A hailstorm slid her into his truck, then into his heart…
Sarah was shocked when her car skidded into a tow truck, driven by the one man in this small town she was actually interested in. Julian was unusually gorgeous – a huge mechanic who was also incredibly sweet. Suddenly Sarah was stranded with him, but her need to escape this town was as strong as the magical pull of his kisses, and the way he made her laugh. Living in the big city was Sarah’s childhood dream. The perfect man was making it very tricky to remember that she was only living back here temporarily. Which was more important – a dream man or a dream lifestyle? *** This sweet and steamy romance is a standalone 21,000 word novella. No cheating or violence. Always a HEA! The story was sweet but both main characters were a bit naïve and... simple? I guess that's the nicest way to say they didn't come off as the sharpest knives in the drawer. Sarah was a bit annoying with her sticking to her "plan". I mean, I'm not even sure what her plan was, she just wanted to be running an office in a big city. Didn't know what kind of office or even have an actual position in mind. It was the most 12 year old career goal I've ever heard and the woman was supposed to be 20.

Other than that, I loved how Julian felt about her and was both encouraging but trying to guide her to him. The thing is that you know, even if she chose to leave town, he would have done anything to make it work with her. He knew she was the one for him, no matter what.

Life's Choices -- Be Flexible !!

Sarah Clemens had big dreams and plans. She had studied all about Harvlen Corporation and was ready to ace this interview! Once she had the reception job, she could move up the ladder as she learned even more about the company from the inside. She had no intention of staying in the small town of Ashland. It just didn’t fit her anymore. College had opened her eyes to the world, and working in a big city would keep her outwardly focused to match her new personality… or at least less timid. It began raining hard and she took an exit to get out of the crazy speeding traffic. But as she tapped her brakes, her old car slid into a tow truck parked on the side of the road… HIS tow truck, Julian Clarke! She was driving so slowly that the hit only jostled his coffee cup. She fascinated him. He had helped her with groceries once and she was so organized and efficient at loading the trunk. He was impressed. He got her into the tow truck while he hooked up her vehicle and, by the time he got in the driver’s seat, she had arranged all his work slips in chronological order in a neat pile.

He directed her to the towels to try off from the rain while he put the car in his garage. By the time he returned, she had made coffee and organized his spices alphabetically. She had called the company to reschedule the interview, but the woman said not to bother. They valued promptness (despite the fact the car had slid into an accident and hail was starting), and she was giving the job to someone else who had been on time! When Julian saw her sad face, he tried to cheer her up, reminding her living in this small town was wonderful. Again and again, she was seeing it through his eyes and his optimism. When Sanders Creek overflowed the bridge, she was stranded with him in his cozy house. He told her this was a good thing, since he had been wanting to get to know her for quite some time. Sometimes Fate puts you where you need to be, and Julian saw the best in everything, obviously loving the town and its people.

Julian went out to the garage to make sure he had all the parts he needed for her car. By the time he got back, the kitchen was spotless and everything lined up with military precision! Even the sugar bowl was refilled. He told her he needed a part from in town, but the bridge was flooded and probably would not be clear until noon the next day. But she was stubbornly determined to walk the 9 miles to get to her mother’s shop where she worked. So he told her the only way was with his four-wheeler ATV which would be a bouncy ride through the woods. It was kind of nice having her arms wrapped around his waist as she pressed against him. When they stopped to let the old engine cool down, he tucked her in his coat to keep warm and asked if he could kiss her. Could she really leave her home town now when she realized she was falling for this sweet, gentle man who could make her laugh and feel safe and warm? Or was her supreme stubbornness so strong that she would not give up her dream job in the city for a future with this man who loved her?

Sarah is an independent woman who has always wanted to live in the big city. On her way to an interview she has a car issue and needs to be helped by a tow truck. The tow truck driver is none other than her “crush” Julian. Julian rescues her and brings her to his house because of the ice storm. Julian is content with small town life and Sarah wants more. She wants to pursue her interests. Julian feels so comfortable with Sarah. Sarah is still searching but she likes Julian. They have two different approaches to life but can they come together for each other? It is an original, heartwarming, tender but passionate love story about reaching your goals but differently than what she thought. It’s worth the read!

What she wants is not what she needs....but can he change her dreams to be with him

Wrong Direction is the story of Julian and Sarah. She has just graduated from college and has a plan to move to the big city and work for a big city company. But on her way there is an accident and that puts Julian in her path quite literally. Julian is a mechanic who ends up being hit by the beautiful young Sarah, and not just his truck. One look at Sarah and Julian knows that she is meant to be his. But with her dreams will he be able to convince her to stay with him or will he have to let her go, even if it rips his heart out.

3.5 Stars. The mood of the story is sweet and uncomplicated. Sarah is just out of college and very goal oriented wanting to work in a large city corporation. Julian owns a car mechanic shop in their small town and has long wanted to meet Sarah.

There is not much to the story. The dialogue seemed too young to me both for Sarah and for Julian who was supposed to be an older man. It didn’t appeal to me but it may appeal to others that enjoy an instalove on the part of the man and a young woman seeming to place more value on a life plan for the future than the present.

I found this a quick read, I was okay with the story. I found the female to be really wishy washy and that I was really understanding the male character and where he was coming from. The female character seemed to be too focused on herself to appreciate the man that was in front of her and all he was doing for her. At the end she realized the error of her ways but it took a little too long for it to sink in.

I give this a three out of five stars. I found myself really frustrated with the female character.

Sarah is wanting to leave her small town. She had an interview but due to a storm she never made it and did not get the job. Her car bumps into a tow truck driven by Julian. Julian has been interested in Sarah for a while now. Julian is a wonderful character, he see the good in everything and looks at everything with optimism. Sarah is starting to think differently, sometimes the best plans are the ones made in the spur of the moment. I liked Sarah and I can empathize with her wanting to leave. This was a well written story that flowed really well. Great book.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Julian has admired Sarah from afar but never let her know. Sarah has plans to move to the city. She does not believe there is anything here for her anymore. Mother nature brings these two together. He knows that if he wants to keep her in his life, he will have to do a lot of convincing. She realizes that what she needs might not be what she thought she wanted. I enjoyed their love story

This story is heart-warming and well written. He is a mechanic and tow truck tow truck owner/operator. She is a recent college graduate, working in her mother's gift shop. She wants to get out of the small town and has dreams of working for a large corporation in a big city. He loves their small town and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Their chemistry is a warm sizzle. He understands she needs to go slow and thinks everything through I like how he doesn't push her beyond her comfort zone. He's supportive and understanding. A sweet story.

3.5 stars.

The story had likeable characters who had believable chemistry and connection. I liked that he listened to her and tried to understand her dreams, that he gave her options and tried to find a way for things to work if she stayed and if she left. I would have enjoyed reading about the conversation he probably had with her Dad. I liked seeing how things worked out for them.

Took me a while….

This one took me a while to go in the right direction. I liked Julian from the get go but I really don’t think I ever fully warmed up to Sarah. Something just off about her even when she finally let go. Overall an okay story.
