A pack of hellhounds is terrorizing the magical community, but does anyone know where they came from or who has hold of their leash?

Finn and Penny are asked to hunt the hounds down before anyone else gets hurt, but for a six foot, five inch dwarf and a pint-sized dragon, a pack of hellhounds might be a little above their pay grade.

Join your favorite giant dwarf and snarky dragon as they start the hunt of a lifetime. They thought finding lost treasure was difficult, but at least the treasure didn't bite back.

Grab a box of Charleston Chews and kick up your feet. This is one hunt you won’t want to miss.

Charles is a writer

He writes books

He once ate an entire pizza then ran through the streets shouting to anyone that would listen that he was full.

Satisfaction comes easy for those who find satisfaction satisfying.

Charles really doesn't know what to write here... He made up that part about running through the streets and yelling. He has done that, but not after eating an entire pizza; though he has done that as well. Actually, everything so far is true, just not in the right order... That happens a lot.

If you're still reading this, Charles feels like you might be going through a tremendously boring time in your life, and recommends picking up a book. He just so happens to have a few you can choose from. If you don't like his books, then there are a few million on Amazon you can peruse at your own leisure. Though, if you don't like his books, why are you here? Why are any of us here? Is the universe just a simulation that will be reset when we die, like the restarting of the worst/best game in history?

Sorry, Charles may have gone down a Wikipedia rabbit hole last night, starting with 'Brown Bananas' and ending up with 'The Heat Death of the Universe'. it was a long night...

If you have any questions feel free to reach out and ask Charles, he might even show you how to make pancakes.

One of the best of the new breed of writers.

Reading Charley Case is like discovering reading all over again. I still stand in wonder at the success of Anderle, Carr, Sarah N. It's like finding the Hobbit, Stranger in a Strange Land, Foundation and all the beat generation writers that made up so much of my world views!
Just as I have enjoyed so many of the new writers, I really feel an attachment to the 2 books in the Dragonbender series, and the rest of the peabrain books.
Come on people this is the new wave of writers, ride it! If we don't support the new talent with reviews and sharing we will regret it. Keep writing the great books and I'll keep reading! Peace

This book is even better than the first of this great series, and that's saying something!

Until I got this series, I hadn't heard of Charley Case, but I'm going to be following him from now on, as I really love his writing style, and his characters, too

As far as his characters go, the fact that he put together a Dwarf, who seems to be the antithesis of every 'traditional' breed, that I've read about, along with a Fairy Dragon (oh, and HOW I'd love my own version of Penny!), plus Mila - someone who every Magical that meets her, are in agreement that she's more than she seems!

These three have come to be the perfect partnership, and I'm hoping that Charley will be writing more about them, other than his trilogy: 'The Lone Valkyrie', that is a part of the Boxed Set that I bought, from Amazon!

But, getting back to the plot: as his Ship has disappeared: the Dark Star is to blame for this, Finnegan is resigned to living on the Ship, called Earth, that he'd crash-landed onto, and he has settled down, with the plan of going to live next door to Mila, and her flatmate, Danica, a Tree Elf, with healing Powers, who is also a trained Doctor.

He, Penny, the Dragon, and Mila, start to find work among the Magicals, although they don't need to work for the money, given that Finn has a magic Gold Armband, made by an ancestor of his, that duplicates itself on a regular basis - to the point that they had to buy a worked out Gold Mine, and set up business, as if they were still getting gold out of it!

But they weren't the type of people to sit and do nothing and, with the Dark Star causing so many more problems, other than stealing Finn's Ship, they are drawn into finding a Hellhound and her Pups, who had been stolen from a special Zoo, catering to rare Magical animals.

This is a really entertaining series, and this book had me laughing, and sad, and all the emotions - a brilliant sign of even better things yet to come, I'm sure.

So, I'm going to finish this review, as I really want to get on with reading Book Three: 'Anthem of the Dwarf King'. Once I have, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!

Alert

I hate trying to write reviews because there are really only pass/fail results for me. Did I make it all the way through? Yes? 5 stars. No? There would be nothing here to read. In all fairness, if an author holds my attention from page one to the end, they’ve done their job. Anything less than 5 stars is petty criticism from someone incapable of even doing the job let alone doing a better one.

So in respect for the author and their work, I am going to start pasting this along with a generic review I found somewhere. “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”

Cheers

As the team of Finnegan, Penny and Mila work together, they take on the task of hunting for a pack of hell hounds that were stolen from the richest and most powerful man in the country. Of course the Dark Star is bound to be involved somehow, and there is plenty of excitement and danger before all is said and done. I like these characters and the concept of Earth as a spaceship with lots of magical creatures living among the humans wearing glamours that hide their true selves. I’m looking forward to reading the next adventure, as the team seeks to recover Finn’s ship, the Anthem.

Loving Every Minute!

As my title infers, I have been thoroughly enjoying this series. I found myself immediately drawn in to a well-told, well-written story, with a cast of characters I have come to care about. I cannot say enough good about the Scooby gang, so join me for the adventure, action and suspense, with a nice sprinkle of humor thrown in. Start with book one and catch up! I have just finished book two and eagerly await the publication of book three.

Even better than the first

The second book in this series was ha even more of everything I loved about the first! Found myself finishing it at almost 5 in the morning, reading straight through the night. At least being quarantined I know I don't have any place to be later this day. 😁 😉 have already downloaded the next book in the series after which I'm going to check out the other series written in this universe.

Becoming one of my favorite series

The 2nd book was even better than the first. Finn, Penny and Mila are continuing to grow as a team and adding in more friends to help them in their adventures. The story really keeps your attention and wanting to see what happens next. I am very much looking forward to the next book.

Why don’t they just go away?

The story continues, and Mila and Finn get their new found wealth under cover. Simply by buying a played out gold mine and selling the proceeds thru a bank. And of course the mystery of the ship, Earth just keeps bringing more problems as Dark Star and her minions keep popping up. A good read.

Great 2 book ( so far) read

Enjoyed it start to finish! Finn is a well developed character and not quite what you'd expect of a dwarf. Penny too is very cool, a fairy Dragon who doesn't take nonsense from anyone. Finn and Penny meet with Mila , a serious archeologist in book 1 and the adventure begins!

Well done!

I really love Penny the dragon. She's smartly adorable. I still don't understand why Finn is described in the books as handsome and why the book covers have him as ugly. That's a crime.

Book two

Mistakes: I found three. Mostly words in the wrong tense.

Plot: Stopping a terrorist attack using Hell hounds.

Characters: I like the characters. Still have no idea what the main female character is magic wise.
8/10 I still consider this a novella.

A good fun read

I like the character development as the authors continue to flesh out the world and the stories. The pacing is good and the underlying social message is not overhanded.

Love this

I am enthralled with this storyline. I am thoroughly enjoying reading about the Dwarf king and his fairy dragon, Mila and friends. It gave me a totally new perspective of Earth. Imagine Earth being a space ship. Wow! Ordering the next one now.

Finn, Mila and Penny are an amazing cast of characters that just grab you and transport you into their world! This series, and the Lone Valkyrie series after, are just magnificent! Do yourself a favor and dive into these adventures! Best cure for this pandemic world.

Spotify audiobook, easy way to read books, I like the book which combines the real world and the world of magic users on earth. Has elves, dwarfs, trolls, goblins etc so I would say a good read (or listen)

Lots of action, an addictive series

This is a really fun series and I love the characters and universe so far. It is too bad they didn’t get to keep one of the hellhounds, but maybe later they get a dog. 😃 I recommend this series and this book.

Great follow up

Awesome story, great follow up to first installment. Looking forward to book 3. Only a few small grammatical errors, nothing serious enough to drop it to 3 stars.

These are fun stories

Lots of action and not a little tongue and cheek. Finn and Mila have to round up a bunch of stolen hell hounds and it gets mighty sticky. Good reading.
