The Unlovabulls #2

Model Behavior

Rate this book
This time around, they’ll both have to take risks to make it work. Don't miss this fun and flirty second-chance contemporary romance.

Hayes Walker is screwed.

His body is giving out, his family is bleeding him dry, and he never prepared for life after football. When the Dallas Bulldogs offer him a coaching position instead of a returning roster spot, only two things keep him going—staying fit in case another football team picks him up, and spending time with a gray-faced Boxer at the Unlovabulls Dog Rescue.

Olive Russo is a woman who can walk through a kennel in a white pantsuit without getting a spot on her. The always organized PR pro will need her cool control when she’s forced to plan a fundraising gala for the Unlovabulls with the college boyfriend who turned her inside out. A decade ago, Hayes Walker broke her heart and sent Olive into a spiral of bad decisions that she’d rather her clients not know about. Now she is determined to keep the completely lickable Hayes off her to-do list—even if their chemistry is stronger than ever.

Dumping Olive was the worst decision Hayes ever made. When the amazing girl walks back into his life a full-fledged woman, he makes a play for her heart. But when Olive’s secrets are exposed and the NFL knocks on Hayes’s door, they’ll both need to leave their past where it belongs if they’re going to make it work the second time around.

Tricia Lynne is fluent in both sarcasm and cuss words and has little filter between her brain and mouth––a combination that tends to embarrass her husband at corporate functions. A tomboy at heart, she loves hard rock, Irish whiskey, and her Midwestern roots. She’s drawn to strong, flawed heroines and believes writing isn’t a decision one makes but a calling one can’t resist.

Tricia lives in Dallas with her husband, the world's sweetest rescued Cane Corso, and a completely terrifying Clumber Spaniel pup.

I honestly love second chance romances. You don’t know what road they are going to travel down … the one of past mistakes or the one of forgive and forget – look forward to the future. Well, Model Behavior was the past mistakes and trying desperately to get Olive to forgive.

Hayes had his reasons and was totally embarrassed by them. A mother whose middle name was “obnoxious” and a sense of responsibility for his little sister. I guess he falls into the “knight-in-shining-armor” category of a man. But, his intentions were all good. When Olive stepped back into his life, he changed. He started becoming the man someone could be proud of (except his mother) and fall back in love with. But, Olive had hurdles of her own that she had to overcome as well. She didn’t know all of his reasons and he didn’t know what she went through after the break-up. Together, they started to figure everything out with the help of the Unlovabulls … especially Sadie.

What a wonderful and wonderfully written story. It was heart-breaking reading what Hayes went through and how hard he worked to reconnect with Olive. There was a part of me that just wanted to shake her at times. But, I also understood why she felt the way she did. Once I started reading this story, I fell in love with both characters and all the unlovable pups that Tricia Lynn brings into her story. Being a new grand-pup-ma, my heart was totally filled with love for all of them.

I also love the way Tricia Lynn tells a story. She knows how to bring the past together with the present … when to add a little laughter to an otherwise tense situation. She knows how to get two people to fall in love, or back in love in this case, with ease and grace. I truly enjoyed reading Model Behavior and can’t want to have more Unlovabulls in my future.

Oh my gosh!! Give me lovable pups, a rough and tumble football player, and you have me at hello. This is my first time reading Tricia Lynne and I can assure you it won't be my last. I graciously received a promotions box via Inkslinger PR with Protective Instinct and a download of model behavior. If you’re looking for a little ASMR please feel free to check out the TikTokof the unboxing. But first and foremost let me tell ya... Hayes Walker is mine. All mine. I am not sharing him with anyone. The second chance romance is exactly what this reader needed. It’s chemistry, sweet Pups, heart-tugging moments, and ultimately love that is everlasting.

On a personal note, I lost my sweet Maggie pup after loving her for 14 years. It’s been six months and I’m still not ready for a new fur baby in my life. I really like the fact that Lynne not only recognized how impactful the loss of a pet is but she was honest and gentle with it in her books too. Thank you for that.

Model Behavior delivers an aging footballer, a flawless PR rep, and dogs! Add in that Olive and Hayes have history? It gets even better.

The book sort of centers around the dog rescue center. Both of my dogs were rescues, so I care deeply about rescue organizations. Olive is planning a fundraiser for the rescue, and Hayes volunteers there. Olive is still hurt about their breakup years earlier and not quick to trust him again. Olive has her own baggage with her need to be "perfect" and her discovery that it isn't why she is good at her job. Hayes has a mean mother who is way too involved in his love life. Both of these two have faces that they put on for everyone and they are realizing maybe they should just stop pretending.

Overall, I enjoyed this second chance romance. There is just enough angst to make it interesting, and lots of cute dogs in training (seriously, I have been through the training with my dogs and it is NOT easy). Model behavior is a quick, enjoyable read if you want something less angsty but still romantic.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second book in the series. I think you can read this as a standalone, but it would help to have the backstory to the shelter, and Brody's link to Hayes.

I really like Olive's chance to see that her perfect life is not a whole life. That being human makes her a better PR guru, not less of one. It comes at a lot of personal cost though, and we travel that journey with her. I also found the whole entry into the world of dog training fascinating and quite different to what I expected - it is fun how it is compared to coaching football players, especially the cues that are given off through movement.

Hayes let his mother ruin his budding relationship with Olive over a decade ago, and seems in danger of doing it again. Thankfully he has a very good friend in Brody, and some tough love brings him back from the edge. We don't often see such blatant abuse from a mother to a son in stories, but it is a good reminder of how parents can do untold damage to their children.

Because they had history, and chemistry, it was easy to believe that they would slip back into comfort with each other, as well as pull back in surprise at that ease. It made for compelling reading, and for a level of tension which hummed along waiting for the shoe to drop!

I will definitely be reading more of this series, as there are some delicious hints at who may be next, and I would love to catch up with Hayes and Olive as well as Brody and Lisa in the future.

Olive was hurt when Hayes ended their relationship years earlier, but she has turned her life around and has created a successful career in PR. She has no interest in seeing Hayes again however her desire to help the kennel trumps all even if it means that they must work together for the greater good.

Hayes feels remorse both for ending his relationship with Olive and the way he did it. Hayes is trying to balance the transition from playing football to coaching as well as family expectations so when you throw his feelings for Olive into the mix you know you are in for a bumpy ride.

Olive and Hayes haven’t been in each others lives for quite a while so they must work through not only the breakup but their pasts as well but they prove that some things are meant to be and it is finally their time.

Model Behavior is the second book in the Unlovabulls series. It is a second chance romance featuring Hayes and Olive. I ended up reading this one is on sitting. I was sucked right into their story and was rooting for them to succeed. The chemistry between the couple was off the charts. I believe steam was coming off of my kindle while I was reading their love scenes. What I loved most about their story was the way they had both changed after years apart. It gave them more perspective and the maturity to really talk about things. There was still angst, but it pay-off in the end was worth it.

This book worked very well as a stand alone. I did love one of the secondary characters, Brody, So I have to go back and read his and Lily's story Protective Instinct. I also loved the other characters and hope that we get Gina's story next. I definitely recommend this one.

In this second installment of The Unlovables series we learn more about Olive’s past. Hayes and Olive were college sweethearts till he dumped her and broke her heart. Since then she has built her life back up and is in complete control. Some say she never lets her hair down. But that is how she stays in control.

Olive has been able to avoid Hayes all these years by having complete control over all aspects of her career and life. That is until Hayes crashes into her at the rescue. Then as if a lid has been removed from Pandora’s box, her life unravels. Can she reign in control before she loses everything she has worked so hard for.

Overall this book was a fun and energetic read. Hayes has such a bubbly and flirtatious personality. But he has flaws of his own and he has to find a way to fix his life in order to truly find happiness. Olive is a complete control freak. But she would give a friend the shirt off her back to help them succeed. She is caring and a bad ass. Together they having amazing chemistry. Olive is the moth to Hayes flame. And what a flame it is. Hot!!

I have to say though that book one was my favorite of the series. I am not saying that this book was bad, it’s not. I just enjoyed book one’s story better.

This book flowed nicely and had a good plot throughout. Hayes situation could compare to lots of other famous people, like Brittany Spears. Family can take advantage of you if you let them. Often it is heartbreaking and hard to grow the back bone needed to deal with such circumstances. This plot made the story very relatable.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and love the whole dog rescue series and can’t wait to read more.

I'm loving the Unlovabulls!! Model Behavior is book two of the series, and is yet another amazing read by Ms Lynne!

Olive and Hayes were college sweethearts, until he was drafted into the NFL. When we meet them, Olive knows Hayes is in the same small city as she is, but ever since he dumped her, she's avoided him as much as possible. They're brought back together by Lily's and Brody's Unlovabulls Dog Rescue. Their story was told in Protective Instincts. Also a great read!!

Olive and Hayes were thrown together to try to get some local football players to volunteer their time for their former teammate's rescue. Hijinx, hilarity and hot, steamy scenes are everywhere!! They have a dog agility show with the NFL Pros vs agility pros; then they have a tent at the Texas State Fair with photos and autographs for donations; and lastly a gala event for $10,000 a plate plus a date and silent auction. Hayes also convinces a band to do a special concert just for the UnlovaBulls. While they are setting all these up and implementing the plans that Olive has set up, there’s all kinds of things going on in their lives. Some good and some not so good. But of course Ms Lynne wouldn’t let her readers down (I hope), and there’s a happily ever after!!

Model Behavior should be required reading for all romance authors, so they can learn how to get all the good parts of the romance genre in one book.without losing steam! I'd recommend this to anyone that likes Southern Fried Romance in a steamy package! 11\10 rating!!

I was given a copy of this book by netgalley for an honest review.

Model Behaviour is book two in Tricia Lynne’s The Unlovabulls series. If you’ve read Protective Instinct then you will have met Hayes Walker, Brody Shaw’s team-mate. This could be read as a standalone but you’d miss how Brody and Lily get together and their amazing work setting up the dog rescue centre. This is a second chance romance as Hayes and Olive were college sweethearts. Can they overcome the past and have the future they’d both dreamt of.

He’d made the worse decision of his life when he dumped Olive the night before he was drafted to the NFL. There were reasons behind his decision but he never told her as so embarrassed and ashamed over it all. He is finding it hard adapting to life not playing football since he was forced to retire. He is currently coaching but finding the drop in wages and family responsibilities a real struggle. He is such a kind guy whose intentions are good but he has let his loyalty to his family control his life. When he meets Olive again, he knows he needs her forgiveness before she will consider being with him again and is willing to just be friends again if that is all she will give him.

Olive was heart broken when Hayes unexpectedly ended their relationship and she let it affect her life with disastrous consequences. Since then she has rebuilt her life and now runs her own very successful PR company. Over the years she has avoided anything to do with football and is shocked to meet up with Hayes at Lily’s kennels. She has to put all her feelings for the handsome man aside when she finds out they will be working together to raise much needed funds for the Unluvabulls Rescue Centre.

This couple have a real connection and the chemistry is still very strong. They hadn’t forgotten each other and never really fallen out of love. They must work through the issues from their original break up as well as everything that comes up once they start dating again. She really brings the best out of him and makes him really consider what he wants out of life. He shows her how to enjoy herself and brings some chaos to her controlled life. He is so considerate to Olive’s feelings and I loved the way they worked so well together on the fund raising.

The dogs are the stars again especially Sadie. I dare you to read this series and not fall in love with all the Unluvabulls. I loved all the information about dog agility and the authors understanding and empathy over all the aspects of dog ownership. It was also such fun the way she brought together the footballers and the dogs. I liked how much we saw of Brody and Lily because I really liked them from book one. They are so supportive and encouraging to Hayes and Olive. I am hopeful that we will get more of Gina the vet and footballer Jensen in the next in the series as well as updates about everyone else.

As we find out more about Hayes and what he has had to cope with since showing a talent for football, my heart went out to him. He has to face up to the realisation that his mother never had his best interests at heart. They have to navigate many ups and downs which kept me rooting for them. They have to right the wrongs of the past and work out what they both really want out of life.
This is an enjoyable read especially for dog lovers and I look forward to more from the Unl0vabulls.

3.5*s

I feel bad for Hayes, he’s been abused by his mother for pretty much his entire life. And now he’s facing the end of his football career with nothing to show for it except a broken body, an empty bank account, and a whole lot of guilt. Meeting Olive again has him looking to the future a little differently, if only he can break free of his past.

Olive hit bottom and has spent years working to overcome it, so coming face to face with the man responsible is quite a shock. Letting Hayes back in could only mean trouble … or it could mean learning what it is to enjoy life.

I love how much Hayes and Olive support each other. Hayes understands that Olive is strong and can handle most things on her own, but she also needs someone who will remind her to relax. Olive does her best to make sure that Hayes realizes that he’s so much more than just a football player.

Both Hayes and Olive had childhoods that left scars they are struggling to overcome but it’s not easy and it leads to quite a few difficult moments and bad decisions. Model Behavior is not necessarily as refined as what I’m used to – the writing is a little rough and the story development was rushed in spots & slow in others – but it’s an enjoyable read. Lynne knows how to bring the heat and the angst so if that’s your kinda thing then I highly recommend Hayes & Olive’s story.

(Can be read as a stand alone but probably enjoyed a little bit more with some context provided in the first book.)

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Hayes Walker and Olivia Russo were very much in love over ten years ago. But Hayes chose a career in football and broke up with her via a text.
After the heartbreak and missteps in her youth, Olivia is nowadays a well respected owner of a PR business while Hayes has been let go from his football team.
Hayes never told Olivia the real reason for his actions, and still after all this time his family, especially his mother, seem to be ruling his life.
When the rescue center their friends run needs help, they both team up to help them get donations. Will this give them a second chance or will the past problems with family have Hayes leaving Olivia once again?
This story is a reminder that one’s experiences during childhood and the way parents treat their children do indeed forever leave a mark on the individual. It will also affect them as they become adults. Overcoming those emotional scars might be difficult, but worth it if it means finding one’s happiness.
This book was the second one in the series and though I felt I would have benefited from reading book one, it could still be considered a standalone.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Carina Press. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Another in the Unlovebulls series, in which PR guru Olive Russo is busy and still grieving the death of her rescue pup. When former football pro, Hayes Walker, now a coach for the pro team he used to be a part of, runs into Olive at the rescue center that turns abused and neglected dogs into pets available for adoption, he's thrilled but Olive less so. In her words, Hayes was her poison back in college, getting her to stop be over-organized and willing, nay eager, to walk on the wild side.

But Olive is determined to keep her cool and keep working the fundraising work she's doing for the Unlovabulls, even if Hayes is designated by the pro team to help her out. The question then becomes who's going to break first and haul the other into bed for mind-blowing sex and cuddling?

What's worse, however, is how each is confronted by their respective pasts and how that seems to still be governing their current behavior. In Hayes' case, his mother and sister are part of his problem; in Olive's, the secrets about her past that she's successfully kept hidden--until they aren't. How will all this affect the growing relationship between Hayes and Olive? Laugh and cry with them as they try to get their lives--together and separately--in order.

Oh I loved this book so much. Olive seems like she has everything all together. She runs a successful PR business. She has a set way for doing things. Hayes has just lost his football career and is now a coach for that team. What none of theirs friends know is that they were a couple in college. When the two end up working together to help the Unlovabulls dog shelter raise money, the past comes out. Hayes always regrets the way he ended things with Ollie and wants to at least have a chance to apologize and maybe be her friend again. She tries to actively stay away from him but finally he is able to get a chance to talk to her. These two had so much feeling to them. I loved their interactions. Hayes has a mom that I just wanted to throttle. He makes decisions in life based mostly on trying to take care of his sister and keep his mom off his back. He never seems to put his happiness first. Throw is a cute rescue dog and this book is great from start to finish. I don’t want to give anymore away as it was great from start to finish. I have read the first book in the series which you don’t have to to enjoy this one, but I loved seeing the characters again. Cant wait for more!

Model Behavior is my first book from Tricia Lynne and it was ok.
A little slow to start. And there were some parts that seemed to drag with unnecessary details.

That being said, I liked that Olive, who was always put together lost herself a bit in Hayes, her old college flame. She found herself there too. He brought out a side of her that didn't need to be perfect and always on. Allowed her to let her hair down and just be. In turn she gave him hope for a future. One he had never imagined he could have. One with purpose and passion. That made him happy, not just able to support their family.

Their second-chance wasn't all happy memories though. There were some painful truths they both had to face. Realities they had to come to terms with. Lines to draw in the sand. I liked that they gave each other the space to work through their issues while also being there to support one another. And isn't that what love is...standing beside someone, supporting them in their struggles, celebrating with them...It may've taken Olive and Hayes a long time to figure it out, but it only made this chance to get it right that much sweeter.

A romance book that includes rescue dogs and a football playing hero that makes his own smoked meat to win over his lady? Count me in!

This was my first book by the author and I’m so glad I’ve been introduced to her through Model Behavior! I honestly wasn’t sure if I should expect much steam based on the cover, but much like a Texas summer it was a real scorcher. There is instant chemistry between Olive and Hayes, as they were formerly together, but I was really hoping Olive wouldn’t give in too easily to it because I was a little mad at Hayes in the beginning. Olive was easy to love and eventually I loved Hayes too, what with him falling in love with an elderly boxer at the rescue as well as showing Olive he was the perfect man for her now.

This is mostly a light read although it does have it’s sad dog related moments as well as feeling a little heartbroken for Hayes and what he is going through. I’m hoping there is more to come from the characters involved with this amazing dog rescue world the author has created!

I'm loving the Unlovabulls!!

Model Behavior is book two of the series, and is another amazing read by Tricia Lynne!

We met Olive and Hayes in book 1, Protective Instinct.  What we didn't learn though is Olive and Hayes were college sweethearts, until he was drafted into the NFL. And that he dumped her via text message with no real reason. (Go ahead and oooooooooooh. I know I did.)

Olive being prepared and aware of their history has avoided him as much as possible, until now. Olive and Hayes are unexpectedly thrown together to work on the fundraising drive for the dog rescue and they are forced to deal with their issues.

While they are working throughthe fundraising plans, their relationship evolves.  There are some great parts and some not so very good ones (for the characters...not for the reader! Trust me, it's alllllll good for us.  Funny. Engaging. Hot and spicy.)

No spoilers from me though, so I guess you just have to read it for yourself. If you like lovable pups and second chance romances, this is for you.

4.5 Stars!

This book is the second in Tricia Lynne’s Unlovabulls series, but you can read it as a complete standalone. However, if you’re a romantic suspense fan, don’t miss the first book, Protective Instinct. Tricia Lynne may be fairly new to the romance book world, but she’s quickly solidifying herself as a go-to author for this reader. Model Behavior is a second-chance romance (a fave trope of mine) packing a lot between its pages. With a sexy ex-football player hero and a successful and equally sexy heroine, it definitely kept me turning the pages and loathe to put it down. Despite plenty of fun times, funny times, and sexy times, this story is chock full of emotion and heart and was a bit of a rollercoaster to boot. Hayes and Olive had so much to unpack then travel through to end up at their HEA. It’s not a light read but worth the ups and downs because, at the end of the day, their story is heartbreakingly beautiful.

A story that involved dogs? Absolutely! A dirty talking bruiser of a football player? Hell yes! A kick ass and sassy, dirty talking heroine? Bring it!

Hayes and Olive were such relatable characters. Their life turmoils were believable. I loved how Olive was always able to get back up swinging after life knocked her down. Poor Hayes and his hero complex. He had to learn how to be a hero for himself. I did find the first chapter a bit of a challenge to get through since it was heavy on facts regarding dog rescue. But after that, the story telling took over. A wonderful read from a new to me author.

I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.

This was a fun contemporary romance read! I got a little hung up at the beginning of the book due to a dogs name being my own (no fault of the book), and the hero’s name is Hayes Walker, not to be confused with the singer Walker Hayes.

This is book two in the series, and I read this as a complete standalone. If anything I want to go back and read the first book now!

Hayes and Olive have a second chance at love, and this hook does a great job of having them choosing each other early enough in the book that we can see them work through things as a couple. Their chemistry is smoking hot too.

If you’re a dog lover, I would definitely recommend this book!

Second Chance Romance at its finest! Hayes and Olive where such a great couple.

I was initially scared at first when we find out how he broke her heart and that made me think I would not get a good enough redemption from Hayes. I almost didn’t!

This book is truly relatable, how Hayes has the “hero” complex and always wants to do the right thing by his sister and mother. While forgetting about Olive’s feelings. I myself have experienced that and was glad Olive stood her ground and loved herself enough to know when to walk away.

I was satisfied with the story and that ending was so swoony! Ughhh I love second chances so much!

Hayes and Olive are just fantastic! If you love a second chance romance this is the story for you! Olive is a take no crap kinda gal and Hayes is the man we dream of in this type of romance story. Always giving us the best plus size gals in a way that you can just feel their confidence and they 100% know exactly who they are.
When they are forced to work together at the local dog shelter, their past is shoved back in their faces. Realizing that Olive is the one who got away Hayes is determined to not let the past repeat itself. Olive is not making it easy on Hayes and I ate it all up and loved every bite!
Most importantly .... dogs and a boxer at that!!!!

Olive is a strong, independent woman, who knows what she wants and works hard for what she has. She runs a PR firm and helps in the kennel. As a favour, she is planning several events to help raise money for it.

She is asked to plan the fundraiser with Hayes. It wouldn't be a problem if they didn't have a history. A painful one.

They were a couple in college, planning for a future together when unexpectedly he broke up with her.

She is afraid to get close again, even if the spark is very much alive because she is afraid of the person she becomes when she is with him, free and not tried down by expectation. The last time that happened is, she was pulled into a spiral that ended with a car accident.

Hayes's family is using him for his money. Now that he is just a trainer and not a player for Dallas Bulldogs, his earnings are much lower and he is in a bad spot. The worst decision he ever made, was dumping her. He is determined to get a second chance.

It's a lovely story, but overly long. There was a lot of info that was unnecessary for a story and halted its progression.

Model Behavior was well behaved! 4 stars

This book was a lovely blend of humor and emotion with steaminess that felt like a well behaved (not angsty) book! Olive was a strong, independent woman with some baggage, and I adored her. Hayes was a confident, laid-back man with just as much baggage, and his journey in this book made me cheer by the end. They were opposites - his chaos to her control - with a second chance, and I enjoyed every minute of reading this book.

*I requested and received an advanced copy of this ebook for my honest review that I am voluntarily leaving.*

Model Behavior by Tricia Lynne is the second book in her Unlovabulls series. I enjoyed this storyline quite a bit. Ms. Lynne set up her conflict well and the resolution was written in a manner that kept my attention. The two main characters, Olive Russo and Hayes Walker were fun to follow along to their Happily Ever After. This read was fun and sexy.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Hayes & Oliver were an enjoyable couple. This is a second chance romance & super cute. Olive works in PR & Hayes is a football player who needs her help. They easily fall back into being comfortable with one another due to their history & of course sparks fly.

This was a cute romance with pups, football & good friends. I recommend the series for anyone who loves a feel good romance!

I love second chance romances and also love dog stories (and love finding dogs that remind me of my dogs...aka the one who is obsessed with tunnels). The steam was awesome and the couple were well matched for one another. Tricia's writing always flows well and the book was just simply a do-not-put-down-until-the-end story. Loved it.
