Based on the empowering and beloved viral video rap by six-year-old Sam White and his dad, Bobby, as seen on The Ellen Show and more, comes a book about the many careers kids can aspire to, from A to Z!
You can be an A--an architect, a B--a biochemist, a C--a computer software developer, and so much more! It's all about doing what you love and putting your heart into everything that you do. In this alphabet book of careers, the options run from A to Z! And six-year-old social media sensation Sam White and his dad, Bobby, want every kid out there to know that they can reach for the stars and make their dreams come true, whatever they want to become. Just don't be a Z--a zombie, and let the world pass you by.
With dynamic and joyful art by Robert Paul Jr. accompanying Sam and Bobby's viral rap, this book will have readers celebrating the potential in everyone.
Beautifully illustrated ABC book with careers as the focus. Father-son duo worked together seamlessly to incorporate mainstream as well as lesser known careers with bold letters to capture the attention of preschool through grade 2. The author-illustrator team did an excellent job portraying both genders in math/science fields and including a variety of skin tones, body shapes, and even disabilities in their illustrations and chose to show the working people as children which should make it even easier for young readers/listeners to picture themselves actually doing the various jobs. Love the color palate, full page illustrations and the way the letters are arranged in alpha order but not in strict lines or perfectly vertical. High visual appeal. Great for home, public and school libraries and with more current jobs than other, more “classic” ABC career books.
Based on their viral video, their rap is now on the page for families to read together. I like that x, y, and z are used to emphasize that kids can do whatever they want to leave behind their own impact. I want to know how they came up with this list of jobs because some are more traditional (e.g., lawyer and nurse) while others are more modern (eg., web developer and hospital administrator). This book would be a great read aloud before a career day or bring your grown-up to school to talk about their job.
This is a great book that teaches kids the abc's by letting them know what they can be when they grow up for each letter of the alphabet. The audio version is is rapped by the 7 year old author and his dad.
Great for showing more than the usual careers and adding a possibilities such as gastroenterologist. The illustrations are funny. The aforementioned gastroenterologist is treating a patient that is casually shrugging behind an x-ray showing a swallowed toy car.
