A Great Rock Romance
A band on the verge of making it to the big times and a quiet song writer who doesn’t have the self-confidence to sing her own songs is exactly what this book is about. Hudson is the lead singer of Headspace and has been recording their band’s first big album at the same studio that Charlie works at. They hit off with songs they have worked on together and even though there are other feelings coming from this they both know that as soon as the album is done Hudson will hit the road leaving Charlie behind.
Charlie asks one thing from Hudson and that is to help her come out of her shell. Hudson gladly takes on the task because he sees so much in Charlie. Their story only grows from there and it took me on a great ride with steam, feelings, heartbreak and overcoming their very heart wrenching childhoods.
I loved this book and can’t wait to see more from this author and only hope she has books ready for the rest of the guys from Headspace.

Catching feelings is inevitable
Charlie and Hudson are a dream couple. Both tormented by pasts hurts, both living with fears they don't know how to handle. What's supposed to be an easy arrangement quickly spirals.
Charlie is such a relatable character. She decides to fight the fears she has been living with so long. Hudson thinks he's in control as he always was. But not with Charlie, he is powerless to her.

I could relate to Charlie when it comes to the lack of confidence and sometimes wishing you could be someone else.
It wasn’t a slow burn but it also wasn’t too rushed which I appreciate. I just have a tiny problem with one part toward the end. I’m not going to spoil it but, it felt a bit out of place maybe? I didn’t really know how to feel about the situation. I don’t really know how to explain it. However, I haven’t read the first book so maybe that’s why I feel like I’m missed something. But overall very nice story.

I'm very impressed with Heather Lauren's writing talent, as Black Velvet and Lace was an amazing rock star romance. Charlie is a shy girl because of a past that was brutal, and her self confidence level is non existent even though she's so very talented but she sticks to writing music for other artists behind the scenes. Hudson also has a dark past that he's doing his best to run from so it tends to manifest itself into being a player, and his career as a musician is the perfect hunting ground since women throw themselves at him. Hell, even Charlie spent one night with him, and their heat was insane but now they're writing an album together for his band. She gets him to agree to helping her with her lack of self-confidence and the friendship begins. They get closer as friends before feelings start getting caught, so while they didn't quite start hooking up again quickly, the pace never slowed down in my eyes. The moment I started this story, I couldn't put it down for anything until every last page was devoured, and hope there are more books to come in this series! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

One of my new favorite music-related romances of all time!
Hudson is the lead singer of Headspace and Charlie is a quiet and shy song writer. They meet at a studio, where Charlie works and Headspace will record their first big album. There's obvious chemistry there but it's inevitable that eventually Hudson's going to leave with the band, on tour and all, and leave Charlie behind. What Charlie asks him for though is his help to get her out of her shell and he willingly complies.
I loved the characters of the story. They had both been through a lot of stuff in life, and I just really loved whom they were as people. I could relate to Charlie, with her not being confident and wishing she were someone else. Most of the female MCs in stories like these are whiny and annoying and I don't usually like them but thankfully that wasn't the case here and I truly liked Charlie.
I liked that the story wasn't slow-paced but it wasn't rushed either. It takes a really good writer to find that mix between them and I think Heather achieved that. Overall, I thought the couple was really cute together, I loved the storyline and the pace and especially the writing style. It's a definite recommend.

Finally.. Finally.. I got to read a rock star romance where the hero wasn't a manwhore and the storyline was different from the usual music train... This didn't have the drama of groupies and it was so refreshing to see a great story of a couple who shone throughout the book... I was pleasantly shocked to see how the book turned out.. Didn't expect it which made it even sweeter.. I loved how Charlotte became an entirely different person with Hudson and her journey to come out of her shell was beautifully scripted.. Hudson's techniques of getting his siren to stand out and be visible made for such beautiful romantic moments... They had steamy chemistry.. Which is always a plus.. Points to Charlotte for standing out with her song and expressing how she felt and kudos to Hudson to win her back and also not fucking other groupies during their breakup period... Also, major points for him to consider giving up his rock star dreams and trying to be a street musician just so he could be with her.. Go Hudson....!!!!! These were stand out points for me in the book... I loved it and I hugely recommend readers to give this a go... It will make you pleasantly happy... ❤🎸💃😍🎤🎶🎼🎵🔥💥👌👏💖💙💜💛💚🤗

What a book!! I was enthralled and hypnotized by this story. This is the first book that I have had the pleasure of reading by Ms Lauren, and it definitely won’t be my last.
Charlie and Hudson meet not in the most traditional way, but it was hot as hell. Not knowing who each other were was freeing until they meet again. This time it’s for business. Charlie is a songwriter and Hudson is the singer for the band Headspace that she will be writing songs for. Hudson writes songs himself, so they end up working together a lot. Can their working relationship stay platonic?
This book was a whirlwind of emotions. I loved Charlie and the shy badass she is and Hudson….SWOON!! I mean, who doesn’t love a hot Rockstar? I loved their chemistry and the flow of the book. The backstories were believable and the pull these two had for each other just made me at the edge of my seat with anticipation. LOVED every second of it!!!

This was a book that I pick up when I am just looking to get out of the genres I read most of. I consider it a filler book for myself. It is a book that should be read! This was the typical story line where Boy meets Girl .They like each other and partake in each other, and then meet later, things progress! It could go either way left or right! You hope it goes right cuz then everything is locked up tight. Or left and well that leads to many issues and not sure if you are going to get your happy ever after! I am betting that you will enjoy this story and the authors ability to transport you into her world that she has created. It is a really nice place to visit and I know that once you take a sit down with it you will walk away feeling a lot lighter. I really enjoyed this story and Miss Lauren delivers on her story!

This is the 2nd in this awesome series and is Charlie and Hudson’s story. Charlie is a shy wallflower, who lacks self-confidence due to her dark past, and she keeps her talent a secret. Hudson is the lead singer, and sexy, tattooed Rockstar, who is broken and running from his past. When these two have a one-night stand, it was only meant to be that, but they end up working together on his band’s album. I loved how these two developed a friendship before moving on to more, and Charlie ask for Hudson’s help is dealing with her lack of self-confidence. Can these two heal each other and overcome their pasts? This is a well written story which is filled with emotions, heartbreak, and love, which all leads to a steamy and all-consuming and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This book is not your usual rockstar romance. It's one that will pull at your heart strings and leave you with a beautiful experience. It's one where the male protagonist is not shitty, but is supportive. That's exactly what makes this story special.

This was the first book by this author I have read. The storyline was good with some very steamy scenes and cool rock n roll characters. A nice diversion from my 2.4 kid married mum life. I found myself hoping the main characters would end up together and read on to see what it would take before they realised the same thing. The writing was good and easy to read but in some places it felt a bit short or stunted 🤷♀️ . However could have been an exterior voice asking for dinner.
Overall a great steamy rock n roll love story with character development in overcoming past abuse.

Charlie and Hudson have their work cut out for them, yet they work and are meant for each other!
This was a roller coaster of emotion to read and a book that I didn’t want to put down.
I love that Charlie and Hudson became friends before progressing into a natural romantic relationship without even knowing it.
There were times I wanted to shake both characters and tell them to get their act together, but it fit with the storyline.
I’d recommend this HEA romance.

These two have a one night stand then end up working together. Friendship and stronger feelings develop quickly. This was a rockstar romance without guy being a major player that has to change for the right woman. This love story is about growth, healing and two people finding their other halves. I love that Charlie and Hudson became friends before progressing into a natural romantic relationship without even knowing it.
There were times I wanted to shake both characters and tell them to get their act together, but it fit with the storyline.
I’d recommend this HEA romance.

I really enjoyed this book. I have not read a Heather Lauren book before and I was so pleasantly surprised. I loved the characters. You could identify with both of them and I thought Hudson was perfect with his understanding of Charlotte and her shyness. I understood his fears, but so happy his friends got involved. I am definitely going to read more books from this author. I really enjoyed the storyline and everyone involved. I was really looking forward to reading Charlie’s story after a bit of mystery was created around her in the first book, and I was not disappointed. I kind of expected her past to have been more of a thing/brought up more, and for it to be harder for her to get out of her comfort zone. Even still I love this kind of trope, where a shy girl pushes herself so she can live the life she’s always wanted.

After an incredibly hot encounter between to masked people at an industry event, both are shocked to find out that they are both involved with Empire 39 studios. Hudson is the lead singer of Headspace at the studio with his band to record their new album before going on tour. Charlotte is the quiet shy extremely talented songwriter brought in to help them with their songwriting.
Charlie is immediately drawn to the sexy British rocker but knows that he will be leaving soon and she does not want him to leave with her heart. Hudson cannot believe that the sexy siren he met at the event is this shy awkward girl in front of him but he is still intrigued and wants to uncover who she really is. A deal is struck between them to remain friends while Hudson teaches Charlie to be less shy and to recognize how talented she is.
I really enjoyed this friends to lovers and much more romance which was both heartwarming heartbreaking as Charlie with Hudson's help gains confidence is on her way to realise her dream, while he finds that he needs more than life on the road with his band to be happy. A realistic well written story with characters you can relate to especially Charlie. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

If you are looking for a great pick me up and make you feel good book, this is it! Shy girl meets lead singer and asks him to help her bust out of her shell. This book draws you and makes you want to keep reading. I can’t wait to see where the next book will take us!

I enjoyed Hudson & Charlie's book. Good characters with great chemistry. This was a new author for me. I got a copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my own opinion.
