Cute Color-by-Numbers Book

I've loved the idea of color-by-number books. We didn't have such when I was a child, though we did have the actual paint-by-number kits. This book is supposed to be for kids between the ages of 4 and 8. Not every page is well suited to every child in the range, as some drawings are very simple with large sections to color while others are more complex with finer detail. If you have a younger and older child in the age range, it would be perfect to share. There are a lot of animals, as is typical of children's coloring books, but it has interesting items and shapes to color as well. The author has divided these into levels based on the number of colors. Dividing the book into the sections based on whether or not the illustration had wide-open spaces or smaller ones would have been better, I believe. I don't think kids have a hard time working with another color or two compared to the fine motor skills needed for more complex pictures. In addition to the typical color-by-number illustrations, several were based on a grid pattern. This is an intriguing concept, as it is harder to tell what some of them are without a shape being clearly outlined. There was an issue with these pages, however. For whatever reason, the first number just said “Dark,” not specifying which dark color was supposed to be used. I was surprised when I saw it on the first grid-type color-by-number page, but it was also on the second as well. I wonder what that “dark” color is supposed to be! Despite this, I think this is a well-done color-by-number book for kids that will provide hours of fun and give excellent results in the end.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

I received a printable PDF.file of this book from the author, and the following is my honest opinion.

Being a senior citizen, this book brought me back to the days when I was a young child, and my mother bought me coloring books and a large box of different colored crayons.

This book by Jennifer Trace contains over 80 pages of drawings to be colored-in and the specific colors to be used. The theory behind this is to have children learn how to follow instructions.

Given the pandemic that all of us are facing, it gives children something constructive to do and having fun. The book gives children the ability to learn about following instructions. Finishing coloring a drawing gives children a sense of accomplishing something, especially when their parents take the coloring and places it on the refrigerator or kitchen wall.

While this book has gotten created for children between the ages of four and eight, I found this book to give senior citizens, like myself, an activity that gives us something to use our creativity as we use colors of our choosing. It gives us something worthwhile doing to occupy the time we have all day. The above is the reason I’ve given Ms. Trace and this book 5 STARS.

This is the four book set. Engaging with the enemy, In Her Hero's Arms, Fighting for her Honor, and Rally for the Pilot. I have reviewed each of the these books separately but the first and that was Tyler and Joslyn's story. She shakes up her life and goes to Texas and meets Tyler. Not all is rosey at first but there is an attraction. These are are wonderful stories about alpha males and the women they love and protect. It is a wonderful collection, and the price is right. These all have wonderful characters and the story line is different for each book but they are all wonderful and kept me engaged.

This is a nice color by number book with a certificate of completion at the end! Kids have fun coloring by numbers through both simple and more complex images (ranging from the number of colors to use and variety of details in the pictures).

I especially liked that in addition with the traditional color by number images there were also some hidden images (grid like) that you had to color the squares appropriately to reveal what it was.

I received a free ARC copy of this book but that did not affect my review in any way.

Colour by numbers is a fairly popular way of teaching children numbers as well as following orders.
For a kindergartener I believe this to be a good activity, but not challenging enough for a grade schooler.
The pictures are the typical, popular pictures of animals mostly, clear lines with areas easy to colour.

I got this for my niece to color from and together we had a really fun time doing the pages. I think that it was probably was the perfect level of difficultly for her, and she is 7 yrs old. It was nice to have an actually that incorporated a bit of learning into it
