I’m always down for a good sports romance, especially with real chunks of sports inside. Usually, it’s the physical part of sports–training and games–that is described. Here, it was the emotional part, I guess. This story focuses on Luca who’s about to retire, and how he feels about it.

Ultimately, it’s about a guy who’s changing his priorities. That’s where the romance comes from. He’s single, he has sporadic reunions with his family because he travels so much, and he doesn’t have anything besid

"It’s not very often I end up reading a book from an Australian author but every time I do not only do I love it but I also finish the book with a sense of pride - yep proud Aussie here!!
This book was a little slow to start with, but boy once it found its legs it was all steam ahead.
Luca and Elise were two fabulous characters, and in a perfect world one or both of them I would be happy to call friend.
Their chemistry was jumping from the pages but their back and forth was outstanding and I though

I thoroughly enjoyed Overtime. The story was well written and flowed along nicely. It did start off a little slow for me, but when it kicked in, I could not put it down until the very end. I love any sports romances and this one grabbed me.

I enjoyed getting to know the characters. Luca and Elise were perfect…who doesn’t love a hot sports player. I loved his determination and his desire to make a lifelong decision. I loved Elise’s sweet innocent school teacher personality; I will always believe t

#Luca-Anaconda-Conti and Elise; I loved it!!!

Each time I read one of these sports romances from Author Rebecca Barber, I write that it’s the best one yet. I don’t know how she does it, but after I read the next one, I know that I’ll be saying, it’s even better!!!

I love everything about the witty and hilarious prose throughout these books!! Ms Barber loves AFL, and in this series she’s shifted her focus to soccer, and it’s easy to tell she’s having so much fun writing them! I’ve always found her

This is a new series and takes place in Sydney, Australia and Luca, our hero is a famous soccer player who volunteers for clinics at local schools. That is how he meets the heroine, Elise McCoy who is a school teacher. On his side there was a bit of insta-lust/love. But her feelings took a lot more time to form.

Luca in this story is a family man. He loves his sisters and their families and he also wants a family of his own. In this story he decides to retire, just as he meets Elise. What I love

Intel Chicky Reads Romance (Kara Merideth)
Overtime is a sports romance, insta-lust turned relationship, turned love story. The story is primarily about the hero, Luca, who is in a transition point of his life. He's a professional soccer player, but he's slowing down, getting tired, and is looking to retire before he becomes injured. He's definitely searching for more. He sees his family around him with their families and their homes and realizes while he doesn't know what he wants to do after his career, he would really love to find tha ...more

A soccer player with an accent? Yes please and thank you.

I liked that Elise and Luca came from two very different worlds. He was well known and loved,  in the spotlight with a boisterous family. She was a sweet teacher who mostly kept to herself except for her two best friends Jax and Dina. I totally understood her hesitancy to get involved but there was something about Luca that just made her want to try. I liked that for as much as he was away and busy with this demanding schedule, he made ti

Overtime - Playing the Field Series - Book 1 - Rebecca Barber
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved Rebecca Barbers Playing Games series for its hot AFL players and their sassy ladies, but I’ve fallen hard for the hunky Italian stallion Luca Conti.

Luca and Elise are the perfect foil for one another. Luca has been the international sportsman, travelled and lived a life while Elise is dedicated to her students and doesn’t even recognise Luca for the superstar he is. When these two meet, it’s sweet and it’s awkward but

There aren't a lot of authors who will pen a story about a man who is retiring from his sports career, but Rebecca Barber certainly did that. Luca has come to the point that he's retiring from the sport he loved, but he sure didn't know what was next on tap for his life. Elise is a woman who marches to the beat of her own drum, and I was quite fond of this original heroine who loved being a teacher, and hanging out with her besties. She has no clue about any sports since she's not a fan so when ...more

Overtime is book one in Rebecca Barbers new Playing The Field sports series, and first up is Luca Conti, one of Australia's best international soccer stars.
Luca has just come home to play for a local soccer team after his stint in England and feels like something is missing in his life.
Elise is a primary school teacher who spends most of her spare time with her two besties eating tacos and sipping cocktails at home.
When these two cross paths Luca is immediately smitten and does,everything he can

Another solid offering from this author! Luca has been traveling for years playing soccer internationally and is ready for something else. Elise is a teacher who doesn't even know who he is and cares nothing about sports. They meet when Luca volunteers at her school. He decides that Elise is the one but she is not quite on board. This was a fun read! Throw in Elise's best friends, Jax and Dana, and it was a well rounded story. I really enjoyed hearing from others we have previously met.

Thank you

~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
I love soccer romance stories and this one is one that I will reread again and again. I loved Luca and how he was kind of lost and not sure where his life should go next, he was still a strong character that I loved. Then there was Elise this beautiful school teacher who is wasn't aware she was looking for someone like Luca. I loved their chemistry together and the challenges they faced. I loved the way this story flowed and how i
This was my first read from this author and I enjoyed it very much. I loved the relationship Luca had with his family. Especially his little niece. I loved Elise and her friends too. The talk she had with Jax and Dana at the cafe was too entertaining.
Elise was just what Luca’s heart was waiting for!
Soccer player Luca Conti was finally realizing that he was going to retire from playing but he wasn’t sure just what was going to happen next. The next was meeting teacher Elise McCoy ad realizing that just maybe he could be more than the doting uncle to all his nephews and niece.
Luca knew he wanted more in his life but falling in love with Elise was just what his heart was waiting for!
P.S. Everybody needs a Jax in their lives!
This is the 1st in a new series and is Luca and Elise’s story. Luca is a famous football star who is recently retired, and Elise is a schoolteacher. Luca volunteers for clinics where he goes to local school, and that is where he meets Elise. Luca is instantly attracted to Elise, but she is a little slower to come to that conclusion, and they start dating and getting to know each other. This is a beautifully written story which is sweet, and with friendships, witty banter, family, and is a fun an ...more
Rebecca is a clumsy, introverted, bubble bath loving, chocoholic who'd rather read a book than go shopping. And don't even mention shoe shopping!
Rebecca is a lucky girl - one of four kids to school teacher parents. Wife to a football obsessed husband. Aunt to the most crazy/adorable little girls. And sister to two very determined sisters and one easy going brother.
Rebecca lives in Canberra Austra
