Framed for a murder you actually did commit? Rude.
Sally’s saved the Earth from another alien predator only to be rewarded with a jail cell. With her family threatened by the Agency if she doesn’t rat out Zander and Blayde, her only option to escape the Alliance is to plead ‘aliens’ in a court of law. At least at the Hill Institute for the Criminally Insane, she’ll have time to clear her mind and focus – on revenge.
Finding a way to break out of an institution and cross half the galaxy would be much easier if it weren’t for the midnight screams of terror and eerie doppelgangers lurking at the Hill. With the Agency too focused on capturing the siblings to actually protect the planet, it’s up to Sally to save the day.
Between murder-clown apparitions, alien advocacy groups, and a new translator with compulsive corporate branding, Sally’s got her work cut out for her. Too bad the best plan she can come up with amounts to faux-regicide with the help of an exasperated starship captain. Will she ever find the time to just Netflix and chill?

During the day, she's an astrophysics researcher and studies what comets can tell us about the formation of the Solar System. She currently lives in Marseille, France, where she is currently trying to wrangle some comets, her cat, and her fiancé.
So much action in this one! Almost like 2 books in one. Of course I love Sally, Zander, and Blayde's relationship. Sally and Zander do get a lot closer in this one and their relationship develops into more intimacy. Heck, what am I saying? This is Zander and Sally. They were getting jiggy with it would be more along Zander speak. Mixed in with the action was Sally realizing what immortality really means and what Zander was trying to tell her all along. Fast paced read that will have you laughing out loud.
Once again, an amazing and entertaining instalment to the Starstruck series from S.E. Anderson with the usual sarcastic and relatable humour from all of our protagonists. I particularly enjoyed the pop culture jokes, and references to unnecessarily gendered everyday items. It's an adventure from start to finish, with the author delivering on the now expected but always unexpected plot-twists, a standard has been set and Inalienable very much delivers. I'm always excited for the light-hearted and hilariously funny story I know I'm going to get reading one of the Starstruck books and with Sally being such a relatable character, I'm always dying to know wat happens next. This book will keep you hooked from start to finish.
Seven books in, and S.E. Anderson's Starstruck series is as quirky, irreverent, and action-packed as ever. Sally's adventures with Zander and Blayde are as wacky and out-of-this-world (both literally and figuratively) as ever, and the result is another whimsical, laugh-out-loud page-turner that gives the sci-fi genre a much-needed infusion of humor and refusal to take itself too seriously.
At this point in a series' run, it can be easy for things to become rote or get stale, but Anderson avoids this. A big reason for that is the core trio. Sally, Zander, and Blayde are characters who manage the delicate balance of staying true to themselves while still growing, and the humor infused in their neverending hijinks helps keep every installment fresh. Inalienable is no different; even as the story takes us to familiar territory, we're still invited to realms and experiences we haven't yet had.
We're almost as out of our element as Sally, and for this series, that's a really good thing.
Basically, if you love good sci-fi, and this series isn't on your shelf or e-reader yet, you're really missing out. The Starstruck series is a must-read in a genre lacking in them, and the seventh book, Inalienable, is every bit the equal of its predecessors.
I’ve been following the Starstruck series since I found them years ago and was desperate to catch up with the ones I’d missed. This book picks up from the end of the last one, and I was in for an amazing ride. I ended up reading it in one sitting, and am so glad that I’ve pre-ordered the next one because that ending almost killed me! The story is so beautifully written, making you feel like you’re right there alone with Sally and the gang. I adore the characters, adore the world building and love the way it feels so real, never shying away from the realities of life. Highly, highly recommended!
Every single book in this series is a wild ride from start to finish! There is so much going on for these beloved characters, and I love exploring the galaxies with Zander, Blayde, and Sally. Sometimes it takes the plot a little time to pick up, but once it does, things get crazy until the end of the book. Definitely worth a read if you like snarky science fiction and crazy plot twists!
Book 7 in this series and still loving it! I missed the way these books were written with humour elegantly mixed in the writing style and is not simply slapstick. To be honest, while reading this book, I was not feeling very well mentally due to losing a loved one, but this book helped me pull through and helped me during this time. Looking forward to seeing how the series continues
Sally, Blayde and Zander end up in an institution for the insane. Really? Yup. And they won't jump out of there as they want to find out just what is going on. Nightmares so real could they be real? Blood everywhere. What a ride this was. Hopefully there is more to come of these terrific characters.
