an okay book that goes through hr fundementals but doesn't really go through descriptions of some of the workouts / intervals in the book. It also doesn't cover the use of cross training as a means of improving performance or reducing likelihood of injury.

This was a good introduction to using a heart monitor while biking and exercising. A bit dated, I would like to see the latest research and thoughts on this. Wasn't a whole lot of information available that I could readily find.

not as useful as i hoped. the recommended workouts are irrelevant they rely too heavily on terrain which may not exist near where you live/ride.

I did like the Friel book better as I felt it was more easily digested. This book has a lot more workout suggestions which was very nice.
