When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.
You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.
I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.
too short for such a deep topic of secret baby not sure I understand the reasoning behind it also, I believe them being in lost but love...again too short to tell..but we see this couple more in Earn Your Extra Credit 2,5⭐
The mystery of Lindsay’s baby daddy is finally solved! Loved this little novela so much! It’s a sort of prequel to Meghan’s See Me After Class novel which I still haven’t read so this didn’t spoil me. I loved seeing some of my faves from the Brentwood Baseball series too! Lindsay and Gunner were 🔥 but also very sweet. Really liked them together. This made me wish they could’ve had a full novel but I’ll take what I can get. Another fun and quick read that I’d totally recommend 😊
LOVED the premise of this very short novella. Gunner & Lindsay are 2 characters we see in other MQ books and I was excited to read their story. But I would’ve preferred a longer novella or a full-length novel. This just wasn’t enough for me! I still enjoyed it though—3.5/5 stars.
I was a little disappointed in this book. I always love MQ's writing the plot had so much potential, but why bother writing half a story? Secret baby is a difficult trope to write in a full-length novel, let alone a novella as short as this.
I didn't mind their their relationship was left in a very tentative place, as it was better than forcing insta love, but I didn't feel that Lindsay's reasons for not telling Gunner about their son (for 8 years!!) were at all justified, and I wanted to at least see Gunner meet his kid. It just left me wanting more.
This was ok. I'm not always a fan of novellas. This was a good intro to Gunner and Lindsay, especially after seeing them in the other books in this series. I would really like a full length novel about them though.
3.5 stars I love this series from Meghan Quinn but I did not love this one as much as the others. While we've seen these two in other books in the series, I did not connect with the characters in this novella. I think things were too quick and I just didn't get enough of the story to really connect. I did not like Lindsey's reasons for doing what she did.
This was a cute little story. I originally read it as part of an anthology. I loved getting to know Lindsay and Gunner's story. I really hope Lindsay and Gunner will get a full-length book as well in the future because I loved them so much.
Mr. Klein is Fineis a super short novella from Meghan Quinn about Lindsay and Gunner told through dual POV by the two.
After reading Meghan Quinn’sSee Me After ClassandEarn You Extra Credit,I found out about this story and knew I had to read it as I was definitely curious to learn more about Lindsay and Gunner’s back history.
Mr. Klein is Finetakes place beforeSee Me After Class, making it sort of a prequel to the latter. Also because the timeline has it placed before the book (See Me After Class), the story tells us a little more about Lindsay and Gunner's history. As well as seeing when, where and how Lindsay drops a big bomb on Gunner that he didn’t see coming or expected at all. Knocking him out of the park, from the shock of it.
Consisting of only 5 chapters,Mr. Klein is Fineis a short, sweet and straight to the point story with steam of course. My only issue was it felt a little fast paced, which I get because of it being a novella. But still it had me wishing it was a full length novel instead because Lindsay and Gunner’s story would have definitely be fun to read. Especially since once the story was finished I was definitely sad, seeing as I could’ve kept on reading.
Other than that I enjoyed reading their short story and getting a little more perspective into them and their past. I would definitely recommend check it out!
A lovely little novella that is linked to The Locker Room and See Me After Class. I haven’t read the latter yet but it didn’t prove to have any spoilers, luckily!
Lindsay and Gunner have been hooking up randomly, all through college, when he was home from playing baseball professionally, and finally at Knox and Emory’s wedding (The Locker Room link).
Their last hookup prior to the wedding resulted in a son, but Gunner doesn’t know. He doesn’t even know Lindsay has a kid.....who’s now 8 years old.
They bump into each other at a teacher conference, and after hooking up yet again, Lindsay finally tells him he’s a father.
Apparently we get more of their story in Arlo and Greer’s book: See Me After Class, so I’m looking forward to reading that one!
Am I going bananas? This woman is a terrible person. And then the MMC is told he’s terrible for needing a moment to storm off angry, after the FMC has just had sex with him (has also had sex with him for years) before finally telling him about the son they had 8 years ago. That is an effed up thing to do. He doesn’t even get angry at her - he takes a hike. And somehow he’s the bad guy, and she’s courageous for being a single mother. She *chose* to do it without help - by lying… Like - I understand not telling the father if there is a history of abuse, and you legitimately do not think the child should have contact. But this is… you cannot. Am I weird for this? This is really effed up behaviour. 8 years?!! I’m sorry - but that is truly a horrible thing to do to someone. Maybe because I’m a child that came out of a divorce and some truly bonkers court cases, and had a mother who was a single mother, and basically ended up giving my dad all her savings so that she could raise me full time (she put all her savings into the court case, and told him he wouldn’t have to pay child support, and she wouldn’t pursue the money he owed her if he dropped the case for part-time custody - he was much richer than her, and has lawyers in the family who were doing the case pro bono for him). So like… I understand single mothers doing it tough. I also know my mother would have never denied me a relationship with my father because that would be effed up for both him and myself. I just… I’m sorry. This was effed, and this is not a courageous single mother story. But also she sleeps with him multiple times while keeping this information from him!! Like - there is a weird issue of consent there surely…? Like he is not consenting to sex knowing the full details of their relationship. I’m not saying it’s (content warning) rape, I don’t mean consent in that way. But it does feel like an murky area of consent, because he’s consenting to one thing - without knowing the full facts of what is between them. You know what I mean? I read plenty of dark romance - so playing with consent is fine, but you cannot frame her as being a courageous and good person, and frame him as the a-hole in this scenario. This is not intended as a dark romance in any way - this is just a horrible person being written as if we’re supposed to be on her side.
Former professional athlete now high school coach Gunner Klein is used to being the life of the party, so you can just imagine he was all ready for a wild time at the teachers conference. However he definitely did not expect to see Lindsay at the conference. With their on again off again steamy rendezvous Gunner is all set to woo his way into Lindsay’s bed but when a massive bomb is dropped that he is infatuated the father of Lindsay’s eight year old son how will the former player react?
••
I loved this super cute novella! I have been wanting Gunner and Lindsay’s story from the moment we meet them in the previous book. My only complaint is that it was way to short! I would have loved for this to be a full length novel.

As with all of her book Quinn has delivered a perfect read, filled with laughter. This is definitely a novella that I would recommend reading, do your self a favor and read both See Me After Class, where you will absolutely fall in love with Arlo and get a glimpse of Gunner and his journey to securing his spot in his family, then give Mr. Klein Is Fine a read
Me, Klein, Is Fine is a fast little novella that I ended up really enjoying. It’s the kind of story you can pick up and finish in one sitting, and it left me smiling. Meghan Quinn’s writing always has an easy, engaging flow, and this novella was no exception. The highlight for me was definitely the male character. He was charming, funny, and so likable that he carried the story effortlessly. Even in such a short format, Quinn managed to give him personality and depth, which made me wish there had been even more time to spend with him. While novellas can sometimes feel rushed, this one struck a nice balance—quick, fun, and satisfying, but still with enough heart to make me invested. If you’re in the mood for something short, sweet, and swoony, this is a great pick.
This short story was in the Stories of September and a freebie in the authors newsletter. When I say short, it’s only five chapters and let me tell you, lots happens in those five chapters! This links two series together with characters from both. Gunner was a pro ball player now teaching Sports Ed at high school. Lindsay is a bestie from one of the heroines in the baseball series and has known Gunner since college. They meet up at a teachers convention and things heat up again, amongst other things. As much as I loved it, and I truly did, I would have loved more. I can only hope that with the teachers series, we hear more about them.
I adore Meghan Quinn. Her books have the wittiest banter and make me laugh out loud. Her writing style, pacing, storylines, and chemistry between characters check all my boxes. This one is super short novella that combines The Brentwood Boys with her most recent teacher series beginning with See Me After Class.
The issue I have w/ this one is, as a parent, it’s hard for me to like a main character who could keep the truth of being pregnant from the father… unless there was no way to contact them or they’re abusive. Unfortunately, Lindsay’s reasoning really didn’t sit well with me at all, especially since she’s a teacher.

What a fun little story! Meghan Quinn is one of my favorite authors, I love how she will give you the full circle of emotion in each story!
This is a 5 chapter story about Gunner and Lindsay, and for the short time we are with them so much happens.
This story is going to make you laugh and blush because that’s what Meghan Quinn does best! This is a wonderful quick read that will get you ready for another stand alone, not necessary to read it before See Me After Class, but my OCD makes me do it 🤪
After reading The Locker Room, The Dugout, and The Line Up I was chomping at the bits to get Lindsey's story. She is one of those secondary characters that jumps right off the page and gives the story life. I was so thrilled to finally be able to get a glimpse into her story with Gunner. This is a rather short novella so it did leave me wanting more, but this novella is still full of everything that I have come to love about her stories. If you are a fan of Quinn's Brentwood Boys series and love all of the characters as much as I do then you need this novella in your life.
This is a VERY SHORT story about Gunner and Lindsay. I know them from "The Locker room" with Knox and Emory.
This short story was shorter than i realized when first starting to read it (i hadn't seen it was prequel for another book) but now i realize what the whole pregnancy test situation with Lindsay and Emory resulted in. Yeah, Gunner is Lindsay's baby daddy. This only made me want to read all the books in the series and any that might have some kind of link to it, since i really enjoyed the locker room.
Holy HAWT! Gunner and Lindsay are great for what little we have of them here but I wish there was more. Granted, I haven’t read See Me After Class yet and I guess there’s more of them there but I still think overall they deserve their own, more full length, story.
