Staying True, Finding Love
4.5 stars - Okay. So, I'm gonna be forthright with you. Oh, who'm I kidding, I'm rarely anything less than - especially with my reviews. Back on topic. I haven't read the first book in this duet but after reading the second book? Yeah, it needs to be read. I don't think for a moment that it prevented me from enjoying this book but I simply need more of these three.
Kenzi has been caught between a rock and a hard place for a long time but the rock and the hard place have outsized her when she makes a deal with the devil (a.k.a. Leonard King) for the sake of her son, his secret grandson.
All the while, she quickly reignites her friendship with Donovan and Jason. One is clueless as to what's going on behind the scenes, while the other joins her between that rock and hard place. The story is heartbreaking, many times over, but it's also sweet, steamy, crazy, and funny with a heartwarming conclusion.
I like that they each have priorities separately that eventually converge. I also like that, even when the situations get tough, they stick too their beliefs - and they are all tried in different ways. It's a very enjoyable read with fun characters - even when it gets ugly. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Content filled. All of the feels. SPICY.. And a couple of moments where I couldn’t tell if the author said something on accident or on purpose as far as the context went.. but overall a good read.
First and foremost… Leonard is horrible and absolutely nobody can tell me otherwise. Karma got him- as it should.
Otto- Comedy gold with his one liners and I love the relationship that he has with Jason & Donovan.
Proud of Jason for being true to himself and sticking up for everyone when his dad was being so horrible.
Donovan calling out what he see’s when he knows something shady is going down… Yes please! So glad that he and Otto were a match. Also, CEO looks good on you buddy.
Kenzi.. Girl went on a whole rollercoaster of emotions and I truly felt for her. She grew so much as a character and in the end I’m glad things worked out for the better.

This duet was just meh.
Idk why but I really didn’t connect to the characters that much.
I did love the kid tho and I think he gets his own story? I’m really curious and I want to know what kind of man he’ll be so I’ll probably read it

Needs more editing
Not bad, but there are editing errors that really bothered me. Things like, they took off her pants but she was wearing a dress. Or they unbuttoned her blouse but she was wearing a bathing suit. I also hated that she doesn’t have sex with Donovan much. That guy is the sweetest guy and she only has sex with him once but she has sex with Jason a lot. Additionally, Jason is supposed to be this top surgeon but they make him out be kinda dumb.

This 4.5 Star MMF romance sizzles with romance, passion, humor and steam
Wow! I loved this book. Unfortunately, I hadn’t read the previous story, THE BULLY’S DARE and how these three found one another, but Ms. Crooks has written enough of their backstory into this story to explain some things. Still wish I had read the first one.
Kenzi Stratton left Hannsett Island thirteen years ago when she found out she was pregnant from a wild fling with two male friends. Her son, Otto needs the help of his biological father’s renowned medical clinic where she soon discovers Jason and Donovan both work as physicians. Dr. Jason King, son of the CEO of the clinic, and Jason’s BFF, Dr. Donovan, live together since Jason’s divorce. Have they already had MM relations before Kenzi showed up? I wasn’t clear on that. (They recount several instances of interaction that sound older than current times.) Once Kenzi lets down her walls, they fall right back into their threesome and wow…just WOW!
Great book if you like MMF romance. There are explicit MM and MMF doings so be aware. There were poignant moments like at the aquarium, OMG moments like Jason “catching” the ferry, irritating moments like anytime Jason’s father was in the scene, scary moments in the hospital and LOTS of steamy moments. My only problem with the book was the age of Otto who is depicted as 12 years old but he acts like a seven to nine-year-old. What 12yo clutches his mother’s legs as he is introduced to a stranger? There were other things that a preteen would not do but a younger boy would. I think the age of the boy should be amended. Otherwise, I loved this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and I give it 4.5 steamy stars.

It was ok
My major problem with the book was that Kenzi held back information for no reason in my opinion.

She finds out she's pregnant and instead of telling her baby daddy or their best friend, she immediately goes to his father for help? WTH? That makes no sense.
I was annoyed with her during this story. The love scenes are fine. All in all the book was average at best.

What’s the… I don’t want to ask what the kinkiest book you’ve read because that seems disingenuous and sensationalist. I guess what I’m asking is what is the most non-traditional romance novel you’ve read?
The two books that make up the Truth or Dare Duet, The Bully’s Dare and The Doctor’s Truth, by Adora Crooks are my first menage or “throuple” stories. I have to say I found them enlightening.
In #TheBullysDare, Kenzi is 18 spending her summer on Hansett Island, sunning herself on step dad number four’s boat. At the marina is where she meets 19 year old Donovan, the dock boy and they quickly become BFFs. Donovan is gay but has feelings for Kenzi that he’s never had for another girl. Then there’s Jason, also 19 and another Hansett Island local. He’s the quintessential as*hole jock running around with a bunch of other teenage as*holes.
Jason finds himself intrigued by Kenzi when they are thrown together, his father being friends with her stepfather. When Kenzi starts to spend time with Jason, she finds he’s maybe not quite the douche he portrays himself to be.
Ok, here comes some spoilers, but the three of them end up together on a boat and things get intimate. And then things get intense when Kenzi misses her period.
The first book ends with Kenzi leaving the island and the second book, #TheDoctorsTruth picks up 13 years later when she’s returning to the island for the first time. But this time, she’s not returning alone. She has her sick son, Otto, with her. Hansett Island has one of the best medical centers in the world and guess who turned out to be a doctor?
Actually, BOTH Jason and Donovan are top notch doctors, a transplant surgeon and an internist respectively. Can Kenzi keep her secret while relying on the men she knew as boys to figure out what’s making her kid sick? And how will picking up with them where they left off more than a decade before play into it?
Oh, can’t forget the threats from Jason’s father who knew back when what was happening and tried to pay Kenzi off to end her pregnancy. He’s added the twist that if she shares the secret of Otto’s parentage, then he’ll make it so Otto can’t be treated at Hansett.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for sticking with me. This is a two-for-one so 2200 characters just didn’t cut it.
If you haven’t ventured into atraditional relationships in your reading yet, this duet (plus the interim novella and spin-off) make for good introductions. Crooks explores how the relationship evolves between all three collectively but also individually with each other.
For someone like me who has come across these kinds of relationships IRL or in fiction before, Crooks helps to show how these relationships can evolve naturally and work for people without fetishizing or othering them.
The second book, given the added element of Otto and his illness, is extra poignant and goes to show how families can be complete with an extra member or two. And sometimes, relying on a single romantic partner just doesn’t work for everyone; sometimes one can fill the needs another doesn’t. Sometimes, love is really all you need.
(Yep, I did just get that corny. I just can’t help myself sometimes ;) )

Read The Bully's Dare first.
I love seeing Jason and Donovan all grown up. Jason has shed the skin of the bully completely. He’s at the top of his game as a surgeon, but behind closed doors with the ones he loves, he’s a total cinnamon role. He’s a people pleaser in his personal life … and in his sex life.
(To Kenzi’s shock, Jason does’t jack off, finding no pleasure without a partner to please. Kenzi, on the other hand, loves her sex toys.)
Donovan who was forced to kneel for everyone as a teen has quite a Dom streak behind closed doors. But he’s still the grumpy introvert to Jason’s sunshine extrovert. They are quite the pair professionally — Donovan is an internist, Jason a surgeon— and personally.
I love how easily Kenzi once again found her place between her guys. Though, more often than not, it’s Jason in the middle. The boys take turns topping.
No double penetration, strangely enough. Donovan still leans toward guys, even if Kenzi is his exception. Donovan appears to be Jason's exception, though he claims the bisexual label.
Otto’s illness brings Kenzi back into their lives. When we found out Otto needed a kidney transplant, I was sure that’s the need for a donor would have Kenzi revealing her secret to Jason. But Jason is holding the scalpel, not going under it. And the donor, well, Otto now has a piece of all of them.
Loved Kenzi and Donovan from the start of “The Bulky’s Dare”. Jason took a while to grow on me. But as adults, Jason is the one I find the most fascinating. He’s had the most character growth.

Great Conclusion to the Series
This is one of the best books I’ve read about polyamorous relationships; almost makes me want to go out and find one. What would it be like to be adored by two men, who are aso your best friends? Well, if you want to try that out, vicariously, then here’s your story. All the characters are unique and thoroughly engaging, most especially Donovan and Jason, and it’s especially poignant when the two of them express their love for each other. The author does a great job making you feel the love between the three of them, first in the angst and hormone driven summer they spent together as teenagers, and then again, in this book, as adults struggling with all the complexities of life, family expectations, (gone off the rails), careers, desires, secrets, and trying to save the life of a little boy they all love.
In general, the writing was very good, but it could have definitely used some proofreading, to catch errant words which appeared, either through mistyping, or autocorrect. They were only mildly distracting, though often enough, that I think the author needs to find a good proofreader/editor. Overall, a great read, and highly recommend for fans of this genre.

The Three Musketeers For Life -
Kenzie lost her virginity to Jason and Donovan when she was eighteen and for that summer, they were inseparable. However, her life changed in the blink of an eye, which led her to leave Hannsett Island. Kenzie returned years later because of a medical emergency, with the secret and threat still hanging over her head. However, it appears the three can’t keep their hands off each other, which means it is about time the secret is revealed and the threat is neutralised.
The drama, scintillating sexual encounters, engaging banter with bits of humor thrown in, family interference and emotions turmoil portrayed in the story, had me hooked and kept me entertained, to the extent that I read it in just a few hours, as I couldn’t put it down. I will recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazing book to sink their teeth into.

This book 😭🥵😍🖤🤬😍😭🖤 put me through it and back again! I read book one not realizing it was the first in a duet and screamed at the cliffhanger. Thirteen years!!! Thirteen years these three parts of a soul were separated!! It was agonizing!
I honestly think this is one of my favorite MMF relationships I've read. Donovan, Jason, and Kenzi operate together on a whole other wavelength. Was I frustrated a lot because of the secrets? Hard yes. Did I get over it knowing they were a perfect fit for each other and would overcome? An ASTOUNDING yes. These three are cosmic. I adore them.
That ending, the hospital 'situation' 😏, made me SO happy!! I'm actually kind of sad their story is over, I need more! This one is an emotional rollercoaster I'm glad I got to ride.

This one was way longer than the first one, and I'm not mad about that. I like the consequences for actions from the first book, and I like how the dynamics have evolved over the time between books. Also, YES to Jason's self-actualization, we love character development here. TBH I started this series because I saw a TikTok for book #3 and obviously had to read the books in order, but now I don't think I'll even read the third book. I don't know how I feel about Otto being an adult, so I think I just want to leave the series here because it makes my heart happy.

This is the second book and is a continuation of the story from Bully’s Dare which ended on a bit of a cliffhanger.
I fell in love with Kenzie, Donovan, and Jason in Bully’s Dare. This book just made me love them even more. There’s something magical between the three of them.
This was a great story. I loved Otto! My heart broke for him but I loved how Jason and Donovan immediately took to him!

Amazing duet
This is an epic ending to the duet series from Adora Crooks! After a summer together 13 years prior Donavon, Jason and Kenzi are reunited again. But it’s not a simple reunion. Secrets are kept, a common enemy re-emerges and a sick little boy will keep them on this bumpy roller coaster while they try to reconnect and find a happy ending they all need and deserve. This book was incredible and I’m so in love with these three.

I read the first book back in December so was pleased when I saw the second book was out. I thought the first was brilliant and gave it a great review, the second part? Wow, I actually thought it was better than the first. You get to see how matured the characters have become and see who they turn out to be, this was a brilliant read and I started and finished it all in the same day. I read this book as an ARC.

Phew! I was really nervous at the end of book 1 that this wasn't going to be a mmf, but I should have known better than to doubt miss Adora Crooks! I really liked this end for our main characters. There were a few little editing things that stuck out and I kinda wish we could get another epilogue after that super sweet last paragraph. But, overall, I like this one a lot and really happy I kept reading the duet.

So real, so satisfying.
This duet is one of the most real feeling stories I've read. The way the author writes the relationships between parent and child, the little moments, it's just amazing. This duet is one of the most real feeling stories I've read. The way the author writes the relationships between parent and child, the little moments, it's just amazing. I have read the first book already and this finishes the story of three Young youth's drawn together and loved together, but she runs away without telling them why.
Years later she return and Jason and Donovan both doctors and work and live together.
Jason is beer son's father but cannot tell him due to being blackmailing by his father.
The only thing is her son is very sick and needs urgent help.
Loved both of these books.

Decent duology. I liked how this poly relationship was written and I think this author is good with dialogue.
I had to suspend disbelief that Kenzie returns to these two (the "loves of her life") after radio silence for 13 years and not ONE of them is angry with her... Seems unrealistic and also a huge missed opportunity for a good relationship arcs.

Ended up skimming most of it - I just wanted to see Jason find out about Otto and the “big reveal” was very anticlimactic.
Also, medical inaccuracies in books are one of my big pet-peeves. I know as a reader there is some level of belief that needs to be suspended when reading romance but medical issues should not be one of those, in my opinion. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY a hospital would let a surgeon operate on his partner AND son for a kidney transplant.

Full circle
Finally after a decade apart and a man who pushes his own hatred onto his son, we finally see Jason get his HEA.
We see Donovan find his family. Kenzie get the medical help for her son.... And their heas.
Hot chemistry and a few challenges to get them to where they are supposed to be.

Wow. My introduction to this Author, and unputdownably amazing! Very well written. The chemistry between Jason, Donovan and Kenzi was incendiary. Great characters, plenty of drama, action, steam...

I really enjoyed this book. The dynamics between all the characters were fantastic. It was an emotional, heartfelt story that I fell in love with easily from the beginning.

Love is love!
What a nice surprise this story was. I love a good MMF but rarely can find one. This was the sweetest love story with just the right amount of sexy scenes. I will be reading everything I can from this author.

Wonderful story
I really enjoyed reading this story. It was so heartwarming and loving. The author did an amazing job of building the story up and then leaving you with an ending that was beautiful. Great job.
