SOOOOOOO bummed this is over!
I decided to check this out after seeing an ad from Manta Comics and after reading the free episodes, promptly got a subscription and binge read all 80 episodes in a little under two days. SO GOOD!
Alexa was an *incredible* heroine! She honestly defines the term "strong female lead" while also being feminine and not afraid to show her emotions. There were times she cried and broke down, yes, but she honestly gathered herself together after knowing she had someone in her corner and fought back for the one she loves and the country she loves. It was so so so good! I never tired seeing her stand up against those who tried to manipulate her or look down upon her. (The ending was definitely VERY satisfying in that regard!)
Vel was such a sweet hero! He has that tragic "back story" surrounding him and being looked down upon as well, but that man is SO caring and loving towards Alexa!! I could not get enough of seeing him open up and allow himself to receive the happiness and joy that Alexa is showering on him. Granted, it was HARD seeing him briefly retreat from her and go down a "dark path" of sorts. I can't tell you how thankful I was that things turned around by the end because I would have been a very upset mess otherwise!
I liked the overall story! There were times it was a little bit dramatic, but the politics were super engaging because I enjoyed seeing Alexa not do what everyone expected or thought she would do. I also enjoyed seeing Alexa make friends with certain people (though specifically one person who is not Vel LOL) and how she just continued to rise higher and higher. She's not your typical princess and appreciated that she rode horseback, loved wearing pants, trained hard, fought at the front lines, and was very strategic. How that wove in with the plot and the romance was definitely one of my favorite parts!
And speaking of the romance, it was another one of my favorites! It's a very sweet and clean slowburn with a touch of danger that may give some angst, but mainly a lot of sparkles and warm fuzzies. I'll definitely miss seeing their romance bloom and them grow closer!
Overall, I loved both seasons and hope this will get a physical release at some point! It's a great story that has a nice "twist" on Beauty and the Beast story that was engaging, fun, and romantic. Definitely recommend it if any of that sounds interesting to you!

i literally cannot believe i read all 80 chapters of this disappointment 💀💀 i rlly had to see it through til the very end to see if something good would happen. okay lemme just start pointing out almost every reason as to why you shouldn't read this:
1) the art is incredibly inconsistent and some character designs dont stay the same all the way through.
2) the story is supposed to be set in a fantasy setting but all of a sudden the world building falls right through and real world countries and places start being named and thrown around, and it's pretty confusing.
3) this is isekai with a huge twist that complicated the plot and story way too much. it got rlly weird very quickly.
4) an INSANE amount of plot holes that never got solved or cleared up by the end of the manhwa/webtoon, which was insanely disappointing.
5) the male lead is literally just a plain cardboard cutout. he has the personality of a fork. he's just there to look pretty and be the girl lead's boytoy.
6) besides being as plain as a cornflake, the male lead is insanely toxic and aware of it, but doesn't rlly do anything to fix it. he also notices exactly what's wrong with his insanely shallow relationship with the female leas bUT CONTINUES TO GO AFTER HER???? weird.
7) their romance starts literally 20+ chapters in...it's 80 chapters...do u see what's weird abt that??? bc i did. the romance started WAY to quickly especially for two ppl who didn't spend more than 5 chapters together in the beginning and who barely even know each other :/
8) the female lead is so fucking annoying and she doesn't develop as a character at any point of the story. she just kept getting WORSE.
that's about all i gotta say about this dumpster dire for now :/ but yeah! i genuinely dont suggest reading this unless you want to suffer. it's basically like a rlly bad 2012 wattpad story in the form of a webtoon/manhwa. i would've stopped reading it by chapter 60 something but i really had to see it through ("gots to see it through my boy").

Me he leído la temporada 1 en una tarde y me ha gustado mucho. Estoy deseando ver como evolucionan los personajes y la trama en la próxima temporada. Adoro las historias con tramas palaciegas y esta tiene de eso y más, romance, fantasía y secretos en un retelling de La bella y la bestia que recomiendo mucho.

I know technically this isn’t like the best fleshed out manhua, but I do not care. I love how obsessed the MC and the FL are with each other 😂😂. They’re just so willing to do whatever and they’re always chasing each other. I also love how the FL is strong but also allows herself to feel things and be upset. Idk. Just something about this manhua hits me just right in my brain cells 😫🫣

I've never been so dissapointed. I looked forward to reading the next chapter every Sunday and I can't believe LB chose to end the first volume/season like that. Yes, it's okay to leave the reader hanging (I mean I absolutely hate it, but I get it), but that's not what this ending was. The story kept me engaged and interested in what would happen next and the freaking romance between Vel and Alexa had me swooning but then you go and end it so abruptly and in a way that just had me gritting my teeth in frustration...I think I might have a heart attack. I'm so dissapointed, I'm on the verge of being angry. AND no reader likes to feel like that. Especially after having looked forward to reading it after getting back from being a leader at a high school youth camp for the weekend. But I'm still giving the story a 3 because up until chapter 42, I actually really liked it. But that last chapter and even the way Vel was drawn has me wondering if the next volume/season will even be worth it.

The beau and the beast ended today with the final chapter and it's all so... disappointing.
The ending is very anticlimactic and rushed where I think it could have delved deeper instead of narrating "and this happened to this person and so forth."(trying to be vague to avoid spoilers)
If I'm also being honest, it wasn't just the ending either. The beginning, middle, and end all either feel rushed, confusing, and or slow. I was hoping it would build up to some explosive ending, but was disappointed.

I was very intrigued to read a reversal of the common troupe beauty and the beast where the beast was actually the woman.
Princess Alexa died (murdered I believe by her twisted sister) Alexa's body was possessed by (I forgot her name, oops) who was from our world when she died by stepping in front of a bus. She's completely different from the docile yet physically strong OG Alexa. The new Alexa wasn't about to be a doormat and accept everything thrown at her by her shitty family because of her 'misfortune' by having an hideous appearance. Alexa takes care of that with a simple wax (though ingenious, I would have though to make it more realistic that she should at least complain by how often she has to wax. I mean she literally has to do her entire body).
Then she meets Vel, who is widely hated because he's literally half demon, though he's a puppy underneath. They fall hard and fast for each other, each trapped by their family circumstance (inheriting powers they didn't ask for). Vel tries to keep her at arm's length, because even though he likes her, he knows that she's be targeted because of him and he doesn't want that for her. She doesn't care. Love didn't work out in her first life and Alexa was willing to take a chance again, knowing things with Vel are going to be different.
While navigating a dangerous political minefield, literal monsters, and a backstabbing family, will Alexa and Vel find happiness? I hope so. I thought it was such bullshit that Alexa made such a big deal about wanting/needing to tell Vel that she was possessing Alexa's body, but then backs out at the last minute.

Actual rating 3.8 stars.
I was enjoying this well enough but had to pause it to read one that was not going to be available.
And that’s kind of how it went. I would pick this back up then another would be scheduled to leave my app and I’d have to pause this again.
Until I finally barrelled down and read the last 10(!!) chapters.
Kind of unfortunate (at least for me), this was not a story where you could just read the last 10 or so chapters and you'd be fine.
It gives you no reminders of who anyone is or what their intentions are towards the main character's. Which I’d usually praise, not treating the reader as dumb.
I also thought the art, not to sound rude, got a bit lazy.
The clothes were still impressive but Alexa pulled the same 3 faces. And that shocked expression really pulled me out of the story.
It really is a shame, the part I remember the most leaves me unsatisfied.
Although, I did like how they clarified something I know confused me previously.
I remember wishing we had more of Vel’s story, more than he’s a half-demon.
I know there were parts I enjoyed, how involved Alexa was in this world she found herself in.
That things didn’t just happen around her, she moved pieces and made political choices.
I kept going back to this so I know at one point, I was liking it. I just wish I hadn’t allowed myself to drop it so many times.

I'd say most of synopses are misleading at least. Is there a love triangle? So far no, and I don't think it's worked if there were one. Sisters' conflict? Got the very bare minimum about so I don't think it will be well developed to be honest.
Male lead is a total sweetheart and I understand what is like to want to love and be loved, but... the same thing makes their relationship shallow so I lost a bit of interest.
Female lead is one of the best I've read might I concede. She's strong in her own ways, intelligent but neither a Mary Sue. The thing is that she's the best of the story, what surrounds her is meh, and well I need more to stay hooked so... maybe I'll stop reading now.

DNF at Chapter 15
I didn’t like how the plot was being executed. The worldbuilding is terrible. I don’t know how the FL is able to survive in a complete different environment.
The FL is a poorly made Mary Sue. How the hell is no one questioning the fact that Alexa’s personality did a 180? Or the fact that the MC knew a lot of battle strategies or mastered the sword in a matter of three months? Muscle memory? Everything about the story is so confusing. The ML is bland and cliche. I wasn’t entirely invested in his character whenever he appears in a scene. There is no substance to any of the characters. Princess Ariel is mysterious, but that’s about all she is. Marquis Belford is just the ex-fiancé. Although, there is some potential in his character development. Nonetheless, he is just as dull as the ML.
There hasn’t been a main conflict introduced yet. There are some things hinted at, like some members of the royal family, but why even bother reading this at all when the manhwa is so slow at moving the plot along.

July 10, 2023Gave up on The Beau and The Beast at around Chapter 30, since I was losing interest and skipped to the last 5 chapters.
I’m glad the main girl got her version of a happy ending but am unsure on why the king and her brother didn’t get more serious punishment for the crimes against their own country. I also have mixed emotions about the sister but am glad she helped the main girl get the throne in the end.

So this is hard to judge.
I really liked Alexa but the male lead Vel was a bit bland. And honestly I found the plot really confusing. There were so many good beginnings of plots. So so soooo many, but in the end most of the plots fell through or just got forgotten for some new plot.
So I might read the next season, just to see if it gets better.

I have the phattest crush on Vel idc what anybody says🤭🤭 every time that man came into view I was rolling around, kicking my feet and giggling fr. alexa is the definition of gatekeep, girlboss, gaslight (her enemies of course). and I love the revenge story, it’s always so satisfying to me!!

The storyline of this manhwa has potential. However, I feel like the progress, narration, and art are all over the place. I like how badass the female lead is and how things are progressing faster but it feels like some of the key information is missing and very confusing. And that's the reason why I dropped this manhwa.

Half-demon (ml) & half-beast (fl). Any enemies won’t have any chance against them. I love how strong-willed the fl is. She’s also smart, wise & not afraid to follow her heart. The art is so inconsistent but perhaps due to the personality of the characters & the storyline, I wasn’t too disappointed/annoyed. Just hope the ending would show they’re happily married tho, but still all is good!

First time reading any sort of manga and I must say it was quite interesting. Loved the story and the artwork. Some parts of the plot weren’t as cohesive and were a little rushed. But all in all, Alexa and Vel’s story was cute and exciting.

I read this on Manta! I am a sucker for the reincarnated troupe and loved this heroine in particular because of her spunk!
I don't want to spoil it but this is definitely a story that's as funny and entertaining as it is endearing.

I love this manhwa, I love how much of a green flag ML is, I don't mind the fact that the art style changes midway through the story. I just don't understand why the author gave an ending that seemed rushed.

OP FL starts out that way and stays that way and I love it. ML could be cooler, but he's not bad. Plot got weird otherwise it's good.

I knew Alexa would be my favourite character here, when she reacts to her new position as princess by slapping up courtiers, dumping her fiancé in front of everyone, and teaming up with Demon Boy.
