The Wyoming Kid
Rancher Lonny Ellison has never known a woman like Joy Fuller. For one thing, she doesn't seem very interested in him, and as a former rodeo cowboy, Lonny's not used to that. I loved this book! Sorry, this is such a late review... anyways, recommended to EVERYONE! (see content rating for more details).
CONTENT: This one has mentions of mature topics. Some swearing. If you are worried about this one at all, read it before handing it to someone young.

OK,this was one of those books where the couple was so-o-o annoying and immature that you didn't really care if it ended happily ever after. This couple's conflict had the maturity level of 3rd graders and was boring and repetitive. And Lonny's epiphany halfway through the book that he was in love with Joy simply strained credibility!! Ms. Macomber has written MUCH better books.....

Ugh this book was too cute! I loved learning about Lonny and Joy in the first book Denim and Diamonds and then reading about their relationship in this book. The back and forth banter was impeccable and reminded me of the movie Sweet Home Alabama which is a personal fave! Debbie Macomber might have just convinced me to move to a small town in Wyoming in hopes to finding a cowboy like Lonny.

Now they have a passive-aggressive relationship that is due to their unfinished business, that is, the spark is still alive. And this is the starting point for lots of unbelievable silly misunderstandings.
Main characters bring stupid to a new level. He is delusional, he is the on who decides that he must love her because he hates her. And she gets angry because, one day after kissing together, he attends to church where she plays the organ because what he wants is to unnerve her (at this paranoid point I just dropped the book).

Lonny Ellison, retired rodeo rider and current rancher, has an auto "Incident" with teacher Joy Fuller. She dated him two years ago, but his ego was too big... Now he thinks he loves her, but her former friend Josh is coming to town to possibly reignite an old flame.
The characters to me where not likable they annoyed me. She is kissing Lonny but soon as the ex comes in town she wants to run off with him. This just does not make sense to me.

I thought this story was sweet, but it was a hate to love story and I felt like the switch was too fast. Our 2 main characters, Lonny and Joy, have a history together. They dated when she was new in town, but they broke up and really don't get along. They are very combative and actively dislike each other, but Joy is Lonny's sister's (Letty's) best friend so they are around each other alot. Also, Joy is the teacher to Cricket (Letty's daughter). The beginning starts with an even that happened at the end one (a minor fender bender that was Joy's fault) and Lonny is a huge ass about it and really tough on her, but then all of a sudden he softens and the next thing you know he's in love. There's a love triangle because Josh, Joy's boyfriend from Seattle, is back and she considers moving back with him. Does she go or does she stay? Read the story to find out :)

Cute, light, old-fashioned romance in a small town. Joy and Lonny are at odds with one another. Joy has broken off a relationship with him. They are thrown together, and through the myriad conflicts, tiffs, and romantic moments, Joy and Lonny need to figure out their feelings while Joy is being wooed by another man from her past.
Heartfelt, small town romance at it's best. HEA and lovely fall, lots of chemistry mixed in with the misunderstanding, hurts, and tangles.

This book really annoyed me. I loved Lonnie and I enjoyed his growth through the story, but I hated Joy. I really felt like she was doing everything just to hurt Lonnie not doing it for herself. I also feel like whatever happened in their previous relationship needed to be explained better and they needed to talk about it. I didn't really feel like anything was settled between the two of them and the resolution at the end was too convenient.

As a sequel to “Denim and Diamonds,” there were a few details that did not quite meet up that frustrated me and distracted me from the story.
As a whole, I enjoyed the story. Lonny and Joy let their pride interfere in a newly budding relationship and it has been two years of formal niceties, but that’s a difficult thing to do in a small Wyoming town. Finding their way back to each other, with a few collisions and incidents in between, this is a fun little story.

Another amazing book by Debbie! I was surprised when I found this book that I hadn’t read it yet. I have been a reader of hers for many many years and read just about all her books. Once I saw this one and read the back I knew I hadn’t read it and knew I needed it.
I adored Joy and Lonny. They knew they loved each other but had to work through obstacles to realize they did. I love the town on Red Springs. The friendships these small towns have hold a special place in my heart.

I'm new to the Romance genre, but this book was a disappointment. The other romance novels I have read gave rich, deep insights into the angst of falling in love. I found complex emotions and adults "working it through", so to speak, and that is very satisfying. This book had none of that. The most complex emotion I found in this book was, 'Why did I enjoy that kiss?' And then, it didn't give much of an explanation. I can't recommend this book.

Feel good story
Sometimes you just need a good feel good romance to read. This one fits the bill. Predictable plot - boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back. But the relatable and likable characters with the happy ending provide the perfect escape from the stress of life. I'm thankful for authors who can create an enjoyable story like this.

A follow up to Denims and Diamonds and centers around Lonny and Joy's relationship.
Lonny and Joy got off on the wrong foot, with Joy thinking Lonny is arrogant and rude. However, this is not the car and Lonny has to put things right and make Joy realise that he loves her and she loves him!!!
A lovely feel good story, Debbie Macomber is one of my favourite authors and I love everything I read of hers.

An easy to read book, Macomber’ books are always down to earth and entertaining,
Characters in this book are all decent and kind, feels good after all.

Oh Debbie M. What happened? What could have such a cute story was bogged done by a horrible man. Rude asshole in plain terms. The lady in the book is ok but more neurotic then normal in your books. Totally missed some wonderful opportunities with the kids in the book. Oh well, I love your books just chalk this one up to learning process?

I have yet to read a book by Debbie that was less than a five (5) some were tens.
All I can say is read it yourself you will love it. Debbie is just that good.

I loved this sweet cowboy romance. Easy and light reading. A great dessert of a read. I enjoy Debbie Macomber for the most part. This one was very good and everything I look for when reading a romance.

I struggled to like the two main characters. Their bickering just did not do it for me. Also having dated 2 years earlier and then breaking it off did not seem realistic. Glad I finished it, but not that impressed.

I seem to love everything that Ms. Macomber writes. I read this when it first came out and I enjoyed reading it just as much again. The Cedar Cove series is still a favorite that I have gone back to revisit a time or two.

I really liked the characters involved. There was enough conflict to make you want to keep reading to find what happened. I have really loved of this author's books. She is probably my favorite author.

I love Debbie Macomber and quite enjoy her Christmas novels. But this was painful. The main couple was ridiculous. The flirting/arguing and 3rd grade romance was annoying and so unrealistic. Not a book I would recommend.

This books is practically *chef's kiss*! This is the first ever one I've read with a Western setting. The romantic tension between Joy and Lonny just keeps you on the edge of your seat as you wish that they finally got together.

May 23, 2022Found this in a pile of books I'd bought, last summer apparently; I'd forgotten about it. Start was maybe a little uneven but in general this delivers a pleasant story, as do all Macomber's books that I've read.
