I liked the story, it was cute and fluffy.
The ballet bunnies are so fun and helpful, i would love to have some bunnies like that!
I would have liked to see a bit more of the classmates tho, they are normally always involved but this time not.
It was also a bit weird and unrealistic that Millie doesn’t recognize her aunt when she’s in other clothes?
Other than that i enjoyed this cute read!
Also, the cover was very cute and the colorcombo is always amazing! The colors of the cover are also the color theme in the book, so fun!

I read this with my 9 year old. She definitely chose this book because of the beautiful cover showing a ballerina and bunnies - two of her favorite things. Bonus points go to the illustrations because the ballerina is brown skinned with slanted eyes, which she can see as a reflection of herself. Love that!

Overall, this story is a cute modern-day spin on Cinderella.

There are some things I really don’t like about this book though. I also know this is part of a series, but this is the only book of the series I have read.

I really don’t like that the whole premise of the book is a child keeping 4 pet bunnies and not telling her family about it.

Also, even though this is a fairytale, the aspects that are part of the “real world” are so unrealistic. The mass of people in the theater just can’t see the bunnies running around? The aunt or other chaperones don’t notice that one of the kids goes missing? The glass slipper somehow slides under the closed door halfway down the hall? Millie doesn’t recognize her aunt just because she’s in different clothes?

Overall, cute but I can’t get over the unrealistic aspects and that it’s encouraging keeping secrets from your parents.
