Noh has fascinated me for 30 years, and Yamamba for half of them – ever since I learned of this play. I was fortunate to see Yamamba performed in Kanazawa in 2017, and to have found English texts and exegeses of the play before and after that. More than any other Noh play, Yamamba has stayed with me.
