"Find someone you can pray with."
Forbidden Sins, sixth book in the A Tomb of Ashen Tears... my mind is utterly and thoroughly blown. Where to starto tell you how much I loved it? My hands are still shaking from excitement, forgive me if I start screaming, lol.
When I finished the previous installment, I was heartbroken, devastated but also hopeful. In this opus, I might as well have experienced all the highest emotions I ever got to experience in a book, and I loved every minute of it. Each word of its intricate and vivid storyline gripped me.
Going back to Sugargrove with Sal, Deacon, Iris, the kids and all the many other wonderful characters felt like going home; the immersion into their world always feels so real. Once started, I only wanted to get going, I needed to live their passions, and challenges at their side.
"I am the fucking Lotus Queen. And I have been silenced. Well played, assholes.
Mrs Samuels once more created a fabulous atmosphere where delicious scenes dance with swoon-worthy moments but also painful parts. Power and money rule. Greed is their fuel.
The omnipresent loneliness never left me. Facing the tragedy of their private lives and juggling with the strategies of the different outfits, choices must be made, new alliances grow, vows are broken and love still manages to find its way.
Don't look for easy, you won't find it. It's raw, brutal, passionate, vibrant, violent. The stress is palpable, the pain of the betrayal stings. But when happiness unsuspectedly shows up, the relief immeasurable.
You get it, Forbidden Sins, will take you on a chaotic road. Brilliant, addictive, stunning. The twists will leave you breathless, the revelations will have you grinning, maybe cringing, seriously screaming.

If you like a badass heroine, a survivor really, who fights for what she stands for and keeps rising in spite of the adversity, if you want a hotter than sin alpha hero who doesn't fear getting his hands dirty and still wholeheartedly takes care of his family, this book is for you.

I literally just finished this book as I write this review. It is a practice of mine to do this so that the feelings evoked in the reading are still tangible. To be honest, I’m still a little in shock, taken aback so to speak, and fully engrossed in this story. It keeps playing through my mind. Kailee Samuels does this to me every time I read a TAT novel. Every time, without fail. She’s that good.
In my reviews I don’t recap the story. I prefer to talk about its effect on me personally. This tale blew me away. Honestly. It had my feelings all over the place: happiness, sadness, fear, shock, more shock, and then anticipation... you name it, I felt it. This story went in directions I never saw coming. Wow.
There were scenes in this book where the darkness is so terrifying that it was gut wrenching to read. It brought out a sense of helplessness that wasn’t abated. I was left shuddering at what was occurring at the hands of the resident serial killer. And then, on a flip side, joy and revelation and satisfaction for other characters were given as a gift. Jeesh, this was an engaging read, albeit agonizing at times. In other words, it’s an excellent piece of fiction. So well done. But I’m not surprised. Kailee Reese Samuels wrote it.
The saga of Sal, Deacon and Iris continues past this book into another book, and I have to content myself with waiting for the next one. And wait I will because the books written by KRS are always worth it. If jaw-dropping, dark, shocking, satisfyingly engaging and excellently written stories are your preference, this is the series for you. Highly recommended!!

Who needs sleep when you have an incredible story at your fingertips??!! Not me that’s for sure. She has done it again with another dark and delicious story involving my favorite men and women of course. You will most likely curse and scream. Copious amount of wine may be necessary. Sit back and enjoy the next edition of this wild ride I never want to end.

This book is part of a series. If you're interested, start from the beginning otherwise you're just going to be confused. That said, lets get into this... have you ever had a book end in a way that you didn't expect? That's what happened to me. I feel like I went to a resturant, ordered chicken wings, but was served frango a passarinho. I loved it, but it was not what I was expecting.
KRS hit all the feels. I literally spit my drink out laughing. Was mad enough to throw my brand new kindle. Cried in joy and sorrow. Wallowed in melancholy. Mourned the losses and celebrated the wins.
Deacon is in an ugly place physically and emotionally. And Iris is being Iris. And I'm sorta fed up with her crap. Sal finally seems to be hitting his stride, and this book ends on a high note for him. But I am strangely unsettled by his current situation. Every instinct I have is screaming for him to not do this. And I absolutely can not wait for the next installment! I NEED to know what happens next!

What an utterly addicting mindf*ck! This dark Mafia romance is full of raw emotions, and it left me with the best book hangover. You feel every ounce of pain, every slice of betrayal, lies and it will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what happened next. It’s intricate plot is a new brand of perfection and the cliffhanger...that cliffhanger is so mind-blowing that it will leave you breathless. Kailee Reese Samuels pulls the rug from under your feet to throw you back into the throes of this passionate story—then, Kailee will push a serrated knife with her intense and raw words until your heart bleeds with emotions. What can I say? The darkness inherited in the characters will make you afraid to turn the page, but the sexiness of it all will assure that you do. I can't even begin to process all the emotions I'm feeling from this episode of Sal's world. These characters have become my family. In between Kailee's incredible words, I miss them. I wish this spectacular world was my world.
About 6% into the book, Deacon reaches into Iris' darkness to try and flip her script. He has an inner dialog about the heart and love and breathing.....
"We're uniquely focused on the heart's representation of love, but I question the idea because to love fully, unconditionally, without borders or boundaries we must encompass all that we are and give it to another. .......And so, we breathe together."
Kailee is a word genius. She seriously messes with your mind and heart, but embrace it! I love and breathe with these characters. Its incredible that they know eachother so well. And the evolving INNER dialog between them proves it. Each book gets better and better and I have a harder time every book finding words that will do it justice. And so, we breathe together. We embrace it and we wait for the next epic masterpiece. Dive in, you won't regret it.

“What would a limitless realm of happiness feel like?”
Wow, I don’t really know how to properly review Forbidden Sins. So much has happened, and there have been many changes. Several books ago, I was questioning a few things, and I messaged Kailee. She told me, “we’re going on a journey,” and that has been the ongoing mantra. While I’m sitting in the wake of this book, questioning some of the changes and feeling complicated feelings towards some of the characters, I remember our fearless leader has never steered us wrong. I stay in the boat, with my life raft close at hand, and continue on the journey, in full faith that things will happen as they are meant.

While you could jump into this having not read the previous books, you won’t be able to appreciate the long road that has gotten us here. You could not feel, with everything in you, the impact of all that has happened. I can only wait for the next book, for the next swoon, the next sledgehammer to the gut, and for the repairs I know are in store. Nicely done.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
This is the sixth book in the Tomb of Ashen Tears and you need to read the first five. They are all equally amazing and dark and I have loved them all and they are so amazing and quiet the journey that's for sure. This book is going to make you laugh and cry and run through so many emotions. It is a real put you through it kind of book. These three are such amazing characters but we find that Deacon is in a super ugly place both physically and emotionally. Iris is her usual self. Sal well he is the one that seems to be getting it all in this book but holy cow I wanted to so yell at him not to do it toward the end of the book!!! I think he should really listen to me because you know if your an avid reader that we have to talk to our characters!!! You either love these characters or you love to hate them I don't think there is any middle ground. But one thing you will do like me is be ready to find out what happens next!!! This book was amazing and Kailee Reese Samuels will like usual put you through the ringer and you will feel like you fought the battle with these characters.

The trinity
As I continue to sit and process this epic amazingly written story (I will do this for weeks) I’m lost in all the emotions KRS creates with her characters. I’ve been pulled so far into this world that I feel like they’re real. When they hurt, I feel it! The little’s I can’t even with Mae!
Our lives collided, exploding, impacting all at once.
We have survivors, but we are not surviving.
Things are about to get nasty, boys.
I’m not sure that I have quoted something more true than that last sentence from above. It’s a rough ride, one I will continuously get on again and again!! Bravo to KRS for another emotionally charged episode and I can’t wait for the next one!
All the while, my newfound happiness brought on a desire to search for more - the intimate, connected bond when two souls know they belong together.

Once again, I'm blown away by this series, which never fails to move me to tears, anguish, and the glory of triumph. I love these characters like they're my own - The Master, The Saint, and the Angel, and the others in between as well. There's a delicate balance between love and hate, and pain and passion, of the sorrow of betrayal and the stark relief of being saved - however that comes, and all of it can be found right here in this saga. In the world of TAT, there are always so many ways that love can manifest, and it helps everyone persevere through their troubles. There's so much packed into her words, so much emotion and all-encompassing love, yet it always leaves me wanting more. I can't get enough of these favorites of mine!

There are not enough descriptors to do this masterpiece true justice, all I can do is give you advice. Find a quiet space, surround yourself with comfort, have tissues at the ready, stay hydrated, and fed. Now...this is important...read a chapter, take a breather to absorb and process what you just read, and continue on.
You will experience emotions you didn't even know existed. The journey is rough and bumpy, surprising and shocking, ugly and beautiful and oh-so-worthy.

The TAT series is an incredible work of art! I suggest starting from the very first book! They are deliciously dark and steamy. The Wicked Queen hit me sideways with the twists and turns and sent me on a hurricane of emotions. Swearing, crying, laughing and at times wanting to throw my kindle! Now that's a fabulous read!!
The evil puppeteer has strategically placed the pieces on the board causing chaos between the king and queen. The bishop and knight are at odds.
"It took an artistic skill to rearrange the pieces on the board without anyone knowing what was occurring."
Totally blew my mind!
Mae is absolutely adorable and so intelligent.
I was so happy with Sal and Iris's relationship. I never really liked her. Sorry. Loved Sal's love and dedication to his two girls. Mae is a firecracker.
Nico has always been my favorite character. The evil within him and the blood on his hands. Please protect him.

I have no words honestly none whatsoever!!!!! Kailee has ripped me from the inside out with this book!!!!! Forbidden sins is the 6th book in the A Tomb of Ashen series and just when I think the last book was amazing the next book knocks the last one off its perch and this book seriously got me in all my feels and more!!!!! I was done in emotionally and mentally after this book I can't put in to words how Kailee makes me feel when reading her books, she will forever be my unicorn author and to me no one will come close to how she writes!!!!!
I'll always need Sal, Deacon and Iris in my existence these are truly wonderful characters who I love!!! Yeah sometimes I wanna throttle Iris lolol but without her the series wouldn't be what it is well with any of the three main characters to be honest they all work together.
This is a loooooooong book and you will need to take breaks lord knows I had to throughout but it never takes away from the story, I felt like kailee had ripped my heart and guts out all at once, my gosh this story is raw, brutal, violent, dark, and once it grabs hold of you it won't let you go!!!!!! I highly recommend this series but to be honest just any book of Kailee's I recommend I'm always waiting and sal-ivating hehe get it!!??? for the next book!!!!!

I don’t have the words to properly convey how fantastic this book is. If you are looking for an author who can take you on a wild ride and feel all the emotions then you need to start reading books by Kailee Reese Samuels. This is by far her best book. I recommend you start at the beginning. You will feel as if you are part of this world she has created. Sexy, dirty, emotional, loving, scary...totally mind f*#king. Thrillers and cliffhangers she delivers it all. The only downside is having to wait for the next book.

This book was huge and not a one sitting run through but still completely captivated me with the story. Sal, Deacon and Iris's story continues through this read and will tug on every emotion possible while reading and some you didn't even know you had. I love these book with their darkness and taking me beyond my comfort zone and something always unexpected is thrown in. I cannot wait to see where the next book is going to take us.

Kailee I don’t know how I felt you have got my emotions all over the place. This is the first long book that I have been able to read in a while and one minute I was in tears and the next smiling. This book continues about Sal Deacon And Iris and there journey. This is one book that will keep you reading.

The pure brilliance of Kailee shines dark in this unbelievable story that will leave you emotionally drained and desperately haunting for more. This one is big with a lot going on so prepare your mind and your heart. The journey continues with Sal, Iris and Deacon and the rollercoaster of emotions in love, life and the cutthroat business of the mafia world. Some will stand trustworthy while others will be the ultimate betrayal.
"Falling didn't mean failing; falling meant rising with more fight."
Sal now having children and being a dad has shifted the importance of his priorities. He has grown and is making changes to be a better man. Sal with Mae, Sal with Ariella..just pure gold!
"A butterfly cannot be caged."
How does he keep loving someone and make them stay when all they want are wings to fly? Even a horrific tragedy will not stop Queen Iris from soaring. She is never to be counted down and out but can she be trusted..I am still questioning that.
"Don't let him go. But don't drown yourself trying to save him either."
Deacon is always the Saint, the savior, but he has his own demons and now they are out fully blazing. How does he survive or should I say if he does constantly leaves you on edge. I was crushed by Deacon, full out crying. Seeing him hurting and his walls finally breaking down was completely heartbreaking.
"Sometimes words are deadlier than bullets."
There are not enough words to describe every single emotion that I felt on every page of this book. Deacon is always the Saint, the savior, but he has his own demons and now they are out fully blazing. How does he survive or should I say if he does constantly leaves you on edge. I was crushed by Deacon, full out crying. Seeing him hurting and his walls finally breaking down was completely heartbreaking.

The TAT series is an incredible work of art! I suggest starting from the very first book! They are deliciously dark and steamy. The Wicked Queen hit me sideways with the twists and turns and sent me on a hurricane of emotions. Swearing, crying, laughing and at times wanting to throw my kindle! Now that's a fabulous read!!
The evil puppeteer has strategically placed the pieces on the board causing chaos between the king and queen. The bishop and knight are at odds.
"It took an artistic skill to rearrange the pieces on the board without anyone knowing what was occurring."
Totally blew my mind!
Mae is absolutely adorable and so intelligent.
I was so happy with Sal and Iris's relationship. I never really liked her. Sorry. Loved Sal's love and dedication to his two girls. Mae is a firecracker.
Nico has always been my favorite character. The evil within him and the blood on his hands. Please protect him.

Forbidden Sins is the sixth book in this incredible series. The writing is done beautifully and the story may be dark, twisted, and intense but I loved every delicious word in Forbidden Sins. I never know what to say in a review for one of KRS's books because with each book of hers I read I am convinced my words won't do it justice. But I will say this author puts her heart and soul into each book and I am a captivated reader who after every book is left wondering when can I get my hands on the next KRS masterpiece. I have no idea how she does it but I don't ever want her to stop writing.

Forbidden Sins is book six of A Tomb of Ashen Tears series. You need to read the previous books before reading this book.
Where do I start? Firstly I’m not gonna say anything about the storyline. If you’ve read anything by this author you’ll know you just wanna jump right in. Be warned these characters will put you through the wringer- I felt so many emotions reading this that I was mentally high fiving the author.
This is yet another amazing read by Kailee. I’m in awe at how she can make me feel the way she did while reading this. I’m already looking forward to reading more from her.

Wow! Just WOW! KRS continues to blow me away. This book was FABULOUS! It left my emotions and thoughts in a tailspin. Each new book in this series continues to be be better than the last and TAT 6 is no different. This book opened doors on secrets and answered some questions I had from older reads. Sal and the rest of the gang definitely took me on a ride full of surprises and I can’t wait to see what happens next. 🖤🖤

This is KRS at her finest. I had to pause so many times throughout this book to make sure I read what I read correctly. Thinking to myself that surely this can’t be right!! This can’t be happening. I have too many emotions going through me right now and I don’t know how to process them.
“His kisses are sweet, with a dedication and loyalty that I know I will never find anywhere else. Sal and Deacon love me.”
After everything we have been through Sal, Iris and Deacon are part of la mia famiglia! I love them with all my heart and when something happens to them I feel it in my heart as if it has happened to me. KRS always keeps me on my toes and begging for more. And I know in my bones this is nowhere near the end.

This is the sixth book in this series and i hope there are plenty more. This is an incredible book by an incredible author. Very dark and twisty but so Good. This book is very dark and twisty but you will not be able to put it down. This author is the type that you will read anything she writes. Long may she continue

I'm kind of liking the sober Sal. Not sure how long he'll remain that way. Otherwise...Holy f..k! It's getting even more 'real' not to mention dangerous. Also, this amused me (Mae's attitude/backtalking):
"You have floats," I correct, ...... "Not you got floats."
"Not when you're Italian."

Amazing, amazing,amazing. Wow! Kailee you are such an amazing storyteller, this series is so perfectly told and leaves you on such an emotional roller coaster. Your character development has you right there in the story with them. I cannot wait to see where Sal, Deacon, and Iris takes us next. You have had me as a fan since the beginning, cannot wait until the next!!!

Oh my god
I honestly can't right now, this series has utterly gutted me, made me laugh, shocked me with all his twists, turns, revelations and its unending. A definite must read in order or you'll really be confused. Although I'm shocked I absolutely love where this author has taken Sal, Iris, and Deacon and I can't wait for more.

This book is so good that it gives you chills. So many emotions will run through you. Twists that you never see coming. I like KRS books bit each one just keeps messing with my mind and making me want more.
