Reading, praying, and focusing in general is just plain hard when you hurt. Whether it’s your head, your back, your joints, or something else, when we feel miserable, it’s easy to let that awful feeling consume us. That’s why Heather Hart has put together an easy-to-follow guide for praying and meditating on God’s Word for when you’re in pain.
Heather Hart is an internationally best-selling and award-winning author who has written and contributed to over a dozen books. She has had featured articles in the Christian Women’s Voice magazine, U Matter Magazine, online newsletters, and been a guest on countless blogs and websites. Heather has also spoken to small groups in person and to thousands through podcasts, radio shows, webinars, and other online events. She has been working in ministry in one form or another for over a decade.
God has given Heather a heart for ministering to women of all ages and helping them grow in their walk with Him. Her goal isn’t to teach women how they can do better, be better, or achieve perfection, it’s to point them to Jesus. While she is an introvert by nature, she can’t contain the message God has laid on her heart.
Chronic pain can be difficult. This spoke to my heart because it encourages us to remain close to God no matter our struggles. It’s written well and has encouraging exercises. It also lead me to other authors and websites. This little book broadened my horizons and I’m grateful for it.
Heather Hart understands your being in pain, even if no family member or friend does. When constant pain is a fact of your life, Clinging to Jesus offers spiritual pain control that can ease your suffering. The author's practical suggestions can help meet your need for respite from a wearing down of your spirit.
I was provided a free review copy of this book by the author.
I don't deal with chronic pain, but this is a great resource to share with those who do. But it is also something that I can use to deepen my relationship with Jesus. This world is tough, let's learn to Cling to Jesus.
This is an excellent book written with very practical insights on how to deal with pain. This doesn’t gloss over the agony but gives hope in the midst of it. I highly recommend it!
