An Angel, a Demon, a Reaper, a Ghost, the Darkness, and a broken soul travel through the seven layers of Hell...
Sounds like the start to a bad joke, right?
After Administer's attack and Lilith's unexpected arrival, we're left reeling. Add in the fact that my essence is trapped in a cage in Hell, and you can see that my life is in complete and utter chaos.
The solution? Travel through the seven layers of Hell, each one more dangerous than the last, to free my essence from Caius's prison and save my soul.
I thought that dying was the worst thing to ever happen to me, but maybe...
Maybe I was wrong.
Maybe there are some fates worst than death.
The only thing left to do is defy destiny.
Defying Destiny is the third and final book of the Afterworld Academy series by bestselling authors Katie May and Loxley Savage. This is a reverse harem romance, meaning that the main character won't have to choose between her love interests. This is medium-burn and does contain strong language and sexual themes. Oh, and death. Lots and lots of death. Reader's discretion is advised.
Series over all was cool. Some.twists and several eye rolls. But they guys came into their own and seemed like separate characters. The heroine got on my nerves a bit but it was interesting take on fates, sins, hell and monsters.
What a good book series! This last book wrapped everything up And tied it with a neat bow just for us. With the race against time for poor Hadley they all had to work together to save her life. Traveling their way through the layers of hell is no small feat especially with the loss of the different things they gave up to give Hadley a chance. In this we also finally Gor to learn what happened to the brothers that had them in the after life in the first place. I will admit I was a little let down in some aspects. The "epic battle scene" felt pretty anticlimactic. On top of that even though we got the happy ending , they brought new information at the end that feels a bit leading but since this is the last of the series hen we know it won't really go anywhere. Overall I still enjoyed this series. I loved the whole after life plot and the sexy scenes were pretty hot. I also liked the characters a lot. They offered every time of person we needed and some we didn't know we needed lol
This series has always been one of my favorites. So to finish reading it, is bittersweet to me. But these ladies did not disappoint. We left off with the evil Lilith being revealed and I find myself liking Saggy Aggie in this, as perverted as she is. When Caius and the brothers have to work together to save Hadley and maybe even lose a piece of themselves it showed me how much they really love her. Having to go through Hell (Literally) to save Hadley and Caius body is a war in itself. But Lilith is a witch and of course nothing is simple. Which left me on the edge of my seat . This book is full of hotness, but also a plot this packs a punch. Honestly I’m sad it’s over, but it ended perfectly and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Definite 5 star must read.
3.5 stars. This was a pretty good ending to the series. I liked how everything came together. Though. I thought that last fight was a bit easier than I expected it to be. Still satisfying.
I’ll be honest. I wanted more sex scenes. Especially a big, dirty group scene, and more of the dominating sex that Brax and her had. I still enjoyed what we were given. It’s just that my main gripe with the book is that it was good, but I wanted more out of it. And I think it was mainly personal preference, not really the books fault.
The series was enjoyable, but not my favorite. I like it, but I’ll probably forget about it in a month.
I'm sad to see them go, I think I'm claiming Caius as my own. Yeah I'm claiming him.
Although Loxley usually makes me wonder if I'm allowed to be released in the world with my wonky morals regarding my love for her books this one is tame and compliments Katie's writing style and I love this series.
And I absolutely adore that ending and hope Austen will find something he likes. And I'm picturing Hadley as one kick *ss woman!
Must read the series if you love angels, demons, reapers, ghosts and 80 year old naked saggy women.
I'm happy to say that I think this book was a worthy ending for these characters! They got a happy-for-now ending and the path that led there was full of yummy steam, surprising twists, and some great action! Of course there were some laughs too (some of which starred the resident crazy old lady, Aggie). I loved this fun take on academy reverse harem, it's not usually a genre for me, but I was happy to find I enjoyed it!
This is a very funny book with lots of whimsical one liners that the characters "think." I loved the way the authors have created the characters, the sub plot behind each characters add they add their history to their pain but they can still find the humour in that pain. Add in the original storyline idea and the plot of the whole story behind everything, I really enjoyed reading this series and will definitely recommend it as a good enjoyable read.
This was amazing!! I am so happy they got a good ending and that everything worked out man this was a roller coaster! I am working on reading an old series I haven’t read since I was 13 and I am so excited!! I also have a test coming up for my A&P classes and I am not excited about that but I digress.
7/10 series and I would read it again and highly recommend.
This was a fantastic ending ending to the series. A good storyline and I loved the characters. Plenty of page turning action. My only complaint is that with how long it was between books I forgot a lot of it. The further I read the more it came back to me but there were some things I was missing.
Holy Fates I can't believe it's over!!! I'm going to miss Hadley and her men so much. It's beyond sexy funny and chock full of adventure . This series ends in a sweet way but still leaves room for imagination.
I really like how the authors ended this trilogy! There are some unanswered questions, like what happens 4th year, but I read the authors left that for a potential new spinoff series. I hope they end up writing it! I love these authors, together and separately!
Plenty of laughs, sexy times and overall good times. The plot finished up nicely, but I thought it would have been better if the empty death that occurs in the afterlife academy changed to where they can move on to heaven too. Oh well, it was still a fun and interesting read.
Sad to see this series end. I was pretty unsure of my feelings towards Caius at first but ended up loving how things played out. There were a few twists that I was able to see coming but still really good. The ending was well thought out and worked perfectly. Definitely recommend reading this series.

Wow this is a really great book. I really enjoyed reading it so much I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I really love the way it ended. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
My kind of RH Academy HEA. This book spent a lot of time in hell and getting there, maybe a little too much. A great ending. I recommend this book and most definitely the series.
Was it predictable yes a bit but it was a really good series. It was well written and had a nice flow to it. The guys are so sweet and I'm glad for the happily ever after. They definitely earned it.
The third and final book sees our group head to the deepest level of hell in order to retrieve Hadleys essence along with Caius’ body. Action packed conclusion with a lovely heartwarming HEA
Exciting, sexy, crazy ride through the afterworld and hell.
Funny, hot, interesting and Saggie Aggie is hilarious. Each MMC comes into their own and is well written in this final chapter of the series. Great way to end this crazy ride of a series.
What a fun and entertaining series! I love the twists and turns... The journey was so worth the ride for Hadley and the guys. These authors are amazing at storytelling.
As always Katie May didn’t disappoint. Well written, funny and keeps you entertained begging to end. I love her 😍 thank you for another wonderful story!
