Five years ago, Sam and I fell in love just as hard as we fell apart.

The last thing I expect is for him to walk into my office as the new legal counsel.

Now, I have to see him every single day. We vow to remain professional, but it's a small office. The sly glances and his blistering charm are unavoidable.

It all feels so familiar. Too comfortable. After what happened the la

Secrets kept them apart before. Lying might force them together.

The Lying Season is another angsty second chance romance from the queen of angst, K.A. Linde.

Lark St. Vincent is a successful campaign manager from the upper east side. She’s working hard to re-elect the mayor, when she gets a blast from her past. In the form of Sam Rutherford, her ex-boyfriend who is now working with her. Years ago, Sam and Lark fell in love on a different campaign but things didn’t end well. Its

Poignant, angsty second chances office romance.
This heartfelt romance had a lot of heart.
Sam and Lark’s story started out one way, but as the story evolved, other issues came into play, which made their story more compelling.
They have a long and complicated history that ended badly. Fast forward 6 years and when they see each other again, the chemistry is there, but so are other complications.
Can they have a second chance?
Well paced, with well developed characters, I really enjoyed Sam and Lark

I really hate it when the first book of a series, that is even labeled as a standalone, requires reading a previous book(s?) from the author to enjoy/understand it fully. More than half the book the hero/heroine repeatedly make vague references to a bad breakup they had five years earlier. Rather than this backstory being finally revealed via an emotional confrontation, we instead only get two pages total where they finally quickly mention why exactly they broke up previously and then i

K.A. Linde once again proves that she excels at writing political plots. The hero fell flat and one dimensional for me. However, I’m looking forward to reading the next hero in the series!

This was an amazing read, I devour it in one sitting! This is a second chance romance.Lark comes from a wealthy family however, she always wanted to make her own life and do whatever she wants. I absolutely love Lark, she is a strong and sassy heroine.I admired her and I loved her!

Lark and Sam have a fantastic chemistry! Sam is the complete opposite from Lark and her world. But somehow they were perfect for each other.I fall in love with them and their romance!

4.5 stars for The Lying Season!

Wow! This is my first KA Linde book, and I am hooked! I love an office romance coupled with secrets and lies, and also a second chance romance! It literally has all the tropes! I loved everything about this, even the diversity that was woven in with such class, and so naturally. Bravo, Kyla Linde!! You literally covered all the bases with me! You have a forever fan!!

I went into The Lying Season by K.A. Linde, expecting an entertaining and engaging read and I was not disappointed.

The Lying Season is a second chance romance centered around the mayoral campaign trail. It tells the story of Lark St. Vincent and Sam Rutherford. Prior to the events in The Lying Season, Lark and Sam dated for a year. During this time Sam was not aware that Lark was from the Upper East Side, which made her out his league socially and financially. They hit a rough patch and their re

I had a hard time keeping track with all of the different characters in this for some reason, idk why. I was hoping for another Brady Maxwell but Sam was no Maxwell, he was a bit beige and I just wasn’t feeling him I’m afraid. And the repetition of the phrase Upper east side really bugger me. Ah well.

Complete story but part of a series of recurring characters.

'The lying Season' is the first book of the 'Seasons' Series , written by K.A. Linde. Told in dual perspectives , this book was one of the best office/second chance Romance I have ever read!!

This was the first book that I have read by this author and I absolutely adore her style of writing! Sam and Lark's story is going to stay with me for a long long time. I have always been a druggie for second chance Romances and this one seemed to hit ri
Sam pissed me off for half of this book.

OMFG make it stop! More author tricks I can't stand. How much do I hate this practice??? TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This series just came out in April 2020, and already the titles have been changed with no way to reference them (GR hasn't caught up yet with the title changes) ... NO, THE NEW TITLES are now under the Upper East Side series: CRUEL PROMISE, CRUEL TRUTH, CRUEL DESIRE, and CRUEL MARRIAGE, as the new non-cross-referenced titles on Amazon. If you review

The Lying Season is a standalone second chance love book that takes you on a ride of the rich and famous.

Larkin has lived a privileged life but what her parents want from her and what she wants out of life are completely different. Doing her dream job, she face to face with her past, the one past that destroyed her and broke her heart. Sam moved to be with his girlfriend and what he didn’t expect was to see his ex-girlfriend, when feelings start to surface how will they move forward with all th

I have been dying to read the Lying Season since we met Lark in the Cruel Trilogy. I was so excited to see that K.A. Linde was going to be writing a companion novel off of the Upper East Side Crew. This book did not disappoint at all!!!

This is a second chance romance centered around the campaign trail. This is a complete standalone novel and is told in Dual POV. You don’t have to read the Cruel Trilogy first if you don’t want to, but

‪This is one of those books where I could appreciate the quality of the writing but didn’t actually enjoy the story. Though it’s described as a standalone and is the start of a new series, there were so many characters from previous books and so much (unknown) history between the leads that it felt like I was starting at the middle of the story. So while there were times when I was completely intrigued by and engrossed in the story, there were things that held me back from fully connecting.‬

Im torn on this one guys....I really liked the storyline but......my first issue is I feel like there is way too much missing....I thought this was a standalone but there was so many references to the past, it was hard to follow at times. There were also too many characters if that is possible. I was actually putting down my kindle and taking a break because I was exerting too much energy figuring out who was who multiple times.

Lark works for the Mayor and is heavily involved in the pol

I haven’t read many books by K.A. Linde but boy do I need to rectify that! I really loved this book. These characters where completely addicting. I feel like I’ve found my new favorite crew!

The Lying season is the perfect second chance romance. Lark and Sam have instant chemistry once they see each other again. It’s as if no time has passed at all.

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

I really really really enjoyed The Lying Season! I wasn't prepared to like this story as much as I did. From all of the other characters from the Crew, Larkin was my favorite one and I loved her own book. She was relatable and real and I connect with her from the beginning.

This is a second chance romance and when we're introduced to the hero we don't know what happened in Lark and Sam's past. It takes some time for us to know and I like
DNF at 50% because I was so bored!

There was too much going on with the side characters that I couldn’t even remember who was who and I couldn’t figure out where the story was going.

Lark was downright annoying, I just couldn’t connect with her, because she had no redeeming qualities she complained on every chapter.

Sams chapters were few and in between that I never got to know him.

The book is split in different parts and there was no need for that unless you were going to take us back to the ye

The Lying Season is a stand-alone romance that features Lark from Linde's Cruel Legacy series. You really don't need to read that series to know and understand who Lark is, but it would definitely help to understand all the dynamics that are skimmed over in this book.

Lark St. Vincent has always wanted to pave her own way and not follow the expectations that her parents had. She found her love for politics when she worked for a campaign at a young age and knew that was what her passion

I love it when KA Linde writes political. All of her books centered around election campaigns and political fights never fail to draw me in and keep me captivated, and The Lying Season was no different. This was a fantastic second chance love story with fantastic secondary characters that all add, add, add. I can't wait to read more from these characters.

KA Linde is an author that never lets me down.
Sam and Lark were outer perfection.

The drama. Friends. New York City. The past. The present. The pull. I devoured this story. This circle of friends has me so pulled into this series I’m not sure how I’ll be able to think about anything else. This was a great start to what I know will be an all out obsession.

I really, really had to keep an open mind about this book!!! I had NO CLUE the main character was part of the Cruel series. She was part of “The Crew”. A bunch of rich upper East siders; Penn, Rowe, Lewis And Katherine. I had no clue this was going to be Larks book. I was reading the very 1st page and then it all clicked for me once it said upper east side!
(I was getting flash backs! lol the last book was hard for me.)
