Bossy Mr. Frosty is a short prequel by K. Webster to the series Brigs Ferry Bay. This was first released as part of the Winter Wonderland giveaway. This is my very first K. Webster book! It’s a M/M, age gap, sexual awakening, office romance and I loved it!

Adrian Frost is nearly forty years old and is the owner of Modern Times Life magazine. He’s known for his surly demeanor and goes through assistants regularly. No one wants to work for him.



Rylan Moore is eighteen years old and grew up running around his parents’ magazine offices. He knows the business top to bottom. But his parents’ magazine is now closed down. He needs a job and he knows he can easily do this one, if Adrian Frost will give him a chance. What he hadn’t counted on is the instant attraction he feels when they meet.

“I need to keep my eyes on the road ahead of me. I just wish it wasn’t so hard now that Adrian Frost has stepped directly in my path.”



Adrian is straight, or thought he was. He just can’t understand his reaction to his new assistant. All he does know is that he needs to get to know him better, preferably in his home, in his bed. He’s never had these thoughts about a man before but he’s not afraid to see where this goes.

This is a very short, happy for now, introduction to this series. The first full length book in the series is Adrian’s closest friend Dante’s story in Sheriff’s Secret. What I love is that we are promised more of Adrian and Rylan’s future as well. I can’t wait to read it!

*Low-key enemies-to-lovers, revenge, age-gap OTP, insa love, workplace romance. But it all worked!

I say it's too short, even for a novella!


The writing is awesome. The characters are convincing.

Adrian is so clueless. Rylan is funny!

For being so short this was awesome.
I really liked both characters a lot. Adrien was adorable in his brutal honesty way and Rylan was such a sunshine.
They both together were sweet like sugar and I loved their little bit of banter.
Something I very much appreciate about this is, that while they have been directly attracted to each other, it took them a little time to actually come together. Then everything happens very fast but I still think for how short this was, the author did it very well.
Overall I wish this would have been longer but I am happy with with how it turned out anyway.

When Rylan's parents sell the family magazine his dreams of taking it over are destroyed. He applies for a job working for Mr. Frosty, the magazine owner who bought his family's magazine, and then dismantled it. Rylan is determined to prove to Adrian that he's an asset to the company. What neither of them counted on was falling for the other.

Rylan was a bit immature despite knowing his business. Adrian was cold-hearted and emotionless until he met Rylan. They were sweet together.

I swore I read this before and left a review, but it's not showing that I did and I couldn't remember if I liked it or my rating. So I read it again. Going through several reviews the book was apparently removed by Goodreads because it was originally on either BookFunnel or ProlificWorks. I forget which. Now that it's available on Amazon hopefully it will stick around on GR this time.

Short office romance about Dante Kincaid's best friend grumpy Adrian Frost.
Demanding Adrian manages to have yet another assistant failing to meet his complicated expectations. When he spots the young man with big brown eyes, twinkling with delight, peer back at me. Shaggy brown hair. Crooked plaid bowtie. Goofy smile sitting at his previous assistant's desk, the cold and calculating businessman is stunned.

Rylan Moore has heard all adjectives relating to his new boss Cold. Cruel. Hateful. but he wants badly to working for the owner of MTL magazine.

Rylan's sparkling and uplifting personality is slowly melting the frosty and straight Adrian. When Adrian offers to cook for Rylan, the two grow closer.

The story is told from Adrian & Rylan's POV and has a HFN ending.

After enjoying Sheriff’s Secret, the first book in the Brigs Ferry Bay series, I was eager for more of the characters. I really enjoyed Kian’s Focus, book two, but it did leave me hopeful there were other characters that would get their stories told. Bossy Mr. Frosty is one of those stories.

I’ll be honest and say I was a little bit too eager for this story. I have a love-hate relationship with short stories, and I wanted more from this one than it could give. Although there were some three-star moments, things were far too insta for me. It was one of those cases where I blinked, and everything had been tied together in a pretty bow. In this case, the issue was me – I really am too picky with my short stories.

All in all, fans of quick reads filled with instalove will enjoy this, but those wanting a bit more depth will be left wanting more.

This adorable novella is about how grumpy pants AKA silly meets his much younger beau Rylan. (It’s an MM romance)

This was a quick, fast little read with minimal drama and an HEA. The story is described as insta-love so I know what to expect, aka have realistic relationship expectations when their are only 94 pages. What I got was a charismatic teenager (Rylan is 18) who thaws his tense, emotionally-closed off boss.

Rylan was just bubbling with life and personality. He was excellent contrast to Adrian, who is all harsh angles, commanding presence, and drowning loneliness. Their chemistry is off the charts and I anticipate that if this was full length novel, these two would seamlessly pour out their hearts to each other. It was simply a sweet and spicy read, the perfect break up in my reading schedule.

If you’re new to MM romances, this is a fun foray into the troupe.

I’m always awed with K Webster’s ability to pack a completely riveting and emotional story into so few pages. If you’ve read the Brigs Ferry Bay series you’ll love seeing how Adrian and Ryland first met.

Considering himself near asexual, Adrian finds himself blindsided with lust by his new assistant Ryland. The boy is 20 years his junior and playfully calls him silly and handsome. Shamelessly flirting while never backing down.

Ryland starts the job with the intention of exacting revenge, until he lays eyes on his boss. Adrian is a contradiction. He is the bossy Mr. Frost. Blunt, demanding, and regimented at work...then he morphs into a caring, concerned, and protective lover.

This instalust/love between Rylan and Adrian still makes me smile so much. Still wishing it was longer but I loved it.🥰

My original review was previously deleted, but I remembered loving this novella which was free during the Prolific Works Winter Wonderland giveaway. This started the K. Webster MM book binge I went on. (Still ongoing too.) Loved the snark and steamy bits with a tug on the heartstrings. 4 Solid stars for me.

Novella’s aren’t usually that fulfilling to me. It’s a rarity. This one was! It’s short, so it’s insta love and fast moving.
The author manages to show character depth and gives a great, fast romance!
Adrian (Mr. Frosty) gets warmed up by his much younger new assistant, Rylan.
Rylan is young, optimistic and focused on his career.
He’s also quickly focused on his boss. It’s a very sweet and endearing two-way street.
The attraction takes Adrian by surprise, he’s not very sexual AND he’s never been with a man.
Great chemistry, lots of heart and really hot!
I loved this story and characters!

This book was such a nice palette cleanse to move forward onto the next book in this series! It's falling for the boss,, very age gap with almost 20 years between the couple, grumpy sunshine, insta-love, all in one novella!! Gotta love K Webster.

I really enjoyed this one, mostly because I just love a good insta-love age gap!

Short and sweet

Bossy Mr. Frosty Adrian goes through assistants like he changes his underwear. He seems unable to keep anyone that is until Rylan. He is pushy, sweet, adorable and let's not forget sexy. It throws Adrian for a loop, a lustful loop that is.
