Savage was in an auto accident 3 years ago and one of his younger sisters was killed and Savage was left a wheel chair occupant. He owns and runs several restaurants and a Gentleman's Club who has recently employed Danika's younger sister. She storms his office and sparks fly. Thus begins a complex relationship. An ok story, dragged out a little more than necessary.
I can’t believe I’ve been sitting on the Hawke Family series by Gwyn McNamee, but I’m glad I’m making time to read it now. Savage Collision is the first book, and it’s a great introduction to the series. This book is full of emotional moments and sexual tension between the MCs while also delivering a dramatic and anxiety-filled storyline, especially with the FMC being an investigative reporter and putting herself and others at risk to get the story she wants.
I loved Savage Hawke but had mixed feelings for Danika Eriksson. Don’t get me wrong, I had issues with Savage, too, but not as much as Dani. I found Dani’s character annoying and hurtful at times, especially with how she reacted to Savage when he revealed himself to her, and then she couldn’t accept something was going on with him when they were together. It was obvious he was dealing with things. It broke my heart to find out what happened to Savage and then later have him live through it again when he decides he needed the extra help after Gabe, his friend, called Savage out on possibly needing help to deal with what happened to him years ago.
Although this story only received 3.5 stars from me, mainly because of Dani’s character because she didn’t redeem herself until toward the end, I enjoyed the storyline of this one, and I’m looking forward to reading the other Hawke family members’ stories. _______________________________________
Tortured Skye is the second book in Gwyn McNamee’s The Hawke Family series. This story is full of angst between the two main characters while they try to fight their feelings for one another. One is determined to give in to those feelings, while the other continues to fight them. It was definitely a page-turner, but it also made me want to go through my Kindle and curse at one of the characters to stop being so stubborn.
I’m going to admit when I was introduced to Skye Hawke in Savage Collision, I didn’t like her at first, especially with how she was with Danika. After reading Tortured Skye, I understood her character better and felt sympathetic to her. She deserved to find happiness and feel loved for once, especially after she lost her twin sister in the same accident that put her brother, Savage, in a wheelchair. She’s always had feelings for Gabe, but never pursued him due to her big brother, but now she’s determined to be with Gabe, even if he continues to push her away.
I loved the push and pull between Gabe and Skye, but I found Gabe difficult at times. His constant pushing was going to hurt Skye, and she didn’t deserve it, especially since she was willing to be there one hundred percent with him. She didn’t care what her brother thought of her being with Gabe, but Gabe couldn’t risk losing his friend. Don’t even get me started with what Savage did when he found out. I liked Savage in his book, but in this book, he did a 360, and I was not too fond of his character. I understood why he didn’t want Gabe with her because Gabe was a player, but they were adults and could make their own decisions.
How about the spice level? This one was off the charts like the first book, but this one may have been hotter, especially since a certain MMC has something special about him. =)
Gwyn McNamee is one author I’m glad I found her books this year because I’m enjoying her books and her writing style. She makes me feel for the characters and root for their HEAs. She does make me want to talk some sense into them, but I have to remember these are fictional characters and not real ones. I definitely can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series after reading Savage and Skye’s books.
Standalone of Part of Series: This series needs to be read in order, since the books are interconnected. I recommend reading Savage Collision, the first book in the Hawke Family series.
Danika storms into Savage’s office to give him a piece of her mind, and is caught off guard by this handsome, powerfully enigmatic man❣️ Likewise, Savage is also caught off guard by Danika and her fiery passion and beliefs.
Savage invites her to dinner, but it soon becomes clear he has some secrets that he needs to reveal before they get further involved. A great story with depth and well developed characters that kept me turning the pages. I will admit I was a little shocked initially by Savage’s secret and how he reveals this to Danika but I ultimately enjoyed their story and romance😍
I’m looking forward to getting to know the Hawkes and those involved with their family more🤩
Tortured Skye☁️
Tortured Skye is the second book in the Hawke Family series and features Gabe, Savage’s best friend and his little sister, Skye. After an accident kills, Skye’s twin sister, she spirals downwards. Now years later, she still lusts after Gabe even though he’s shown no interest in her…in that way😢
A chance encounter at Dani and Savage’s wedding soon makes it apparent that still waters run deep with Gabe, even though he walked away. Now Gabe is dealing with his demons and gets involved with Skye when he knows he shouldn’t. Will this be the end of his friendship with Savage? And will he get a chance to be with the woman that means everything to him?
A wonderful story with some very steamy scenes and suspenseful moments❣️ Can’t wait to read Stone’s story next😍
Savage Collision I love the fire in Dani as she storms into Savage’s office. An all or nothing feeling! Spitfire would be a mild description of her. Savage is a broken man, but man is he strong, determined and in charge. These two hit it out of the stratosphere without understanding what hit them. A rollercoaster ride to be sure. The ups and downs of their relationship drive their friends crazy. The emotions are so strong and so much more than they’ve experienced before.
The trouble Dani gets into even she doesn’t understand. Thankfully Savage is able to help. Great read. Fantastic story. Amazing characters.
Tortured Skye I love Gabe. He's so torn up about so many things. And to have feelings for his best friend's sister is just messing him up big time.
Skye is awesome. She's sort of a no-nonsense type of girl, but she's been through a very rough time. Having feelings for her brother's best friend is painful and she's just about had enough.
These two together....stormy only just begins to describe their relationship. Holy Hannah do they make fireworks. To be so torn over falling for someone and to try to rationalize why you should (or shouldn't) is simply crazy.
This cracker read by Gwyn McNamee will keep you on your toes. Definitely some surprises this time around. I loved it.
Bk 1 Savage Collision is a frenemies to lovers. He is a biggest brother leader of family who runs a very high class naked dancers club. She is the older sister of one of his new dancers. She arrives enraged that he is corrupting her sister who has dropped out of school. A family tragedy has impacted his ability to have sex. While they soon fall in love, he has performance issues from an accident 3 yrs ago in which his sister died and he ended up in a wheel chair. On her side, she is investigating a mob guy …not knowing his connection. Things blow up but they survive and finally are able to move forward together. Book 2 focuses on his awesome best friend and support who handled the blow up. Seems Gabe and Skye have been hot for each other quite awhile and the wedding book 1 raises it way up and they are both drowning their urges in alcohol. I am not a fan of the concept that loves cures drunkenness. However the real drama begins with the hurricane preps and the guy who won’t take no for an answer from Skye and Gabe hunting him/her down. But, of course, there is a HEA.
Welcome to the Hawke Family! You'll fall in love with them too!
Savage Collision: Danika and Savage's lives collide when Danika tries to rescue her sister. Meanwhile, Savage has suffered life-altering injury, but even injured, he's so damn hot! I loved Danika's courage and her feisty attitude, especially when she gives back as good as she gets. I also loved the POVs I got in this story - it really made a big difference in the way the story unfolded, and I was simply blown away. I so love the Hawke family, and I have no doubts you will too!
Tortured Skye: This is the second book in the Hawke Family series/saga, Gabe and Skye's story. That one kiss put everything into one big tailspin. Loved their story - the angst and pain, the attraction, every page had me captivated. Falling in love is random - we don't pick who we love. We just know when we find that someone. Gabe had to deal with the Hawke family and it was emotional and tough. Skye wanted something he wasn't ready for, and watching them work through their feelings have me all their emotions too.
Book 1 was okay. It was emotional. That surprise there the MMC had for us was crazy. It would've been nice to know before hand, but finding out when the FMC did really did a number on my emotions. lol. It helps put you in the story.. makes you feel like you are there too. The world building was really good and the story like was good too
Spice 1/5 Humor 0/5 Emotional 2/5 World Building 4/5 Overall 3.5/5
Book 2 Damn I love a good brother's best friend trop He was a dumbass. Thinking her brother would be happier if he stopped seeing her. like brooo ... that's going to make him mad that you just used her to get off. hahahaha Although Savage made me mad with how he was acting out and the things he said. The shit with Lucas was nuts!! and for her to not even be there!! OMG I can't believe they actually got away with it
Spice 2/5 Humor 0/5 Emotional 1/5 World Building 4/5 Overall 4/5
Oh so good!Very upbeat fast pace,Savage is very headstrong and very perclive on how he wants things even if he maybe wrong, but he truly cares ,it's just hard for him to show it.He shouldn't of hide his secert from Dani,it just cause hurt feelings and almost losing each other! He is just a big soft teddy bear!Gage knew he couldn't be with Skye,he was partners with her brother but it just had to happen,Skype took her sister's death very hard and she put up walls, but she has always wanted Gage and nothing was going stop her even if it causes a big hole between brother, friendship! It takes almost losing the life of Gage before he amitts his love for Skye and they walk around eggshells dealing with how Savage feels but slowly but little steps and fines love, happiness!
First book Savage Hawke the Eldest son and brother. His story is filled with heart break, loss and a HEA. As the story goes on you're introduced to the rest of his family and his best friend and business partner Gabe Anderson. Story consists of several business venture and his path to finding his love. •PTSD, corrupt politicians
Book two goes on with the Hawke family and the youngest of the sisters Skye. Her story is sad and full of torture from and accident that has changed all the Hawkes. Gabe Anderson is also in this book and his story of his years as a Ranger and his path with PTSD. Both of these characters suffer and deal with it the same way sex, alcohol and prescription medication.
Get your tissues ready for a wild ride of the Hawke Family
This collection contains two books in the Hawke Family Series and I had contrasting feelings. But let me explain why: In Savage Collision (4⭐️) I was ready to meet an Alpha asshole and a spitfire heroine. The problem slowly that fade away and both Savage and Dani seemed to soften. Don't get me wrong it's a great story but I didn't enjoy in fully their dynamic. On the other hand, in Tortured Skye (5⭐️) we find again Gabe (Savage's best friend) and Skye (his sister). Both of them have demons who are consuming them and a kiss turns upside-down their world. The problem is he feels she deserves better but at the same time, he wants her. This book was emotional and I loved it. Overall this collection is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 for me. Can't wait to read the Second Collection.
Book one is okay. Danika is hard to like with her thoughts and hang ups but Savage is very likeable. The suspense is done well. I don't like that a lot of time is skipped and we miss the development of their relationship. Book two is good. Gabe is a good, tortured hero.
These books are amazeballs. When I first read them I was up late and ended up with book hangovers each night because I didn’t want to put them down. Having extra scenes just makes them even more amazing than before. I couldn’t wait for each book to come out. This series is that good.
I’d read the first story in a collection and loved it! That one gets a 5. The second one dealt with PTSD. A warning would have been good. Might have not been the right time for me to read it, not sure 🤔
Me he terminado el primer libro y la verdad es que el libro se podía hacer en 200 páginas si los protagonistas hubieran tenido LA conversación. Aun así me ha gustado mucho porque ha habido momentos que me he quedado wtf.
I read the series about the children of the Hawke family before I read this book. I see why they are like they are in a good way! This story is not not just about biological family, but also about friends who are more like family. Gabe and Skye's story is hot, steamy and filled with passion!
I enjoyed reading both Savage and Dan's story as well!
This series addresses a lot of issues, among them, PTSD, physical disabilities, and family. The characters are well written, and so are the plots. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
