A Quick, Gorgeous, Lovely, Delightful MM Romance AS A Fling leads to Forever!
I adored Rutherford & Mak❤. This was another one of those books I Stumbled upon Netgalley & don't regret it, DEVOURED this in Around 3hrs!
#This was my 1st by Kellum & I'll surely check out more!

Rutherford (who no one can believe his parents named This) Is introvert & Professional. A Financial Advisor, he's happy with what he has. Not knowing he was missing the excitement until meeting Mak. He's Gay & Technically Out, ju

Whoops! I have been savoring this one in little delicious nibbles, stretching it out as long as possible since the publisher let me have it at NetGalley, thank you very much, anonymous publisher person. And I very nearly stretched it out too long. Today, today is pub day!

So much fun! Let me be clear, there is nothing remotely objective about my opinion. The author is a friend of long and high-standing, so it is all so sweet and funny and delightful and damn near uncanny-valley in how familiar it

Genre: LGBTQIA, Romance

I hadn't realised this was a novella, usually I avoid them, preferring long reads. Sucked in by the rock band romance tag, my sneaky weakness, I didn't look further. Thank goodness, as it proved a great read. And one I will reread.
This may be short but its intense, packed with the drama and emotion I love. There's no filler, no bits that lag, every page adds to the story and that was perfect. I cou

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Delightful and surprising.
"Business and the Beat" was such a lovely, fast-paced and short read that I managed to finish it, start to finish, in a one reading session, exams be damned.

I'm a sucker for opposites-attract so I HAD to request it on Netgalley. The story is quite simple and very straightfoward: a shy and serious financial adviser meets and falls for a slightly childish and smoking hot rockstar bassist, while knowing t

Can true love grow from being slimed?

Business and the Beat opens with a truly unique meet-cute, when financial planner Rutherford is accidentally slimed by rock star Mak in a prank gone wrong. Rutherford is a proper Southern gentleman, old before his years, and Mak is easy going and always up for fun. They wouldn’t seem to be an ideal couple. But Mak is fascinated by Rutherford’s stuffiness while Rutherford wants to relax and have fun for a change, and soon they are spending all their time toget
Rutherford is a financial advisor who gets assigned to work for a rock band. When he gets the first glimpse of gorgeous bass-player, Mak - it's through blue slime that has just dropped on his head. It turns out that the bandmates get up to some serious pranking in their downtime.

Rutherford is well put together, serious about his job, and ... all together different from Mak. Mak is carefree...and has sworn off dating. He's all about having fun for a couple of weeks and then heading off on tour. R

A Joyfully Jay review.

Business and the Beat was a sweet, but somewhat boring story of two men who are so set in the way things have always been, they fail to see what could be. There’s nothing inherently wrong with Business and the Beat and I think there are a fair number of readers who will enjoy it. Unfortunately, I found the plot too slow and the overall story lacking.

Rutherford and Mak are a cute couple and even if there isn’t a lot of depth, they work together rather well. Their

Both plot and writing were simple and straightforward, making this a quick and easy read.

What made this a lovely read were the characters. Strong main characters with distinct personalities and significant character growth, supported by a interesting cast of secondary characters. Ideally I would have liked the story to have been a bit more fleshed out with some of those supporting characters, but I'm assuming we're maybe going to be seeing more of them in future books?

Business and the Beat is an m/m romance about Rutherford Fitzhugh and Mak Makana, two people who make a very unlikely match at first glance. It's quite a short, fast read. I settled down to read a little bit and then stop, because I had chores to do, but I couldn't put the book down. Rutherford Fitzhugh is a financial advisor, and is assigned to work with Mak Makana, a bassist in a famous rockband, to organise his finances. There is instant sexual interest between the two of them, but circumstan ...more

ARC received for honest review on Netgalley.
This is a very quick easy read with a few steamy moments thrown in. As a whole I liked the story line but for me it was missing that WOW factor, it was a very simply told narrative. Mak & Rutherford are likeable as characters however I wanted more, for me they were too simple, their personalities didn't really shine through and as for the band members - what band members? they needed to be a more present in the story as well, Rutherford had Jen & Mack

Imagine that Jason Momoa was in an Alt Rock Band and lived with his best friends and bandmates in a compound outside of Richmond, Virginia. That is essentially how I picture Mak. He is sweet, laid back, with a huge sex drive and identifies as either Pansexual or Bisexual. He hasn't had a true relationship in many years - ever since a guy broke his heart when he was first starting out with his band.

Rutherford is just about as nerdy, white, and buttoned up as you might think. If he wasn't gay - y

Fun, light with some seriousness to it, liked how they changed for themselves on their own - spurred by having met each other and shaped by their time together, then ready for each other when they returned.

Rutherford is a financial advisor who likes his schedule. He makes sure to get to work early and plans out his whole day. He loves what he does and is content with his life. Enter Mak, a rock star in need of financial advising. Mak is well-known not only for his looks but also for his bachelor ways. Sure, he has more than one night stands, but all his partners know the 411 going in - there is an expiration date on the relationship.

I loved this story. It was completely up my alley. I love MCs th

I absolutely adore this book. I'm normally not a huge fan of Rockstar romance because a lot of the focus lies on the famous aspect and how it makes the relationship difficult. While of course the topic is touched upon it isn't a central part of the story.
Rutherford is so lovely and sweet and he and Mak fit together so well. I had a lot of fun getting to know both of them and see them grow separately and as a couple. Overall it's a very cute
