Joe Bruno’s "Famous Murders, Riots, Disasters, and Crooked Politicians - New York City - 1834 - 1938" is another killer book by this author that has a knack for telling the real deal in a way that is not just fascinating but totally absorbing and at times laugh out loud funny.

His writing style is clear, clever and to the point. He holds nothing back as far as I can tell. This is an exciting story that feels true to life. This is well researched and well detailed without ever having a dull moment.

Joe Bruno takes you back and sheds light on NYC and the crimes that were committed. We learn about the crooks and what made them the thieves that they were. Very compelling read! Loved the bonus book too!!!

There was some interesting stuff in here. Some interesting historical facts. A bunch of short historical accounts of crime.

Very interesting. There were quite a few historical incidents I've heard of and I really like this author's writing style. I especially enjoyed learning about all of the crooked Tammany Hall politicians and how they got their start as criminals in the various NYC gangs. Just goes to show not much has changed has it?

I’ve become quite a fan of Joe Bruno in the last year. I thought the mob series was excellent, but this latest book is turning out to be my favorite. It’s fun to read, informative, and often jaw dropping.
