Rise of the Moon

Rate this book
Half fae. Half shifter. Unimaginable power lying in wait...

The moment half-blood Laila joined the Teton pack, Cedric knew she belonged to him. Completing their bond will not be easy, but Cedric would pay any price to claim her as his mate.

If she stays.

The fae are luring Laila to their realm, promising to introduce her to a side of herself shrouded in mystery. If she leaves—and their bond remains unfulfilled—Cedric will experience a painful affliction unrequited male’s suffer that often ends in death.

Despite it paining him to think of her leaving, Cedric would never force Laila to stay. Only by asserting himself as the powerful alpha he is can he hope of proving to her that by his side—and in his bed—is exactly where she belongs.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Wolf shifters anyone? We meet Laila a very rare half wolf/half fae that has been pretty much held captive by her old evil pack all her life led by the man she thought was her father. It was a pleasant surprise to discover he was not and her real father knew nothing about her though he is more then happy to be a part of her life now. While settling into the Teton pack she discovers her wolf mate just as a fae shows up out of the blue just full of surprises. Pulled between the two she finds it hard to decide but Cedric is determined to do all he can in order to help with that decision even if it may harm him in the end. Makes for a great paranormal romance that balances the two quite nicely while having just enough action to keep the story moving along. Makes for a great read fans of genre are sure to enjoy. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

4-1/2 Stars!

I love supernatural books & I love that each author usually creates such a unique world. This world LP created was magical! Both Fae & Shifters, I loved that Laila was both. She was unique & still a complete badass.

I love the idea of true mates & when I read about them I’m always jealous that’s not a real life thing. The bond between Cedric & Laila was so special & watching it grow was magical. They had a lot of obstacles to overcome, some of which I was pretty surprised over. I’d love to see further in the future with them.

I was pretty surprised with the ending because for most of the first half I thought this book was going to go a completely different direction. It was such a great read & now I’ll have to go back & read the first two books in this series. I’d love to learn more about the Fae world so I’ll have to check that series out too.

I kind of hoped that Laila’s story would end a bit differently. Even though this ending was awesome I’m still bummed by everything she lost.

I've been wanting this author to go back to this series for years now, so I was very excited when she announced this book! I then re-read the first two books in preparation for this book, which I'm really happy that I did! I then received an ARC of this book and I started reading it straightaway! After reading, I can say that I loved this book a lot! It was fun to be back in the characters world and this book only took me a few sittings to read! The plot was developed at the perfect pace and it kept me wanting to read on and find out what was going to happen next! There was plenty of action and suspense to keep the plot interesting and these scenes added to the plot and made me enjoy it more! I loved the romance between the main characters as well and how it developed! It allowed for a few seriously hot scenes as well! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Laila was the main female character, and I loved her introduction in the last book, so I couldn’t wait to learn more about her! I loved Laila in this book! She fit in so well with her father’s pack and she found a family that cared about her and her powers grew a lot! I also felt for her because she was stuck between two sides and she wanted to do the right thing to protect those she loved! I think that Laila made the best decision for her! Cedric was the main male character and love interest of Laila! I got to know more about Cedric in this book and this made me really happy because he was a secondary character in the other books! I also loved him with Laila! He was protective of her and wanted her to be safe and happy! He also knew how much Laila loved her magic and he didn't want her to have to give it up! This told me a lot about the kind of guy he was! I loved that this book was written from both Laila and Cedric's point of views! I was expecting it to be because the first two books were written from dual point of view and the synopsis gives the impression that it's going to be! It helped me connect more with both characters and see how they were feeling and dealing with the changes in their lives! It also allowed for more things to happen in the plot as well, which helped as Laila and Cedric went through some situations by themselves and they did take a few chapters to meet! The ending of this book was also left at the perfect place and I loved it a lot! I'm really hoping that there's more books in this series because I can think of several secondary characters that deserve their own books! There wasn't any information about more books at the end of this one, but the author did say that she has some ideas for future books! I can't wait to read more books because this series is one of my favourites from this author! I was also a lover of the original covers for the first two books in the series, but the author changed them all to match the cover for this book! I love the new covers and they suit the feel of the series! They're all hot too!

When half fae-half artic wolf shifter Laila joins the Teton pack and finally connects with her father, she’s beyond the moon. Being a half-breed, she’s not sure her place in the world, and the world she finally escaped from hasn’t prepared her for how truly great pack life is. Out at the bar with friends one night, she senses her mate, but doesn’t know who it is. The next thing she knows, a fae prince named Beck has come to warn her about another dark fae who’s out to get her so that he can enter the Land of the Fae and destroy it. Laila hasn’t had an easy life, and when she thinks things are finally going to be calm for her, she finds out that once again she’s in mortal danger.
When Cedric alerts to his mate in the bar while he’s there with friends, he’s surprised. He didn’t expect to find his mate so soon after joining the Teton pack, but now that he knows she’s in the area, he has to find her. Discovering his new mate is actually the new addition Laila, he knows he has to proceed with kid gloves, well as much as a wolf shifter can who knows his mate is nearby. He knows her life with the Sierra pack had been beyond horrible, and she’s still trying to heal and come to terms with the fact that the horrible man who raised her wasn’t her biological father. Swearing to protect Laila at all costs, he discovers he will need to work with the fae prince Beck, who has also sworn to protect her.
Laila has a decision to make, one that will affect the lives of three people. Does she stay with her wolf shifter mate Cedric, or join Beck, a fae prince in the land of the fae? Both men have sworn to protect her from Dorian, the evil fae out to use her for his own ends.
Y’all, if you love paranormal romance, snag this book. The story is just amazing, there’s so much going on, between the evil out to get Laila, the love triangle between Laila, Cedric, and Beck, Laila getting to know her real father after being held captive for her entire life. There’s love, sex, and revenge all going on, with a supernatural twist. Once you start reading, you’re not going to want to stop. The characters, writing, and story will keep you engaged until the very end. I’ve loved both this story and this series!!

I love this book to the moon and back. I know that there are many shifter books out there, but this one is different. It isn't just shifters living in the human world. It isn't a story where shifters have come out of the forest and are know by the humans. Rise of the Moon has dark fae out to destroy. Rise of the Moon has light fae ready to protect Laila or get her to go to the fae realm. Rise of the Moon is a story so action packed and filled with suspense that it will keep the reader entertained for hours.

Laila is a half-breed, fae and arctic wolf. She has recently escape the evil Sierra Pack after they were crushed by other wolves. She has settled with the Teton Pack surrounded by family she didn't know existed. She thinks she is safe. Her father thinks she is safe. They are wrong, so very, very wrong.

Those in the area packs are starting to find their mates. Laila and her friends go to a pack get together searching for theirs.

It doesn't take long for Laila to sense her mate and he senses her. She deserves easy after her first 30 years living in terror, but that isn't going to happen. Beck, a dark fae prince, has vowed to protect her. Cedric, her mate wants to protect her. The dark fae wants her. Cedric's wolf calls to her. Do love triangles ever work out well?

Cedric and Beck do have one thing in common, Laila's safety. The pages are riddled with evil. When evil can be masked by fae magic it can be even darker, more violent. Characters you care about will die. Characters you enjoy will be at risk. You can't help but feel for them, wish them the best, hope for love to be enough.

The author gives the read an amazing reward for surviving the evil she thrust upon the pack. She gives the reader a wonderful HEA and hints of what is to come.

Now I sit, wait and wonder. The author has my mind going in so many different directions. I will be dreaming of the Teton Pack and their friends for many days and I will happily do it.

I have been reading more paranormal again for the past year, but I'll say none of them have been about shifters, and maybe one or two about fae because for whatever reason, they just haven't caught my interest. That being said, L.P. Dover is one of my go to authors so I read Rise of the Moon and found that I LOVED it HARD. Laila is completely original as half shifter & half fae, which made her totally a one of a kind bada** in my eyes. Cedric knows she's his mate, and would do anything to keep her but as the fae are trying to get her to their realm, he knows he cannot force her to stay. I mean, what's a girl to do at this moment?! And those are the good things, there is also evil after her which made for some action, suspense, and excitement with a kicker of twists. Will the powerful alpha be able to complete the bond with his mate at the end of the day?! You know what you have to do to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We get to really focus on our new friend, Laila in this story! We get to learn more about her, her father, and hopefully his relationship with her mother. Things get interesting when she meets the rest of the pack. Why? Who are Cedrick and Beck? What do we learn about each of them? How does Laila feel about each of them when she meets them? What are they? What is she told? I cannot imagine being Laila and the choices she was told she had to make. Oh goodness, the war that came was unexpected, but not. It was so hard not to cry. Even being finished with the story, the tears were still threatening to fall. You should read this story. I felt like it deserved more than 5-stars.

This is the third book in the Royal Shifters series. It is a stand alone, but we do see the previous characters in this one also.
I read the first two when they first came out a few years ago, so I did do a re-read before starting this one. Just as a refresher for the characters and their stories. I don't regret the re-read at all! I forgot how much I loved this Pack.
This is Cedric and Laila's story.
Cedric is Rykers second. He is also an Alpha, but he stepped aside so Ryker could lead the pack.
We met Laila in the second book. She's not just a Royal wolf though. She's also half fae.
I love both characters and this whole pack. The storyline was great. I did tear up though because of Seraphina.
I can't wait for more!

Not sure how I missed this series until now but after reading this one I have now brought the other 2 books in this series.

I really enjoyed this one. It was a good twist on the usual Wolf-shifter books with having one of the wolves as also being part Fae. Laila has lived a different life from those around her as the pack she grew up with was not a good one but I really loved watching her bloom and her confidence grow.

Cedric knew Laila was his mate as soon as she is near him and what I loved most about him was that he didn't push his alpha vibes her way, he was over-protective yes but he took everything at her pace and didn't push which is a huge thing for a male shifter.

Once I started this one I was enthralled in this Royal Shifter world. The storyline was well written and kept your attention and the characters all drew you in and made you adore them. Add in the suspense and drama that was lingering with the dark fae being after Laila and you are on the edge of your seat waiting to see what was going to happen next.

The paranormal genre isn't for everyone but if done right it can be amazing. I read The Royal Shifters series years ago and fell in love with the world and characters. So to say I was giddy when I heard Leslie was continuing the series was an understatement. It's been a while but I still love this series.

Leslie weaved an intriguing story with mystery, heat and suspense. This was a beautiful story with intense chemistry and a slow build up. It was everything I could have hoped for.

I really hope this is the start to more in the series because it was so damn good and I definitely need more!

Rise of the Moon is a breathtaking, paranormal romance between Cedric and Laila. Laila is a half Fae, half shifter and was just united back with her true shifter family. Cedric is sexy alpha shifter who has not found his mate. When they meet the pull is so strong neither of then can fight it. Their journey together begins when a Fae shows up wanting to take Laila. Cedric will move heaven and earth to protect her.

I could not get enough of this book and devoured in one sitting. I look foward to more books from this pack.

Rise of the Moon.is magical!
Laila and Cedric are drawn together as their wolves call out to each other. It’s a magical sense of knowing your mate is near. At first neither one knows who their mate is. When they finally figure it out the sparks ignite. There is also a silent war going on between a dark fae and the wolves. The wolves try to protect Laila from the dark fae. She is a target due to being half shifter and half fae. This book is filled with excitement, twists and turns. Enter the world of fae and shifters. You wont be disappointed with this one.

I really did not want to put this book down. Laila and Cedric were a great couple. I loved that they wanted honesty between them, despite their tragic pasts. There were moments of tears and of smiles. I enjoyed all the secondary characters as well, and the deaths of some made me cry alongside the pack. I did not read the first two, and I did not feel lost when reading this one. Everything was explained. I do plan on going back to read them.

Fantastic Read

I loved this book so much! What a great story about Cedric and Laila. Cedric a wolf is destined to be with Laila. She is half wolf and half fae. This book has adventure, fantasy, fairies, demons, wolves. I was hooked on the first few pages and could not put it down. One of the best shifter books I have ever read. You will be on the edge of your seat. I'm really looking forward to the next one in this series. Make sure you have tissues handy too. L.P. Dover knows how to tell a story and makes a reader want more. I highly recommend this book.

This book is out of this world! So well written and so much passion poured in it. Leila is trying to find her place in the world. She is half fae and half shifter, going out with her friends one night everything changes. Cedric didn’t want a girl he just wanted fun. Hanging out with his friends something sparked in his body. Darkness is overshadowing Leila and a warning has been said. Can they protect each other or will one loose?

I liked the first two books in the series but I absolutely loved this one!! This story is filled with intrigue, mystery and suspense. Laila grew up with not everyone around her being like her and that is why she had a hard time but I really loved how she grew and developed even with the obstacles against her. Cedric knew Laila was his mate as soon as you was around her but he let her come to him. She has a target on her back being part wolf and part fae. Will Cedric and his wolves be able to protect Laila?

Laila is half fae half shifter. She has kept her wolf at bay because of the pack she was in. Her world is turned upside down when she feels her mate. Who is he?? Does she even want a mate? So many questions that she just doesn’t have the answers to. Cedric knows she is his but he will not force her into anything. This storyline is full of danger, questions and the essence of true mates. Excellent writing.

Rise of the Moon by L.P. Dover is book three in this series. The previous books are Turn of the Moon and R the Moon. Book three is a standalone in a series of interconnected stand-alones.
This is Laila and Cedric's story.
Fast paced, action packed and drama filled.
I really liked the storyline, the great writing and meeting characters from previous books.
A great read, 4,5 stars.

A PNR read that is absolutely magical. I jumped into this series in the middle with this boo but I don't think that hurt my understanding of the world of the enjoyment of this read. This book is bit different than your typical shifters, Laila is a half fae and half wolf and if that isn't hard enough she is torn between the worlds and her mate calling. A unique read that kept me turning pages.

Another magical read by L.P that I couldn’t put down. Laila & Cedric, I absolutely love reading their story. Cedric is definitely a character that you will not want to forget. He is swoon worthy. I like Beck and hoping maybe he will definitely get his own story. Hopefully there will be a lot more books in this series.

I have had to live a lie for a long time watching my brother and his pack kill and destroy so much hatred and then to let them think I was helping them but was really trying to bring them down but what I didn't expect was to meet my uncle and then the rest of my family and my dad to understand you need to read on
