I thought pulling my pack away from Winsford would save us. I never realized how wrong I could be.

After Rowan and I escape Mercer’s hold, we have to get the pack somewhere safe, but my only option is a pride run by a controlling alpha. With everyone safely inside the walls of Winterhaven, Rowan and I attempt to search for the truth, but we’re being hunted and driven f

God, when the last book ended and Quinn had no choice other than to seek shelter and protection for his pack from a controlling Alpha from his past, I had a baaaaaad feeling about what might happen in that scenario, and with good cause.

With Quinn and his pack living behind potential enemy lines, this story gave off a heavier, more oppressive atmosphere than its predecessor and I absolutely hated the scenes with that Alpha, Apollo, who ruled his pride with an iron fist.

Not my favourite Alice Winters.

Where’s the romance? The OTT humour?

The plot is okay but could use some tightening up.

I really just needed some more Quinn and Rowan romance time. There is definitely humour, and it is great, but isn’t as OTT as usual.

I love the characters, for sure, but something feels like it’s missing.

This series is definitely a must read, Of Betrayal and Monsters it’s the continuation of Quinn and Rowan story. I can’t get enough of this book, many new characters that you don’t know if they will become allies or enemies and at the end you will be wrong.
Quinn thought that taking his pack from Winsford would save them, he never thought something would be wrong. The new place is run by Apollo the alpha of the pride he and Graham were part years ago. Quinn and Rowan are doing everything to disco

Book two picks up with Quinn taking his pack to the last place he ever wanted to end up back at, Apollo's pack. When he & Graham left all those years ago, they never thought they would be back. Being on the run from Mercer, their only choice is to get their pack to safety. Once they get there, Apollo tries to get Quinn to submit to him, which he refuses to do. Apollo has so many rules and is such a nasty POS. Also, not all appears as it seems at the compound. In trying to find out additional inf ...more

I’m loving this series!

Quinn and Rowan want answers but their attempts hit a dead end every time. Can they trust their new pack members?

I was on edge trying to figure out everyone’s motives and whether or not they were being genuine. It was hard to tell but it was fun trying to work it out.

Ari made me laugh every time he bated Rowan by purposely touching or cuddling up with Quinn.

I adored Emery; he surprised me at every turn. He was strong, protective and sweet but it was the way he acted ar

I was left stunned at the end of Secrets and really needed to get my hands on Betrayal ASAP, but alas, I had to wait. As soon as this book hit my kindle I devoured it and wasn't left disappointed. While there are some excellent moments of resolution in this book, there's an undertone and an ominous feeling at the end that says the roller coaster is definitely not at an end yet.

Ari...special, silly, wonderful Ari. He's kind of hyperactive to the extreme sometimes, but that's part of what I love a

I've been putting off reviewing this one because I got it as an ARC and I have to review it, but it's the second book in a trilogy that contains a story arc, so it's hard to rate it on its own merit since it's a continuation of book one and a prequel to book three and ends pretty much on a cliffhanger so...

Stuff happens but nothing is resolved and nothing will be resolved until the trilogy finishes in July. We do find out some stuff that gives us hints to how the series will go, maybe, but it's

This series of Alice Winters is not as light-hearted as her other books. Don't get me wrong, there are still silly moments that make you LOL but it's dialed way down.

I thought I knew where this story was going and I was partilally right, what I didn't expect was the scope, but I will say no more. The tale is fascinating and I can't wait for the conclusion! Ms. Winters had me on the edge of my seat for this one. I'm very glad for those sweet and funny moments otherwise this would be a

I loved the first book in this series and I was excited for Of Betrayal and Monsters, although I was also afraid to see what dangers the author might put the Winsford pack through.

One of my favorite things about these stories is how Rowan went from a loner, working only with his horse and dog, to slowly integrating and appreciating pack connection. Quinn, of course, was the main reason why Rowan stayed with the pack, but he also opened up to the group as a whole, relishing being cared for and c

Quinn is in the process of taking his pack to another location to keep them safe. It is with the pride that he and Graham left years before. This pride is run by an alpha named Apollo and he is a total douche. He is the worst kind of alpha. He is a dictator and no one in his pride cares for him. Quinn tells his pack that they have to abide by the rules until they leave. After arriving he and Rowan get permission to visit Rowan's father so they can learn more about the pills he has been taking fo ...more

„Of Betrayal and Monsters“ is book 2 in Alice Winters´s „Winsford Shifters“ series.

And what a lot of fun this was to read.
Above all, I loved the playful banter between Rowan and Ari, our beloved and brave snow-leopard shifter and our sassy and annoying ocelot-shifter ❤

This story continues right after the end of book 1 „Of Secrets and Wolves“.

In order to keep his pack safe, Quinn, the alpha leader of the Winsford pack, is forced to move his people out of his village Winsford and to seek refuge in

Alice Winters is one of those authors that goes on my “must read” list anytime she publishes a new book. I don’t care what the subject matter is or how different it is from other books. She just has a way with words that keeps me coming back for more. I love her ability to keep the humor and lightheartedness balancing even the most serious situations. I adored Rowan and Quinn the first book. Please don’t read this one if you haven’t read Of Secrets and Wolves because you won’t understand the set ...more

We continue the story of Quinn trying to save his pack along with his mate Rowan from Mercer and his need for power and making shifters into abominations who think of him as their alpha.
He calls his old alpha to stay there for a few weeks while they figure out what they're going to do and how to keep his pack safe. With people who look at Quinn like he can save them from their power hungry alpha. A person who betrays them in an unthinkable way will leave you shocked.

Of Betrayal and Monsters is a good continuation of the Winsford Shifters series. I like that it picked up right where Of Secrets and Wolves left off.
While Of Secrets and Wolves is a good start to the series, I think book two is better. I am more comfortable this time around with this author's view of shifters and Quinn's role as Alpha. I enjoyed watching him quickstep his way through different situations and conflicts. He is still not a typical Alpha, but I appreciate his manner of d

I could read a whole book about just Rowan being a snow leopard. He is still struggling to control his animal side after being on suppressors most of his life and it is adorable. And I find Ari JUST this side of annoying so Rowan's reactions to Ari and his interactions with Quinn make me laugh SO MUCH.

The pack is taking refuge with another group of shifters and the dynamics of the new group is really wacky. Something strange is going on and it turns out to me so much worse than they suspected. T
I enjoyed this one more than the first. The pacing was better for me, there were some twists and turns, with some questions answered and others becoming more complex.

Quinn and Rowan are more settled into their relationship and Rowan has embraced his shifter side. I'm thrilled that we see the characters spend time in their shifted forms because floofy Rowan is just precious. While the romance isn't at the forefront, they spend a lot of time together and their bond strengthens throughout. Emery g

I can’t get enough of Alice Winter’s writing! This series is quickly becoming a fave of mine and to be honest I didn’t expect this outcome when I first started reading it. My first and fave book of Alice’s is “Happy Endings” and it delves into the paranormal so I probably should have expected it. I won’t get much into the actual story because you know, spoilers! But I will say that she has crafted some extraordinary characters that not only grab on to your heart from the very beginning but reall ...more

I love, love, love the world Alice Winters has created with the Winsford Shifters! As I mentioned in my review of Of Secrets and Wolves, shifter books aren’t ones I actively and eagerly seek out. But, if a favorite author decides they want to dip their toes into that water, I’m right there with them, giving it a chance. And I am so glad I did with this series! It's everything I love about an AW book, just a little furrier!

We pick up right where the first book left off, with Quinn seeking refuge for his pack with the Winter haven Pride. This pack is run by a controlling Alpha called Apollo.
We learn more about Emery and what he went through while being held captive. His personality shines through and you are going to love him. Rowan's Father also makes an appearance and if you hated him in the 1st book, your going to despise him in this one. I wanted to rip his head clean off!

A Joyfully Jay review.

Of Betrayal and Monsters is the second book in Alice Winters’ excellent Winsford Shifters series. The first two books very much tie together, both in the world building and in Quinn and Rowan’s developing relationship, so you are best off reading these in order. This story picks up almost immediately after the end of Of Secrets and Wolves as Quinn and Rowan travel with their pack to Winterhaven. It is clear right from the start that things are not ok at Winterhaven,

A fun and exciting continuation of the Winsford Shifters. This story picks up directly where the first left off with Quinn, Rowan and Quinn's shifter pack fleeing the grips of Mercer. They have no where else to turn so Quinn takes the risk of bringing his pack to an alpha he had lived with in the past. Apollo allows them entry but they must abide by his strict rules. Obviously Quinn's merry pack of goofballs struggle to abide under this ruthless alpha as does Quinn.

I feel for the Winsford pack. It seems like trouble has it out for them no matter where they are. Thank goodness they have Rowan, Quinn, Graham, Emery, Ari and Logan to help, or is it harass?, each other along the way. “It doesn’t matter what roadblocks we hit, what mountains we have to cross, I’ll be able to cross every single one of them with this man by my side.” I love, love, love Quinn and Rowan. I want to start out reminding readers this is book 2 in the Winsford Shifter Series, reading Of Secrets and Wolves is a must for the story line.
This picks up right from the ending of book one and the transition is seamless. The journey that Quinn, Rowan and the gang embark on is full of twist and turns. They not only are building their new romance but doing so while in danger, Alice has written this with such ease that you can feel their bond getting stronger and stronger with each turn of the p

I'm loving this series! We are back with Quinn and Rowan and some new interesting characters. This is the direct sequel of Of Secrets and Wolves and cannot be read as a standalone.

I was trying to figure out everyone's secrets and motives and the plot twists really surprised me. It's a bit more focused on action and suspense than romance but I really enjoyed it.

The second book to Winter’s amazing new shifter series. This one continues directly where book one left off with the pack having more questions than ever and on the run from Mercer and his pack of mutated shifters. They end up at an old pack of Quinn and Graham’s that’s led by a narcissistic lion and filled with scared and reserved shifters but they have little choice as the enemy keeps getting closer and closer to catching them.

The action from the first book picks up immediately in this part. The drama keeps ramping up. The character growth is really satisfying. We see Quinn really grow as an alpha and get pulled apart by the choices he has to make. Roman is getting more comfortable in his skin... most of the time. Lots of floof happens and cute moments between the couple. Like with all of Alice’s books, there is humour. Because this series has a more tortured soul the humour is even more welcome. A great continuation to the first book! This one was a little longer and a bit more difficult to get into, however when I got into it I was really invested and could not stop reading!

This book is more plot heavy and theres a mystery, some action and a “safe haven”. You definitely need to pay attention when reading this as you don't wanna miss important details! Of Betrayal and Monsters the second book in the Winsford Shifters series packed just as much humor, love and action as book one. It was so great to be back with these characters again that my only complaint is that I have to wait until the summer for the next book which I think is going to bring all the things we have loved about this series so far. The overall story arc continues with twists and turns that keep things interesting and intriguing. Quinn and Rowan finds themselves as a pack within a pack striving to make things better for all. It doesn’t stop their witty banter/one liners/deadpan humour although it does put a dampener on the steamy times but they do manage to squeeze in some.
There’s a great balance between the comedy and action elements that keep the plot flowing, a bit of angst, a cardboard box and the dilemma an

More like a 4.5 which I'm torn about because I honestly did love it but it was a tad chaotic in places and I found myself questioning why some things that didn't add up were just let go.
There is an ongoing story arc so don't expect a HEA.
I adore Quinn and Rowan, oh and Ari, Logan, Graham and Emery..... basically I love them all. A few new characters to get to grips with and I really liked that Emery features a lot. There are quite a few little moments of levity which prevent it from becoming too
