A haunting little book of illustrated stories and poems. As a whole, the collection captures this beautiful ominous spirit of a particular kind of folklore where things are captivating and horrible at the same time - which is a kind of story I really love and have rarely seen done so well. It manages to feel familiar and part of the tradition of folk tales, while also spinning new inventive ideas, elegantly told in these little explorative snippets.
