible, it s a matter of life and death. Jesus declared, "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (John 17:3). Here Jesus states that truly knowing the Father and His Son means eternal life. Conversely, we can conclude that not knowing them is the route to damnation. "I never knew you." Jesus will someday sadly announce to a group of misguided people (Matthew 7:23). These Scriptures should impress us with the necessity of knowing God as He is, not as we think He is. Life is not a game, Our souls are at stake. We should never forget that in the last days our enemy, called the Devil and Satan, is doing everything he's learned through thousands of years of experience in an effort to "deceive, if possible, even the elect" (Matthew 24:24).
An excellent book that deals with the question so often posed by people, "Does God destroy?" What I personally love about this book is that it takes a balanced approach to this question and deals with almost all the arguments with meekness and grace. Another wonderful thing that I love about this book is that it not only deals with these objections, but it also gives a balanced understanding of God's character. God's mercy and justice has been presented in a balanced manner.
The authors tackle the issue of an apparent contradiction: a loving God that must punish sin. They supply lots of Bible verses as evidence that this isn't contradictory but consistent and that there is hope for any one that wants to be forgiven. I enjoyed the book.
