Tony Graham is a small town person. His high school sweetheart Grace Braythorpe left home early and is now a successful model in New York. He travels to New York to see her. She makes him an offer he can’t refuse. He stays in New York to become her personal photographer and Diarist. Tony becomes dependent on Grace and he lives his life in her shadow as her modelling career flourishes and they travel to exotic international locations. Her life on the edge includes heroin to which she is addicted. She survives overdoses and high profile relationship disasters by depending on Tony for unrequited emotional support. The rollercoaster of life with Grace takes Tony through her mother’s death, his father’s battle with Alzheimer’s ending in death, travels through India, the Thailand Tsunami and finally Grace’s death by overdose. As the beneficiary of Grace’s Will he becomes the custodian of her legacy and ultimately the author of a biographical tribute to her life. Along the way he manages to escape the shackles of unrequited love to find a love of his own. The story explores a relationship of interdependency between two disparate characters, one of them seeking fulfilment in an unrequited love, the other seeking emotional security through an uncustomary commitment. They are Australian characters with distinctly different responses to the international settings of America, India, Thailand and Indonesia in which they find themselves.

Stephen Faulds is an English teacher with many years experience teaching both English and Drama. He has self-published fourteen novels and one non-fiction title as ebooks. He has written many short scripts, which have been performed by students at both primary and secondary level. His play 'Seatown' was performed at The Blue Room theatre in 2007 and has been published by The Australian Script Centre.
