This is a really really good book. I've heard of Oscar Wilde before but this is the first time I've ever experienced his work, and it was so great.

The 3 stories in this book are each different than the rest, and those differences made a really good compilation of mystery stories that, although not enough to completely blow my mind, but still very decent and appealing that I had to give it 4 stars.

While the first story - "The Canterville Ghost" - is both funny at the beginning and heartbreaking at the end, the second story - "The Model Millionaire" is more like a moral story, written in a mystery way (which I really loved). But what I loved most is the last story - "Lord Arthur Savile's Crime". People may find it a little bit nonsense, but I just loved the cold, chilling feeling the author secretly injected into the story, and a little bit of indifference plus determination in the main character about his having to murder someone. That's genius! And the end when he had killed the man that he said helped bring him and his fiancée together, is sick and brilliant in a way that I will remember it for some long time.

i read these 3 short stories just to be better at English and yes it helps a lot but i didn't like the stories a lot. It was okay, not good. I prefer The Chanterville Ghost not the other two stories: Lord Arthur Savile's Crime + The Model Millionaire. But i am curious to read other Oscar Wilde works and why not to re-read the original text of these three short stories.

Rating this mainly from the prospective of usefulness for Elementary English users A2. It offers good expressions and some gramarical rules that would be helpful.

I'm not into classics much but these ones I found ironically enjoyable.

As for the adaptation, I can't judge the paraphrazing since I don't know the originals, but I didn't feel the stories were missing major things.

Though mine is a bilingual Eng-Arab translated version xD mostly the English text is the same.
Got in 2011 yet NOW I'm FINALLY reading it😂 *applause *
felt weird coz the level is beyond me now, still was nice as a light read.

the canterville ghost .. and other stories ..
Oscar Wilde ..

‏ .. Lord Arthur Savile's Crime
‏ .. The Model Millionaire

Leer en inglés es una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido. El fantasma de Canterville es una historia hermosa.
