Interesting concept of a small town where men outnumber women and therefore pretty much women in general are seen as precious. There was a lot of talk about everybody caring for the women and immediately intervening if a woman was even slightly mistreated by a man because another man could just swoop in to take their place. Yet, the whole Derek and his wife incident totally and completely contradicted these descriptions of the town.
As for the story, you get a cute, sweet story about two people

Sadie is been in love with Lincoln all her life. She is back in Stone Ridge to start a new life and a new project as the teacher of their small school. Can she overcome her fears and insecurities and make Lincoln fall in love with her? A sweet love story.

This was an ok book. I liked the H&h though their decisions at times were weird. The romance itself was decent. However, I had some issues with some aspects of the book. First is consistency, our pro rodeo star/rancher was mentioned as a one off to be former military, with no other mention or backstory besides what I assume was a typo. The other inconsistency was how the town was talked about vs actual interactions within the town. So the reader is told (many times which was a bit much) how the ...more

3.5 stars. This is the first book in the Men of Stone Ridge series and it is a good start to the series. There is a little bit of everything in the book - humor, strong community, painful pasts, some steam, and a tiny bit of angst, all wrapped up with a feeling of love and support. Sadie is a school teacher who has moved back to tiny isolated Stone Ridge, Texas to be the first teacher in the new elementary school. She grew up in the town and is happy to be back. Sadie wants to get married and is ...more

Okay, I totally believe the women in this town have a group called S.O.R.R.O.W. It just fits into the theme of this book! The basics of the story behind the town are that there are too few women and many, many eligible bachelors. And you just know that hijinks will ensue.

Sadie Stevens is sort of a town sweetheart in Lucky Cowboy, doing good wherever she goes and is the first school teacher (in many years), with the most adorable students. Lincoln Carver is one of the good guys in town – a cowbo

Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, and shenanigans the good kind that makes you keep turning the pages till last page has been turned. Lincoln is this very sexy cowboy with issues and his issues have issues. Sadie is a sweet, kind, loving and doesn’t want to wear the title of good girl but the reality is that’ ...more

Great Emotional Pull ... and you get to enjoy a few laughs too.

Sadie and Lincoln …. what a pair. Both have trust issues. Neither trust the word LOVE. Why? In different ways, both have been burned by love. Both were abandoned, both were betrayed... Lincoln by his mother and Sadie by her college boyfriend. Their wounds may eventually heal but do the scars ever disappear?

This is an emotional yet heartwarming storyline that will have readers associating with the characters, understanding their doub

Lucky Cowboy is the first book in Heatherly Bell’s brand-new series, Men of Stone Ridge and definitely had a lot of potential. The “more men than women” concept grabbed my attention, but unfortunately the story lacked consistency in the telling. If the men are so focused on their women, because someone is always waiting in the wings to take their place, and don’t understand the contradiction in Dereks’ actions with his wife. There was also the implication that the rodeo rider/rancher was former ...more

Finally a Great Cowboy Story Teller

WOW, this is my first Heatherly Bell book & I didn't want it to end! Several times this book had me literally sitting on the edge of my seat with all the twists, turns, & emotions in the plot. A well-written cowboy romance is hard to find and this one definitely will not disappoint!

The love story is mainly about Sadie and Lincoln. However, several other sub plots & characters are introduced to the story in such a way you want to learn more about them. Wish ther

If you are looking for a heartfelt story, with ups and downs, angst and passion, you will want to watch as Lincoln and Sadie figure out their love! Both have things in their past to overcome, but they are good people who just need to get out of their own way in order to find the love they deserve. I absolutely loved Sadie’s father’s advice on love. I may need to follow that advice in my own life! This is a stand-alone novel where our hero and heroine get their HEA. There are a couple of story li ...more

4.5 stars.

The start of a new series and one that held my interest throughout. There are lots of interlocking stories in this book and shining brightly is Sadie and Lincoln's and if they really would get the HEA Sadie has always dreamed of. They were such good characters and I loved seeing them do their dance. This series is set in a small town where the men outnumber the women and everyone helps everyone and they use rotas and phone trees! The characters are likeable, honest and had believable s

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. I enjoyed this love story between Sadie and Lincoln. They live in a small town where men were men and women were few. These two were perfect for each other, but they both have some baggage. Sadie has liked him for a while but accepted that it would not go anywhere. Lincoln focuses on a few things in life. Their story might have some highs and lows, but there is no shortage of humor. I will check out the next ...more

Sadie and Lincoln grew up in the same town and he is her brothers best friend. She is back in town to teach young kids and he works a ranch. They cross paths and things go badly at first. Surprises and twists come out from their past, like her best friend and his brother. Romance is hit and miss for a while. Suspense during a kidnapping episode. So many things going on at the same time. Loved the ending and the students participation.

The story of Sadie and Lincoln is the beginning of a wonderful series that will warm your heart. . Sadie is a sweet school teacher and Lincoln, a rodeo cowboy and rancher. She had a crush on him or a while but was was reluctant to start a relationship. He was only in town temporarily and had no intention of staying put, but life happens. It was enjoyable to watch the two of them get together ( with a little manipulation from his Grandma). I would definitely recommend this book.

This is a town where there are 5 men to everyone females. Sadie is a teacher who wants to have speakers come into her classroom so she asks Lincoln knowing he will say no and he does. His grandmother signs him up anyway. He shows out of obligation and then she gets hurt and he help s her, whether out of guilt or more? Can these two get their happy ending?

First in a new series. Her brother's best friend, she's loved him since they were teens. When Sadie comes back to teach in the new school, Lincoln realizes his attraction to her but they both have trust issues for different reasons. Good in depth storyline although I felt like there was maybe too many side story lines going on. On the whole a good story I would recommend.

This is a heartwarming and emotional story that is sweet. The chemistry between the characters is strong. I like the characters but did find some inconsistencies and unbelievable elements in the story-line. Having said that I think the development between Sadie and Lincoln was good.
