probably the best book on consent available for children. the book uses ALL the correct medical terms for both female and male body parts, vulva AND vagina, penis AND testicles. it also explains the importance of private parts remaining private and debunks a lot of common grooming methods for children.

explaining that even if it was just a game, even if its someone you know, etc. this book even explains that someone of the same gender and same age can violate your space which is a very hard concept for children to understand but a very common thing amongst children.

Yes to all of this! The best part of this book, in my opinion, is the page that explains what it might feel like if someone is doing something to your body that doesn't feel right. I'm sure this book is going to come with a slew of questions from the child but a parent who is ready to teach their child about this topic can use this as a starting point.

What an amazing book to help teach children how to stay safe around adults with their body. Its sad that this needs to exist but its a very clever fun way to teach them their body is theirs only!

After reading C Is For Consent, I was kind of dreading how this book would turn out but instead I found it surprisingly decent while one that I would recommend more so than than the former.

Only For Me starts off by exploring different aspects of the human body and how they contribute to the things that we do. And then the book gets to the central issue about the private parts of children (while even including a back view of the child), how they should stay private and that no matter what anyone says, does or even promises that you are not required to accept them touching you or any other demands they may make against your body.

At the same time the illustrations also includes various signs and posters that provide young readers with more information whether it is about the differences of secrets kept or even how our bodies try to warn us if something may be wrong thus the book covers a lot of ground.

The book then ends with what young readers should do if they have been put into a compromising position and also how adults can help these children who may come to them. There is also included a helpline in the back but the number seems to be Australian-based so may not be resource that children from other countries can use.

Although this topic is rather heavy I would most definitely recommend a reading of this book along with an adult so that if there are questions they can be answer right away.

Such an important book for kids! It uses all of the correct medical terms for body parts and also has an important message. Honestly a must read for everyone to read together with their kids and to open up a discussion. I highly recommend this book!

This is a really good children's book for teaching that their body is their own. It has anatomically correct names, young-child-friendly images, signs that something doesn't feel right and what to do if something happens.

Though this book has a good message, I fear it tries to do too much. Each component (naming body parts, rules around private parts, and the fallacy of secrets) are all important message - but probably each deserve their own book. That being said, I do like this book and think it has its place.

Muito bom, mas eu realmente queria que esse livro fosse mais trans-inclusivo.

I bought this to read for when my nieces and nephews come over and everything about it is perfect! It is a clear and concise message to kids, but is not in a scary way for them. It's definitely age-appropriate and can teach them a lot. The topic is an extremely important one and I truly feel every person should read this to their kids.
