"I love this Series!"
This is the third Guardian's of the Night book in Jenna Black's vampire paranormal romance series.
At the end of the last book "Secrets in the Shadows", Gabriel saves Jezebel by changing her and making her his fledging. He plans to use her as a pawn in his devious plan to end the Guardians and kill his father. It is only fitting since Eli tried to kill him centuries ago for being a born vampire. It was a well thought out plan and it should have worked, but there were a few li ...more

A born vampire and therefore not the most mental stable of creatures, the hero turns the heroine for the purpose of using her to infiltrate his fathers group. The heroine, born to a crack head mother and contracting HIV as a child due to dirty needles has had a very hard human life but identifies herself with the hero who's an outcast and a feared creature with seriously parents issues. The hero is not a typical good guy. He is a Killer meaning he's taking human life to quench his thirst and he

Best of series in my mind. I love Gabriel and Jezabel's connection. And the main storyline is wonderfully exciting. Filled with plots and switched aliances. It's action driven, instead of romance/sex driven which I like.
In the previous story, Gabriel wasn't a (to put in mildly) very nice person, but with Jezabel's influence the darkest soul can break. We get to see why he is what he is. They both have simular backgrounds and reasons for revenge, but Jezabel has to teach Gabriel how to control ...more

This is the third book in Jenna Black's GUARDIANS OF THE NIGHT SERIES. I really, really enjoy this series. It's awesome! And with every new book, the world of the Guardians just gets bigger and better. There were so many cool and unexpected turn of events in this one that I can't wait to see what else is ahead. I do know that the next book will be Drake's story, and I can't wait for it.

This is the only book of the series that I thought was worth the hours it took to read it. The story was solid. Gabriel is a hard character to like but eventually you cheer for him. I liked the ending. It was a wrap although the opening for the next book was there. I believe this book can stand alone from the series.
While I have enjoyed the last two books of this series I felt that the writer did some things in this book that I felt were unnecessary. I understand that she didn't describe in any detail the things that happened but I'm just not okay with that kind of thing in the stories I read. I was disappointed that she let that happen in her story.

Jenna Black is your typical writer. Which means she's an "experience junkie." She got her BA in physical anthropology and French from Duke University.
Once upon a time, she dreamed she would be the next Jane Goodall, camping in the bush making fabulous discoveries about primate behavior. Then, during her senior year at Duke, she did some actual research in the field and made this shocking discovery ...more
