I’ve gotta make a review for this book. I loved it so much. I’m not a critical thinker or nothing or book critic but honestly speaking. I loved this book. My favorite thing was the use of descriptive words and how everything was painted. Yeah sure some people hate it and sometimes I do too but this book does it in a way that’s just so fascinating. Normally I don’t write these book reviews. First time ever doing it but I had to for this book. It really made me feel like I’ve learnt something from it. I couldn’t tell you what it is but it’s there in my mind somewhere. If you want to read something that will take you through a circle of life and all the ups and downs of it and the nature of understanding and whatnot. Give this a read. Even if you don’t want that. Give it a read. Idk man. But great book. For me at least
I dearly love this book for three reasons. #1, I know this young man -- a friend of my youngest son James Craig. #2 it is about skateboarding and those who people that community, and while I know some of the catchphrases, I don't understand half of it. #3, Evan weaves some magnificent magic with his words and how he phrases it, to paint a picture of a foreign world into some profound moments. I admit, at the age of 60, I cried and laughed in delight with that final chapter. Wonderful little book that I have reread several times!
