I loved this book! Ada is such a strong female character and Matt is smart enough to realize it and not try to stifle or smother her spirit.

Ada is having a hard time. Her husband has been murdered, her house was burned down, she owes a huge balloon payment to the bank, her in-laws are waiting for her to fail so they can they take her land, someone has sprayed nasty graffiti on her shed, and now a man has just parachuted into her crop of delphiniums. She needs those flowers to make her bridal con

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Adelaide "Ada" Buckingham and Matt "Frog" Townsend. Adelaide must show a profit on the land she and her husband inherited from his aunt. They were given a time frame of 8 years to show a profit or the land would revert back to her husbands parents. Every since her husband was murdered she has been having problems showing that profit so the land will become hers instead of her in-law

Instead, Matt Townsend, brought in to train soldiers in rugged terrain survival, parachutes right into her flowers, crushing them in the process! Once the dust settles, they are aware of their attraction to each other.

So when Ada’s strange incidents e

Ada has been through it in this book. Kind of like a child in a Disney story, you wonder what else can someone dump on this poor woman. She’s pretty much at that point too, when Matt parachutes into her flower field after the military signed a contract that included their war games would steer clear of her flowers. After a pretty tense conversation, the two come to an agreement on “payment” for the flowers, and both Matt and Ada find they have a serious attraction to deal with. The longer they k ...more

This was simply wow! I couldn't wait to see what happened next for Ada and Matt. I loved this series! After reading this story, I want to reread them all again! I love the world that Ms. Munro created. I was excited to see Matt aka Frog get his match. I loved how strong Ada is. Ada is a widow and must turn a profit in her business or else she loses the land to her deceased husband's family. She is offered a chance to rent out some of her land for training purposes. She meets one of the trainers ...more

Matt becomes very protective and he and Ada start to figure it all out, with help from his friends and family. Someone is trying to get her to sell or leave, stealing machinery and livestock from other farms in the area, and so much more. The characters are terrific and the location of New Zealand is a great setting. Loved the poor cat ...more

Operation Flower Petal is a bit different from the books I would normally read. The story takes place in New Zealand with Ada trying to save her home after the murder of the husband. She is being harassed daily by unknown persons, her in laws are trying to take her home under the terms of a trust and she finds her husband took out a mortgage she can't pay back. To make money, she raises flowers to make bridal confetti and is renting part of the property to the NZ military. Ada is a very strong w ...more

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Operation Flower Petal by Shelley Munro is the sixth book in her Military Men series. I read this book as a drop-in (I did not read the five books before it) and it easily reads as stand alone. I enjoyed the read, but felt really bad for Ada (who should have been named Murphy, because anything that could go wrong). Enter Matt... or not! Poor Ada is making her living from her beautiful flowers, right up until Matt parachutes in. There is definitely chemistry from the ...more

Ada has had trouble since her husband was murdered. She’s had one mishap after another. Matt is training men to survive in rough terrain and the land they are to parachutes in has two rules and the first don’t touch her flowers! And to notify her about flash band before it happens. Matt parachutes right into her flowers and she lets him have it as she sells them to make money to pay the ranch payments. Matt thought she was an old lady but finds her beautiful and instantly attracted to her. But h ...more

Matt and Ada were like two halves making a whole! Too bad that Matt is the only one to realize that right away. Ada is much slower to warm to the idea much less accept it as inevitable. Poor Ada has had so much to deal with after the death of her husband and Matt appears at the most opportune time. Even if he did manage to destroy the source of income that would go towards saving her home. I really enjoyed this book and I thought that the mystery embedded in the romance (or is it the romance emb ...more

This book has held my interest throughout and improved my day so much! I thought the pace and flow of the story was great as was the balance between suspense, romance, humour and seriousness. I loved Matt and Ada, they were so good together and so interesting as characters, they were surrounded by great friends/family and were full of strength, honesty and bravery. I wanted to keep on reading about them as I loved them so much, so I clicked on the link at the end and got a bonus short story whic ...more

Frog, Flowers and Funny Business

Matt aka Frog is tasked with training new men. His only rule: stay away from the flowers. This rule is broken on the first day when he parachutes into the flowers. Ada has had enough problems lately and doesn't hold back when confronting the man in her flowers. The attraction between the two is undeniable. Before there can be a HEA, Matt must figure out why so many bad things are happening to Ada.

Ada owns (almost) a farm where she has started a business growing flowers. Only problem is that someone is causing her trouble. Graffiti etc. She has no idea at all who is doing it or why. Her husband was murdered on the property and they have never found the culprit. To try and raise some money, Ada rents some of her outlying land to the army for exercises. This is how she meets the gorgeous Matt. Beautiful flower petals. Confetti. Trouble. A gorgeous army man. New friends. Secrets. A loan. Wha ...more

Ada gives everything she has to try to make her flower confetti business work. The farm she lives on was owned with her husband who was murdered three years ago. After his death Ada found out there were some strings attached to the property and money is a huge issue. The army sends some of their troops to Ada’s land to train and Matt is one of the trainers. He immediately takes to Ada and becomes even more protective when he realizes something fishy is going on with Ada’s farm. I received an adv ...more

This book was well written and I did not notice any major grammar or spelling issues. The world building was detailed and there were lots of twisting sub plots. The characters, both good and bad, were well defined and felt pretty realistic. Despite this, I did not particularly enjoy the book. I went into it expecting a romance and there was a lot more mystery and intrigue than I would have preferred. To me, it should be sold as a mystery that has some romance rather than the other way around.

I've read a lot of books written by Shelley Munro; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Ada is fighting to make a profit on the land her husband inherited from his aunt but since he was murdered everything is falling apart, she only has two years left or she will lose the land back to his parents. Matt and his team are training in the area and are told to stay away from her flowers but when he parachutes down he lands right in the middle of them.

Book six in the series brings Ada and Matt's story. The author adds a cast of secondary characters and weaves an intriguing story filled with drama ,suspense and a sizzling chemistry. She adds in a bit of humor and paints her scenes perfectly with her detailed and descriptive writing. I loved and would recommend this book.

The Military Man and the Flower Girl

This story contains one of the most ringing endorsement for sleeping with someone I’ve ever read: “I’m not sure this is a great idea, but I’m doing this anyway.” Ha! I enjoyed how Matt and Ada’s relationship grew slowly, even though Matt knew she was the one right away. And the who-dunit aspect of the story - well, the answers blew me away! Such a well written and enjoyable read.

Ada can't seem to catch a break. The death of her husband, the outrageous amount for a bank loan, graffiti on her barn, and then, to top it all off, a soldier lands in her flowers. But will this charming, outgoing and personable man convince her to give him a chance to make amends? Will she stay strong when malicious pranks continue to cause mayhem? Will there be an end to the nasty rumours that are whispered in the small community she lives in?

Ms. Munro’s stories are always engrossing and this one was no different. Ada and Matt were a strong couple but it was the strong sense of community within Matt’s family and friends as well as the mystery surrounding Ada’s farm that really drew me in. Archie the cat just added to the fun. I really enjoyed this story.

Get caught up with the intense feelings in this book. I welcomed the trials, the second chances the emotional drama and the unexpected intrest.
